The article presents issues of employment reduction, mainly in a form of mass layoff. Taken the example of an enterprise from automotive branch, circumstanccs and results of employment reduction decisions are discussed. The authoresses point to possibilities of soothing the threats connected with the dismissal process due to applying outplacement and increasing employment flexibility.
