A total of 30–33 breeding pairs of Long-tailed Tits were detected within the area of 26.2 km² in the valley of the lower Ina River (Western Pomerania), producing a density of 1.1–1.2 pairs/ km². Most birds (37%) nested along the Ina River (0.8 pairs/km of the river), and 27% of pairs were recorded in tree clumps and at forest edges. Some pairs nested in gardens in rural and urban areas. Most nests were placed on trees and bushes of alders and willows at the mean height of 6.2 m. A total of 32% of nests were covered by creeping plants. In 23% of pairs both partners belonged to the subspecies A. c. caudatus, and in 53% of pairs at least one parent was the representative of A. c. europaeus or was the subspecies hybrid. In other pairs parental birds were not identified to the subspecies level.
