The author attempts to indicate the changes affecting the area of social media and the challenges it faces, such as the preparation of fake news and the challenges it faces. The war in Ukraine has shown, on the largest scale to date, how social media influence the perception of the parties to the conflict and how they affect allies not taking an active part in the war. The issues of dis-information, creation of chaos, manipulation of information and the dynamics of social media change before and after the start of the war in Ukraine will be discussed.
