In the paper positive fractional continuous-time linear systems are considered. Positive fractional systems without delays and positive fractional systems with a single delay in control are studied. New criteria for approximate and exact controllability of systems without delays as well as a relative controllability criterion of systems with delay are established and proved. Numerical examples are presented for different controllability criteria. A practical application is proposed.

This paper investigates the notion of practical feedback stabilization of evolution equations satisfying some relaxed conditions in infinite-dimensional Banach spaces. Moreover, sufficient conditions are presented that guarantee practical stabilizability of uncertain systems based on Lyapunov functions. These results are applied to partial differential equations.

In this paper, controllability results for a class of multi-term time-fractional differential systems with state-dependent delay have been studied. The concept of fractional calculus, measure of noncompactness and Mönch fixed-point theorem has been implemented to obtain a new set of controllability results. Finally, an application is given to illustrate the obtained results.

Sufficient conditions are given under which the controllability and observability of linear electrical circuits is independent of their resistances. In some particular cases the observability depends only on the capacitances or inductances of the electrical circuits.

We present an operational semantics for time-aware business processes, that is, processes modeling the execution of business activities, whose durations are subject to linear constraints over the integers. We assume that some of the durations are controllable, that is, they can be determined by the organization that executes the process, while others are uncontrollable, that is, they are determined by the external world. Then, we consider controllability properties, which guarantee the completion of the execution of the process, satisfying the given duration constraints, independently of the values of the uncontrollable durations. Controllability properties are encoded by quantified reachability formulas, where the reachability predicate is recursively defined by means of constrained Horn clauses (CHCs). These clauses are automatically derived from the operational semantics of the process. Finally, we present two algorithms for solving the so called weak and strong controllability problems. Our algorithms reduce these problems to the verification of a set of quantified integer constraints, which are simpler than the original quantified reachability formulas, and can effectively be handled by state-of-the-art CHC solvers.

The main aim of this article is to survey and discuss the existing state of art concerning the assignability by a feedback of numerical characteristics of linear continuous and discrete time-varying systems. Most of the results present necessary or sufficient conditions for different formulation of the Lyapunov spectrum assignability problem. These conditions are expressed in terms of various controllability types and optimalizability of the controlled systems and certain properties of the free system such as: regularity, diagonalizability, boundness away, integral separation and reducibility.

The study examines the effects of intellectual work virtualization on internal uncertainness of organizations using the entropy approach adopted from the information theory. The results are grouped using marginal cases marking limits of entropy value of virtualized organization linked to specific type of organizational culture.

Artykuł bada wpływ wirtualizacji pracy intelektualnej na wewnętrzną niepewność organizacji stosujących podejście entropii przyjęte z teorii informacji. Wyniki zostały pogrupowane przy zastosowaniu marginalnych przypadków okreslających granice wartości entropii wirtualnych organizacji powiązanych ze specyficznym typem kultury organizacyjnej.

The study examines the effects of simultaneous utilization of immersion and case studies on the outcome of practical preparation of future professional raising their value for the labor market. The results are indicating that immersion is capable of amplifying the outcome of case studies by raising the level of focusing during the in-class work and independence of decision-making.

Artykuł omawia wpływ równoległego wykorzystania immersji i studiów przypadku na praktyczne przygotowanie przyszłego pracownika podnosząc jego wartość na rynku pracy. Wyniki wskazują, że immersja może zwielokrotnić wyniki studiów przypadku poprzez podniesienie poziomu koncentracji w czasie pracy na zajęciach i wzmocnić niezależność w podejmowania decyzji.

The analysis of the influence of transfer function zeros on the parameters of state feedback controllers has been conducted. If a transfer function of a control object has zeros which are located closely to poles, the control object tends to singularity, and the influence of the input control signal to the states of the control object becomes weaker. The problem of the state feedback controller synthesis becomes ill-conditioned, which leads to the appearance of extremely large state feedback coefficients. In this case, the state feedback coefficients are sensitive to the parameters of the control object. As a result, the parametric robustness of the control system is reduced. Known methods of structural analysis of control object models are included amongst different methods of the numerical evaluation of the controllability and the observability, as well as methods of the model order reduction. These methods have some disadvantages, such as dependence on the state space representation form of the control object, ignoring a part of the control object model. In this paper, some ways of the preliminary structural analysis of the state space models of control objects have been proposed. The singular (Hankel) matrix is proposed for analyzing the properties of control object models. The singular matrix is the invariant characteristic of the control object in various state space forms and it characterizes the property of the control object completeness. As a result of the research, it was found that the coefficients of the state feedback controller are inversely proportional to the determinant of the singular matrix, and the determinant of the singular matrix is equal to the resultant of the transfer function polynomials. Thus the value of the determinant of the singular matrix depends on the location of the zeros of the transfer function. The method of the structural transformation (decomposition) of the control object for the defining the need of the reducing the order of the control object model is proposed.

In this paper, we prove the existence of mild solutions for Sobolev-type fractional impulsive stochastic di erential equations with in nite delay in Hilbert spaces. In addition, the controllability of the system with nonlocal conditions and in nite delay is studied. An example is provided to illustrate the obtained theory.

This paper is concerned with the controllability of nonlinear fractional delay dynamical systems with implicit fractional derivatives for multiple delays and distributed delays in control variables. Sufficient conditions are obtained by using the Darbo fixed point theorem. Further, examples are given to illustrate the theory.

In this paper necessary and sufficient conditions of controllability and observability for solutions of the state equations of fractional continuous time linear systems with regular pencils are proposed. The derivations of the conditions are based on the construction of Gramian matrices.

As a result of theoretical and experimental efforts, innovative scientifically grounded conceptual approach to select hydrostatic and mechanical transmissions (HMT) for wheel tractors designed for agricultural operations has been proposed. The approach is characterized by focusing on kinematic parameters, power parameters, and energy parameters of the transmission while performing technological operation “plowing”; it also takes into consideration braking features of a tractor in the context of various braking types. Application of the approach offers an opportunity to improve technical level of transmissions while updating current wheel tractors and designing new ones; moreover, that will better controllability as well as braking efficiency. The conceptual approach developed on the basis of proposed techniques and applied mathematical models makes possible to determine rational structure and basic design parameters of two-flow HMTs while designing; it also helps formulate recommendations concerning a technique for service braking and emergency braking under specific operational conditions.

The study on system-wide and structural properties of a prepolyamidation tank were performed by simulation. Control channels were selected. An algorithmical synthesis of a tank optimal control system was performed. A designed control system was simulated.

A novel circuit topology of modified switched boost high frequency hybrid resonant inverter fitted induction heating equipment is presented in this paper for efficient induction heating. Recently, induction heating technique is becoming very popular for both domestic and industrial purposes because of its high energy efficiency and controllability. Generally in induction heating, a high frequency alternating magnetic field is required to induce the eddy currents in the work piece. High frequency resonant inverters are incorporated in induction heating equipment which produce a high frequency alternating magnetic field surrounding the coil. Previously this high frequency alternating magnetic field was produced by voltage source inverters. But VSIs have several demerits. So, in this paper, a new scheme of modified switched boost high frequency hybrid resonant inverter fitted induction heating equipment has been depicted which enhances the energy efficiency and controllability and the same is validated by PSIM.

In this paper, we establish a result concerning the controllability of a mixed Volterra–Fredholm type integrodifferential third order dispersion equation. The result is obtained by using the theory of strongly continuous semigroups and the Banach fixed point theorem.

In this paper, an approach to analyze the observability and controllability of sandwich systems with backlash is proposed. In this method, a non-smooth state-space function is used to describe the sandwich systems with backlash which are also non-smooth non-linear systems. Then, a linearization method based on non-smooth optimization is proposed to derive a linearized state-space function to approximate the non-smooth sandwich systems within a bounded region around the equilibrium point that we are interested in. Afterwards, both observability and controllability matrices are constructed and the methods to analyze the observability as well as controllability of sandwich system with backlash are derived. Finally, numerical examples are presented to validate the proposed method.

This work aims to improve and simplify the procedure used in the Control Adjoining Cell Mapping with Reinforcement Learning (CACM-RL) technique, for the tuning process of an optimal contro ller during the pre-learning stage (controller design), making easier the transition from a simulation environment to the real world. Common problems, encountered when working with CACM-RL, are the adjustment of the cell size and the long-term evolution error. In this sense, the main goal of the new approach, developed for CACM-RL that is proposed in this work (CACMRL*), is to give a response to both problems for helping engineers in defining of the control solution with accuracy and stability criteria instead of cell sizes. The new approach improves the mathematical analysis techniques and reduces the engineering effort during the design phase. In order to demonstrate the behaviour of CACM-RL*, three examples are described to show its application to real problems. In All the examples, CACM-RL* improves with respect to the considered alternatives. In some cases, CACM- RL* improves the average controllability by up to 100%.

In this paper the controllability problem for discrete-time linear switched systems is considered. The main goal is to find a control signal that steers any initial state to a given final state independently of the switching signal. In the paper, it is assumed that there are some constraints posed on the switching signal. Moreover, we present a necessary and sufficient conditions of some kinds of controllability. Three types of controllability, namely: from zero initial state to any final state, from any initial state to zero final state and from any initial state to any final state are considered. Finally, three illustrative examples are shown.
