Dogłębniejsze naukowe zainteresowania zarówno łacińską jak i niemiecką spuścizną literacką magistra teologii Jana Eckharta z Hochheim datują się od 1933 roku. Polska historiografia ma w tej materii spore zasługi. Artykuł prezentuje dwa oblicza niemieckiego filozofa, wypracowane w polskiej literaturze przedmiotu.

A profound scholarly interest in both Latin and German literary heritage of master of theology Johannes Eckhart von Hochheim dates back to 1933. Polish historiography has considerable achievements it the matter. The article presents two images of this German philosopher, as seen in the Polish literature on the subject.
