Abstrakty
In the imported cattle slaughtered in the Ostrołęka abattoir from June to December 1994, multiple purulent or necrotic nodules of various sizes, from pinhead to chestnut, have been found, mostly in interstitial tissue of various parts of muscles. These lesions were noted in 1.49-60.30% of the examined animals. Nocardia asteroides were isolated from a purulent focus, lymphatic node and lungs. Basing on bacteriological, gross and histopathological examinations, granulomatous lymphangitis and lymphadenitis due to N. asteroides infection were diagnosed.
