Przedstawiono wyniki badań zwięzłości gleby sondą stożkową przy zastosowaniu różnych końcówek stożkowych i różnych prędkości zagłębiania. Wyznaczono zależność regresyjną wskazań sondy z prędkością zagłębiania i gęstością gleby.
The effects of dimensions, shape and penetration speed of the cone penetrometer on its indications were studied in a soil bin on light loamy-sandy soil of various compaction. Two cone penetrometers were used: one of 12.8 mm diameter and 60° come angle and the other one of 20.27 mm diameter and 30° cone angle. The penetration speed ranged within 0.01-0.03 m/s while the soil compaction, expressed by dry soil bulk density, changed from 1.65 to 1.81 g/cm³. Obtained results showed that the indications of smaller cone were by 65% higher than those of the bigger one at the same measuring conditions, while the threefold increase of penetration speed increased penetrating resistance by about 60%. One the basis of these findings some unification of the equipment is recommended and a standard measurement method should be introduced to ensure the comparability of various cone penetrometer indications obtained in different soil bins and soil conditions.
