Przedstawiono zaprojektowany i zbudowany przez zespół czterech dyplomantów Wydziału Mechanicznego Politechniki Gdańskiej samochód sportowy napędzany dwoma silnikami. Jeden z nich umieszczono z przodu pojazdu. Przekazuje on moment obrotowy na koła osi przedniej poprzez zespolony układ napędowy. Drugi silnik, usytuowany z tyłu pojazdu, w identyczny sposób przekazuje moment napędowy na koła osi tylnej. Samochód nazwany Duomoto powstał na bazie dwóch Volkswagenów Golfów GT. Poddano go badaniom drogowym. Wyniki badań oraz wnioski zamieszczono w niniejszym artykule.

The sports car, powered by two engines, designed and built by a team of four graduates of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Gdańsk University of Technology is prezented. One (engine) of them was placed at the front of the vehicle. It transmits the torque to the wheels of the front axle through a combined system. The second engine, located at the rear of the vehicle, in the same way transmits the drive torque to the wheels of the rear axle. The car named Duomoto was built on the basis of two Volkswagen Golf GT. It was subjected to road tests. The test results and conclusions are included in this article.

Motorsport constitutes an excellent research laboratory for the entire automotive industry and all the related industry branches. Since the dawn of motorization, motor vehicle component systems have been developed and improved. This process will go on and there is no doubt that it will never stop. Engines with rising performance require increasing strength of transmission system components. The more efficient use of the power transmission system requires improvements in the suspension system, which will ensure better vehicle handling, and higher efficiency of brakes, so that the vehicles moving with higher and higher speeds can be stopped more effectively. An increase in the cruising speeds entails a higher accident hazard and this, in turn, requires safer construction of the vehicle body. The best way to develop the modifications is to test them in the difficult conditions of professional motorsports. The solutions engineered for this purpose and proven on such a kind of testing ground are afterwards adapted to mass-produced vehicles and used in everyday vehicle operation. This publication is to present the scope of the work to be done when building a high-performance sports car that must meet the requirements of regulations laid down by FIA (Federation Internationale del'Automobile) for vehicles of this type. The works described in this article were undertaken to modify the construction of a mass-produced Renault Clio car of the second generation in order to adapt it for professional motorsports, chiefly for starts in Polish and international rallycross championships. The modifications of this car intended for rallycross racing consisted in the designing or modernization of its individual parts and component units so that they were compatible with the specificity of this sport and were in conformity with FIA requirements.

The paper presents the numerical analysis of the drag force generated on the body of a sports car, based on the CFD method in the Ansys Fluent program. The three-dimensional model of the vehicle was taken from an open CAD database. Based on this, a computational grid was developed, boundary conditions and a turbulence model were defined. As a result of the calculations, the pressure distribution on the individual body parts and the velocity distribution in selected cross sections were obtained. In the next part of the research, the simulation results are used to optimize the shape of the bodywork of different passenger vehicles in order to reduce the generated drag force.

Do obliczeń wykorzystano pakiet ANSYS CFX, natomiast do budowy modelu geometrycznego użyto pakietu Autodesk Inventor.

The object of investigations in the work was symmetrical shaped rear spoiler using in sports cars. The aim of this study was to build a mathematical model and examine its aerodynamical properties in the way of computer simulation using finite element method. The study also examined an asymmetric profile of spoiler and the influence of trailing vortices on the aerodynamic. To solve this problem was used the ANSYS CFX software and to build the geometrical model was used the Autodesk Inventor software.
