EN The luminescence of Bi3+, Ce3+ and Tb3+ -activated BaB8O13 and Sr-borates are studied. The emission peak of Ce3+ in alkaline earth borates shifts to higher energy side with decreasing ratio of SrO/B2O3. The energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+ in BaB8O13is studied.
