W poszukiwaniu właściwego czasu w psychoanalizie i w fotografii

In psychoanalytic work, we deal with different states of mind and events, and the work of a psychoanalyst is similar to that of a photographer. We must consider a certain moment in a psychoanalytic session or a photography session, in which we can capture the experience with the thinking of our mental apparatus or the sensor of our camera. I describe the moments in a psychoanalytic session when it is difficult to capture and grasp something because there is too much movement. The mental apparatus then cannot take in the sensory experience and develop thinking. There are also moments that are static, boring, and require a change of scenery. Both states, that is, situations where time „flies” very fast, as well as those in which time „drags,” are very difficult to capture and think about. However, what is important is the dynamics of changes in these two states. Similarly, in street photography sessions as well as war photography, one should stop and try to think under the pressure of the impulsiveness of life in these conditions. On the other hand, in a portrait photography session, one needs to evoke some kind of expression in the subject that is closest to the emotional state of that person.

Praca psychoanalityka jest podobna do pracy fotografa. Musimy brać pod uwagę pewien moment w sesji psychoanalitycznej lub fotograficznej, w którym możemy ująć doświadczenie myśleniem naszego aparatu umysłowego lub matrycą naszego aparatu fotograficznego. Opisuję tu momenty w sesji psychoanalizy, w których jednak trudno coś ująć i uchwycić, ponieważ jest zbyt dużo ruchu. Aparat umysłowy nie może wtedy przyjąć czegoś i rozwinąć myślenia. Zdarzają się też momenty statyczne, nudne i wymagające zmiany scenografii. Obydwa te stany – zarówno sytuacje, w których czas „leci” bardzo szybko, jak i te, w których czas się „wlecze” – są bardzo trudne do ujęcia i do pomyślenia. Ale to, co istotne, to dynamika zmian w tych dwóch stanach. Analogicznie, w sesjach fotografii ulicznej bądź fotografii wojennej należy zatrzymać się i spróbować myśleć pod naporem impulsywności życia w tych warunkach. Natomiast w sesji fotografii portretowej trzeba wywołać pewien rodzaj ekspresji w podmiocie, który będzie najbliżej odpowiadał stanowi emocjonalnemu tej osoby.
