manufacturer in making decisions. Markets have become more competitive as a result of technological advancements. The effect of inflation on the overall cost of the inventory system is useful in providing a tool for the analysis of inventory decisions. This study intended to estimate the effect of different fuzzy numbers on a manufacturer's annual joint expected total cost. The comparative study of this proposed model has been considered for two different fuzzy numbers with the defuzzification technique as the centroid method. The optimization technique has been used to minimize the producer’s joint expected total cost under the condition mentioned earlier, and the model is validated numerically.
classification algorithms in a broader industry. The authors briefly described the process of generating a feature vector based on some text documents and digital images. Also, they presented the details of a Centroid Based Classifier and the possibility of its correlation with Newton’s law of universal gravitation. The authors carried out a review of existing methods using the gravitational model in the process of statistical classification. Using the conducted literature review, the authors presented the results of tests for various approaches to modelling mass based on the class size in the CBC classifier. The authors summarized the considerations with constructive conclusions and indicated further possible directions of researches on modelling of mass in the centroid-based classification process.
decision making method. A case study is carried out in the limestone quarry of the cement factory of Hadjar-Soud, Algeria.
the make-up of the composites. Results of the investigations are presented in the form of triangular graphs which illustrate the content percentage of singular components in the composite. It was found that the blend of PVC and PE-HD is suitable as a matrix in polymeric composites to hold keratin fibres as the filler. On the grounds of results obtained, the opportunity is presented to adopt a composition of the composite that responds to a complex of desired properties (within assumed limits of the singular components).
estimation algorithm reconstructing a point spread function (PSF) from the recorded astronomical images has been used. Minimisation of turbulence effects and telescope control system noise in long exposure images acquired and recorded by the ground telescope is proposed. As a solution of the distortion error a minimisation signal is dedicated to GoTo calibration procedures built in control mechanisms of the electromechanical telescope system. The proposed method has been verified in the Matlab environment for real deep sky images recorded by the ground telescope system.
payoff functions. Furthermore, we answer the long time open question whether 1-suboptimal points are always vertices by providing a counterexample on a tree network.
instrument performance depends on musical training, and music listening depends on perception of instrument output. Since musical signals are easier to understand in the frequency domain than the time domain, much effort has been made to perform spectral analysis and extract salient parameters, such as spectral centroids, in order to create simplified synthesis models for musical instrument sound synthesis. Moreover, perceptual tests have been made to determine the relative importance of various parameters, such as spectral centroid variation, spectral incoherence, and spectral irregularity. It turns out that the importance of particular parameters depends on both their strengths within musical sounds as well as the robustness of their effect on perception. Methods that the author and his colleagues have used to explore timbre perception are: 1) discrimination of parameter reduction or elimination; 2) dissimilarity judgments together with multidimensional scaling; 3) informal listening to sound morphing examples. This paper discusses ramifications of this work for sound synthesis and timbre transposition.
algorithm namely HACCF (Heuristic based Agglomerative Clustering for Cell Formation) exploiting the centroid linkage clustering method and the Minkowski distance metric as dissimilarity coeffcient. An exhaustive heuristic technique is developed and combined with the proposed clustering method to form manufacturing cells. 15 widely practiced datasets are obtained from past literature and tested with the proposed technique. The computational results are exhibited using the grouping efficacy as performance measure for the abovementioned test problems. The proposed technique is shown to outperform the standard and published techniques such as ZODIAC, GRAFICS, TSP based genetic algorithm and simple genetic algorithm and attained 73.33% improved result by exceeding the solution quality on the test problems. Therefore the proposed technique could be extensively used and could be hybridized with intelligent approaches to obtain more improved result in the vicinity of future cellular manufacturing system.
interpolujących. Omówiono także dwie techniki : centroidów i dyspersji, znacznie redukujące liczbę porównań trajektorii wykonywanych w procesie wyszukiwań.
acceleration techniques reducing the number of trajectory comparisons, based on trajectory centroid and dispersion vector, will be also discussed.
called k Near Surrounding Neighbors (k-NSN), which "improves" the neighborhood used in k-NCN with respect to both mentioned aspect. We tested several methods, k-NN included, each in a multidecision and in two binary decomposition schemes, on a few UCI datasets and a large ferrite core dataset, to show attractiveness of the presented concept in applications where the prediction accuracy is of utmost importance.
