Wybór optymalnego, czyli najlepszego z możliwych harmonogramów jest zagadnieniem bardzo trudnym z uwagi na dużą liczbę dopuszczalnych operacji technologicznych wykonywanych w jednym czasie. Zaproponowany model matematyczny umożliwia stworzenie algorytmu obliczeniowego i jego implementację komputerową. Wyniki przeprowadzonych obliczeń na wielu przykładach jednoznacznie pokazują korzyści wynikające ze stosowania tej metody. Właściwe przyjęcie kryteriów i ich wag pozwala na spełnienie oczekiwań organizatorów przedsięwzięcia inwestycyjnego.

To be able to prepare a schedule one needs to know what the task set is, the demanded order of completion of the tasks (relations between tasks) and time that it takes to complete each of them. Moreover, tasks to be completed need particular resources, which on principle are limited. But a lot of tasks can be completed in different ways; some of those are easier and cheaper, some take less time, others more. In the analysis of the set theses it was proven that they are all true. The topic is broad and some of the issues need to be investigated further. In the course of the research appeared some problems that are worth solving. The items could be topics for master's theses, dissertations and even financed research. Construction of a project schedule usually starts from an assumed intuition-based form. It is eventually improved thereafter. Such approach to project schedule construction is rather incapable of delivering schedules which are as good as it is only possible. It seems that conscious selection of initial project form would facilitate attaining at better schedule alternative a lot. Identification of features of the most advantageous project schedule is therefore indispensable. Complexity of real construction makes identification of optimal schedule a hard task. Identification of the optimal project structure is nevertheless worth investigation as it would provide information which would make scheduling professionals more conscious with regard to deriving more advantageous project schedule instances.
