Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
The article is a synthetic presentation of the author’s considerations related to the problems of contemporary security, based on the assumptions of the NATO summit that took place in Prague on 21-23 November 2002. The Conference in Prague, taking into account the current situation, resulted in many decisions. The most important of them, according to the author include: 1. Framing a concept that the Alliance is more widely becoming a political – military organisation stating that prevention actions have priority. 2. Recognising as essential political and military tasks, in particular combating terrorism and proliferation of mass destruction weapons and broadening the scope of NATO interests into outside Euro-Atlantic region. 3. Admitting 7 new members into the Alliance that would strengthen the southern flank of the continent. 4. Recognising as necessary the structural changes, including command and further modernisation of armed forces. 5. Creating NATO Response Force. 6. Improving the co-operation with NATO - Russia, NATO - Ukraine Committees and PfP.
