The aim of this article is to spotlight the educational efforts undertaken by teachers at the Krakow grammar school administered by the Ursuline nuns during the period of its reactivation from 1945 to 1953. The research draws upon an analysis of documents housed in the Krakow Archive Province of the Ursuline Sisters of the Union of Rome, most of which were not previously utilized by the author in his doctoral thesis. The essay outlines the primary objectives of the school’s educational endeavors concerning religious, moral, and social upbringing, with a focus on preparing female students for service to God, the Church, the Homeland, and other people. This mission was primarily realized through educational programs devised by the teaching staff, at first through official channels and later through the so-called “second circuit” following the onset of ideological offensive in education. Additionally, the article discussed the contributions of extracurricular organizations such as the School Circle of the Polish Red Cross and Krakow scout teams. It also shows the importance of shaping good manners among students and the pivotal role of teachers in alleviating the burdens of wartime experiences, setting directions for educational initiatives, overseeing their execution, and maintaining positive rapport with students.

Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie działań wychowawczych podejmowanych przez nauczycieli krakowskiej szkoły średniej prowadzonej przez urszulanki w okresie od jej reaktywacji w 1945 roku do unicestwienia w roku 1953. Badania przeprowadzono metodą analizy dokumentów znajdujących się w krakowskim Archiwum Prowincjalnym Urszulanek Unii Rzymskiej, w głównej mierze dokumentów niewykorzystanych przez autora przy pisaniu rozprawy doktorskiej. W tekście przedstawiono główne kierunki szkolnej aktywności wychowawczej z zakresu wychowania religijnego, moralnego i społecznego, mającej na celu przygotować uczennice do pełnienia służby Bogu, Kościołowi, ojczyźnie oraz drugiemu człowiekowi. Tak nakreślony cel był realizowany głównie na podstawie przygotowanych przez grono pedagogiczne programów wychowawczych, najpierw oficjalnych, a po rozpoczęciu ofensywy ideologicznej w oświacie funkcjonujących w tzw. „drugim obiegu”. Ważną rolę w tym względzie spełniały także organizacje prowadzące pozalekcyjną działalność wychowawczą: Szkolne Koło PCK i krakowskie drużyny harcerskie. W artykule ukazano także znaczenie kształtowania kultury osobistej wśród uczennic oraz rolę nauczycieli w niwelowaniu skutków przeżyć wojennych, wyznaczaniu kierunków działań wychowawczych, czuwaniu nad ich realizacją oraz dbaniu o dobry kontakt z wychowankami.
