Innovative enterprises are the source of competitiveness and they are the mainstay for reducing the gap on the level of country, sectors and regions. There is a special role of research centres established by foreign companies investing in R&D and increase of number of Polish big, medium and small enterprises investing in innovations with use of own or specialized scientific centres research. The system of enterprises innovations measures leading to reducing of investment risk and disseminating of innovations patterns could be an important base for putting in motion of processes combining investors and innovative companies. There is opinion of authors, that economic system based on knowledge and scientific institutions might be used for acceleration and co-ordination of innovation processes. It is very important to extend the time perspectives of the economic policy on the decision levels of the country, regions, sectors and companies, as well as developing skills of combining apparently not related fields as, for instance, education, science, culture, health, industry and services. Very important role in this process shall be attached to the evolution of the awareness and education on all levels and to the use of social capital. There is a large potential in ready data bases and existing institutional structures and particularly in networking structures. There is also essential role in this process to be played by foreign and domestic companies with special consideration of R&D centres of international corporation and academic organizations along with units from the world of media and culture. In this paper there are presented opportunities for use of other micro indicators based on knowledge.
