The PAN (Polish Academy of Sciences) Forecast Committee in its long-term country development strategy till 2025 indicates the necessity of taking into account global mega-trends, such as building information society and supporting knowledge based economy. The question conceming Poland's development direction is asked while there is an open discussion about a proper model for Europe in conditions of world economy globalisation. Further reforms in Poland are inevitable, however, a non-altemative approach should be rejected. There are always various models available not necessarily imitating foreign solutions.
