Abstrakty

EN

The paper shows that soil-steel structures can be successfully used as tunnels built in open pit. However one should remember that high flexibility and rheology during utilization are typical for these kind of structures. Therefore use of soil-steel structure requires right selection of profile shape and consideration of its support. During construction one must pay attention on deformation of the structure, what gives very important information for proper realization of this kind of structures used as tunnels. It is necessary to ensure safety as far as both strength and utilization are concerned, not to forget about fire safety which is also important.
