Methanolic-water extracts of wolfberry fruit (Lycii Fructus) harvested from plants cultivated in Poland have been analysed chemically to reveal compounds responsible for the biological activity of the crude drug. The potential for the scavenging of free radicals has been tested by means of a DPPH spectrophotometric assay. In the extracts several compounds with potential antioxidant properties have been detected: L-ascorbic acid, tocopherols (a, ß and y), ß-carotene, as well as phenolic acids (gallic, protocatechic, caffeic, chlorogenic, neochlorogenic). A considerable free-radical scavenging activity was confirmed by a DPPH assay, with EC50 of the extract being 24.08 mg/l.
W celu identyfikacji składników biologicznie czynnych analizowano ekstrakty metanolowo-wodne owoców kolcowoju chińskiego (Lycii Fructus), zebrane z roślin aklimatyzowanych w Polsce. Zmiatanie wolnych rodników oszacowano za pomocą kolorymetrycznego testu DPPH. W ekstraktach stwierdzono związki o potencjalnym działaniu antyoksydacyjnym: kwas L-askorbinowy, tokoferole (a, ß i y), ß-karoten oraz kwasy fenolowe: galusowy, protokatechowy, kawowy, chlorogenowy oraz neochlorogenowy. Stwierdzono także dużą aktywność przeciwwolnorodnikową badanych ekstraktów, czego dowodzi EC50 w wysokości 24,08 mg/1.
