The Constitution of Ecuador, which came into force in 2008, has numerous articles regarding the natural environment (Nature). Underlying them is the norm provided by Article 10 which states that „Nature shall be the subject of rights which are recognized by the Constitution”. With regard to geopolitics, the Author starts off by acquainting the reader with the constitutional tradition of Ecuador, with particular regard to circumstances surrounding the adoption of the constitution, characterizing it in some detail. To present a more complete picture, the Author gives a Polish translation of the norms regarding the natural environment, also presenting the background and the way they were enacted. The constitutionalization of the rights of nature, to the extent presented, sparked off voices of criticism and general skepticism towards it, yet the Author also mentions the positive outcome of the issue.

Obowiązująca w Republice Ekwadoru Konstytucja z 2008 r. posiada liczne artykuły dotyczące środowiska naturalnego (Natury). Ich podstawa oraz treść wynikają z normy zawartej w art. 10: „Natura będzie podmiotem tych praw, które uznaje Konstytucja”. Ze względu na geopolitykę Autor najpierw zapoznaje czytelnika z tradycją konstytucyjną Ekwadoru, ze szczególnym rozwinięciem okoliczności przyjęcia obowiązującej ustawy zasadniczej; dokonuje jej charakterystyki. Z powodów poznawczych przedstawia tłumaczenie na język polski norm dotyczących środowiska naturalnego. Wreszcie ukazuje tryb oraz kulisy uchwalenia tychże. Oprócz głosów krytyki, sceptycznego podejścia do konstytucjonalizacji praw natury w zakresie przedstawionym, wskazuje na pozytywne pokłosie sprawy.
