Celem pracy było opracowanie konstrukcji obsługi i pracy poszczególnych modułów pieca VIM Lab 30-70 i ich testowanie w poszczególnych fazach procesu metalurgicznego. Przeprowadzono szkolenie operatorów w zakresie obsługi pieca, wykonano wytopy testowe i odbiorowe pieca. Opracowano dokumentację szczegółowych procedur uruchamiania pieca, opracowano ogólną technologię prowadzenia procesu metalurgicznego oraz opracowano instrukcję konserwacji pieca. Próby testowe pieca wykazały, że spełnia on wymagania pod względem przewidywanych zastosowań.

The purpose of the paper was to develop the design and operation of individual VIM Lab 30-70 furnace modules and test them in individual phases of the steel-making process. Training was given to furnace operators and furnace test and acceptance melts were made. The documentation of detailed furnace start-up procedures, general steel-making process technology and furnace maintenance instructions were developed. The furnace tests have revealed that it meets the requirements for performed applications.
