The article is devoted to the development of an information system for automating business processes of a modern enterprise with ensuring stability and reliability, which are implemented by the applications developed by the authors. Goal is to develop improvements to the core digitalization processes of enterprises for sustainable functioning. The authors carried out a deep analysis and described the main stages of the enterprise digitalization process: the process of document approval, business processes of personnel management, etc. The architecture of the information system, a description of business processes and the principles of reliability and fault tolerance of the system being developed have been developed. The developed desktop-client application provides connection to the information system with the help of working computers of the enterprise through a local network with access to the application server. This allows you to reduce damage from accidental or deliberate incorrect actions of users and administrators; separation of protection; a variety of means of protection; simplicity and manageability of the information system and its security system.

Artykuł poświęcony jest opracowaniu systemu informatycznego do automatyzacji procesów biznesowych nowoczesnego przedsiębiorstwa z zapewnieniem stabilności i niezawodności, które są realizowane przez opracowane przez autorów aplikacje. Celem jest rozwijanie usprawnień podstawowych procesów cyfryzacji przedsiębiorstw dla zrównoważonego funkcjonowania. Autorzy przeprowadzili dogłębną analizę i opisali główne etapy procesu cyfryzacji przedsiębiorstwa: proces akceptacji dokumentów, procesy biznesowe zarządzania personelem itp. Zostały opracowane architektura systemu informatycznego, opis procesów biznesowych oraz zasady niezawodności i odporności na błędy tworzonego systemu. Opracowana aplikacja typu desktop-client zapewnia połączenie z systemem informacyjnym za pomocą pracujących komputerów przedsiębiorstwa poprzez sieć lokalną z dostępem do serwera aplikacji. Pozwala to na ograniczenie szkód wynikających z przypadkowych lub celowych nieprawidłowych działań użytkowników i administratorów; rozdzielenie ochrony; różnorodność środków ochrony; prostotę i łatwość zarządzania systemem informatycznym i jego systemu zabezpieczeń.

Kwestia opracowania dobrego zapytania ofertowego jest bardzo istotna w procesie przebiegu przetargu, którego efektem ma być zakup zintegrowanego systemu informatycznego do zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem. Celem autora było pokazanie wybranych mechanizmów zachodzących w tym procesie zwracając uwagę na kluczowe czynniki, które są niezbędne do osiągnięcia sukcesu. Autor celowo nie wymieniał żadnych konkretnych zintegrowanych systemów informatycznych ze względu na chęć przedstawienia w sposób obiektywny omawianej problematyki. Przedstawione wybrane aspekty praktyczne wynikają z kilkunastoletniego doświadczenie biznesowego, które autor posiada.

he article presents selected practical aspects of choosing an integrated IT system for enterprise management. The issue of developing a good request for proposal is very important in the process of conducting the tender, the effect of which is to be the purchase of an integrated IT system for enterprise management. The author's goal was to show selected mechanisms taking place in this process, paying attention to the key factors that are necessary to achieve success. The author intentionally did not mention any specific integrated IT systems due to the willingness to present the discussed issues in an objective manner.The presented selected practical aspects result from several years of business experience that the author has.

Celem tego artykułu jest pokazanie praktycznych aspektów mogących zminimalizować potencjalne ryzyko występujące w tego typu projektach. Ważnym aspektem jest czynnik ludzki, który jest nieprzewidywalny i bardzo złożony. Autor celowo nie wymieniał żadnych konkretnych zintegrowanych systemów informatycznych ze względu na chęć przedstawienia w sposób obiektywny omawianej problematyki. Przedstawione wybrane aspekty praktyczne wynikają z kilkunastoletniego doświadczenie biznesowego, które autor posiada.

The purpose of this article is to show the practical aspects that can minimize the potential risk in this type of project. Niniejszy artykuł porusza tematy z zakresu analizy biznesowej, będącej podstawowym elementem funkcjonowania współczesnych organizacji. Celem tej publikacji jest przedstawienie i ocena czterech wybranych narzędzi do modelowania diagramów biznesowych w notacji BPMN. W ramach wprowadzenia do tematu scharakteryzowano procesy biznesowe, zdefiniowano ich analizę, a także przybliżono czytelnikowi notację BPMN i badane narzędzia. Zdefiniowano też metodykę badań i ich przebieg. Następnie przeprowadzone zostały badania zgodnie z przyjętą metodyką. Rezultatem tych prac były wyniki badań razem z analizą. Na koniec podsumowano przeprowadzone pomiary łącznie z wnioskami.

This article discusses topics in the field of business analysis, which is the basic element of the operation of modern organizations. The aim of this publication is to present and evaluate four selected tools for modeling business diagrams in BPMN notation. As part of the introduction to the topic, business processes were characterized, their analysis was defined, and the reader was introduced to the BPMN notation and the tested tools. The research methodology and its course were also defined. Then, the research was carried out in accordance with the adopted methodology. The conclusion of this work was the result of the research together with the analysis. Finally, the conducted experiments were summarized together with conclusions.

Every year approximately 70 million passenger cars are being produced and automotive industry is much bigger then just passenger cars. The impact of automotive industry on the environment is tremendous. From extracting raw materials through manufacturing and assembly processes, exploitation of the vehicle to the reprocessing irreversible, extensive environmental damage is done. The goal of this study is to show how implementing eco-design processes into supply chain management can reduce the impact of automotive industry on the environment by e.g. reducing the use of the fuel, increasing the use of recycled materials. Focus is on evaluation of current state, environmental impacts and potential improvements for design, raw materials, manufacturing and distribution and end-of-life phase.

The article presents a methodological and application comparison of two increasingly popular technologies in the field of applied computer science – Blockchain and Low-code. According to the analytical and research organization Gartner Inc., specializing in the issues of strategic use of technology and technology management, they are at the forefront of global IT solutions in this field. Both technologies Blockchain and Low-code is used as a stand-alone IT technologies and their synergy is an innovative combination of IT, which is a viable response to global market challenges in the management of processes in every value chain. Proceeding from the above, this article describes the author’s concept of using technology solutions Blockchain and Low-code for a holistic process management in heavy industry, detailing the full supply chain.

In recent years, Industry 4.0 has promoted the enhanced horizontal integration of value chain participants, aiming to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Cross-Organizational Business Processes. In this paper, we discuss transparency and data privacy challenges that occur with the introduction of a high level of horizontal integration. Private, permissioned Distributed Ledger Technology systems and smart contracts can be used to address these challenges and enhance the integration of business processes across the entire value chain. To make this possible, we propose a creation of a Model-Driven Software Development approach based on a Domain-Specific Modeling Language that would enable automatic generation of smart contracts. Generated smart contracts could then be used by collaborating parties to supervise the state of production and contract fulfillment in a trustworthy and secure way.

The approach to applications integration for World Data Center (WDC) interdisciplinary scientific investigations is developed in the article. The integration is based on mathematical logic and artificial intelligence. Key elements of the approach - a multilevel system architecture, formal logical system, implementation - are based on intelligent agents interaction. The formal logical system is proposed. The inference method and mechanism of solution tree recovery are elaborated. The implementation of application integration for interdisciplinary scientific research is based on a stack of modern protocols, enabling communication of business processes over the transport layer of the OSI model. Application integration is also based on coordinated models of business processes, for which an integrated set of business applications are designed and realized.

W artykule wykorzystano dane firmy, wyniki własnych badań koncernu oraz literaturę przedmiotu z zakresu konkurencyjności, modeli biznesowych oraz społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu, w celu ukazania, że wdrażanie działań z zakresu CSR korzystnie wpływa na konkurencyjność modelu biznesowego.

For many modern enterprises, building the competitiveness of a business model based on compliance with CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) rules is becoming the norm. Many of them pride themselves on belonging to the Respect Index, while they have no objection to lowering eg production costs, often violating environmental standards. The article uses the company's data, the results of the company's own research and the subject literature on competitiveness, business models and corporate social responsibility, in order to show that the implementation of CSR activities has a positive impact on the competitiveness of the business model.

Celem artykułu jest uzasadnienie celowości wykorzystania metod jakie daje controlling operacyjny w kreacji strategii rozwoju współczesnych organizacji opartych o wiedzę, innowacyjność i szerokie kompendium informacji zarządczych. Są to źródła zasilania zintegrowanych systemów informatycznych zarządzania wspomagających realizację tak wielu procesów zarządczo - decyzyjnych współczesnych organizacji. Dynamiczny rozwój technologii informatycznych stwarza nowe możliwości zastosowania tych rozwiązań we współczesnych metodach i technikach zarządzania takich jak Business Process Reengineering, Business Intelligence i Data mining czy Business Process Management. Pozwala to na efektywne wykorzystanie repozytoriów informacji zarządczych a w nich pełną integrację informacyjną tak niezbędną dla menedżerów w zakresie tworzenia wielowymiarowych analiz i bieżącego raportowania. Aby zapewnić efektywne ich wykorzystanie, współczesne organizacje mają do dyspozycji różnorodność metod zarządzania procesami biznesowymi. Jedną z nowocześniejszych metod zarządzania, umożliwiającą szybkie reagowanie na zmiany otoczenia i antycypacje jest koncepcja controllingu operacyjnego. Controlling, który jest zorientowany na przyszłość jest jednym z instrumentów nowoczesnego zarządzania a zarazem źródłem informacji zarządczych dla kierownictwa. Różnorodność oraz bogactwo tych informacji wymaga stosowania nowoczesnych metod ułatwiających tworzenie repozytoriów danych ułatwiających i przyspieszających analizę informacji zarządczej i dostarczanie na określone centra decyzyjne. Trudno jest zatem dziś mówić o efektywnie funkcjonującej organizacji, a w niej controllingu jako instrumentu oceny i tworzenia przyszłej strategii bez analizy procesów i wspomagających ich realizację systemów informacyjnych. Dlatego też tak istotne jest wykorzystanie funkcjonalności hurtowni danych jako centralnego repozytorium danych zarządczych wraz z metodyką Business Process Management jako instrumentu wspomagającego controlling. Jej wykorzystanie może być więc efektywnym czynnikiem w automatyzacji i mapowaniu procesów controllingu operacyjnego w przedsiębiorstwie.

The subject article aims to prove the importance of new methods in operational controlling, stimulating corporate strategy creation, based on innovation and extended management information. These two are key factors for various kinds of integrated management systems of today’s organizations. The dynamic technology development in few recent years, covering also integrated management systems, discovered new effective solutions for real time corporate governance, such as Process Reengineering, Business Intelligence, Data Mining or Business Process Management. All these stands for fully integrated and harmonized IT ecosystem that is highly required by corporate managers for any Big Data analysis, reporting and decisioning processes. The concept of controlling is a key element in proper and effective business management and financial governance. It significantly helps organizations in real-time decisioning and risk mitigation. At the same moment the critical element for successful decision is cleanness of data sets, central repository and data warehouse configuration. Corporate Governance should have solid data process management policy, highly educated data analysts and correctly applied Business Process Management methods. All above significantly improves operational controlling appliance, controlling process mapping and process automation in modern enterprises. We should consider then Business Process Management as key element for corporate growth within competitive markets.

Dynamically changing environment, progressive globalization, increasing intensity of competition and threats of crisis phenomena require the development, improvement and implementation of innovative management systems. Throughout the world, as well as in Poland, there is an increasing significance of enterprises in the area of social responsibility. Building a business model based on compliance with CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) rules is becoming the norm. The article uses data from selected metallurgical enterprises and the subject literature in the field of business models and corporate social responsibility, in order to show that the implementation of CSR activities is an important element of the business model and positively affects the company’s social image.

Na całym świcie, jak i również w Polsce obserwuje się wzrost znaczenia działań przedsiębiorstw w obszarze odpowiedzialności społecznej. Budowanie modelu biznesowego opierającego się na przestrzeganiu zasad CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) staje się normą. The company usually is seen as a set of different types of processes. It is connected with sequence of actions, which allow to transform input data into output. Accurate diagnosis process helps to identify the main issues: how the organization works, what are the areas of the powers and responsibilities of employees, whether the processes are effective, which areas should be improved. Process approach defines the goals and measures of individual processes, and optimize the flow and structure. A key advantage of describe processes is the ability to substantiate the assumptions for the construction of IT systems, which directly affect the automation of processes. In the article was describe a BPMN standard which support modeling of the business processes in a company.

W pracy przedstawiono teorię EPC (Enterprise Process Control) jako opis nowego modelu ontologicznego zintegrowanych systemów zarządzania i sterowania bezpośredniego. Pokazano, że model ten, oparty na modelu informacyjnodecyzyjnym procesów biznesowych, można uważać za modyfikację i rozszerzenie znanej ontologii przedsiębiorstw opartej na teorii PSI (Performance in Social Interaction), leżącej u podstaw metodologii DEMO (Design and Engineering Methodology for Organizations).

The paper presents the EPC theory (Enterprise Process Control) as a description of a new ontological model of integrated management and direct control systems. It was shown that this model, based on the information-decision model of business processes, may be regarded as a result of modification and extension of the well-known enterprise ontology based on the PSI theory (Performance in Social Interaction), which underlies the DEMO (Design and Engineering Methodology for Organizations).

IT tools supporting the BPM approach developed rapidly in the last 10 years. Initially were available simple solutions for modeling and optimization of business processes. The next generation has offered business process implementation and monitoring in the real environment of the organization. Finally user requirements forced vendors to add a bit of “intelligence” to their applications and iBPMS entered on the market. The iBMPS market is still immature but some trends can be seen. The source for such analysis can be found in analytical reports provided by renowned research and advisory companies. In this paper was presented analysis of BPMS and iBMPS markets based on Gartner’s Magic Quadrant reports from years: 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2015.

The paper addresses the following questions: What is the best way to undertake business process modelling? What procedures and core activities are essential during stages of modelling? What are the most important rules, practices and standards to guide the business process modelling community?
