Abstrakty
In this study, we propose that two molecular indicators, the ratio of dibenzotiophene to phenanthrene and the ratio of pristine to phytane. when coupled together provide a novel and powerful way to infer crude oil source rock depositional environments and litologies. Interpretation of these ratios for Carpathian and the Polish Lowlands has been aided by biomarker analysis by GC-MS.
