Gandolfi x-ray diffraction camera setup is described! We demonstrate its application to crystallographic study of chemical composition of materials used in fine arts works presenting investigations of variety of grounds used in the paintings of The Lanckoroński Collection. Small amount of a sample and the simplicity of its preparation makes the Gandolfi technique advantageous in comparison with other methods.
