Przedsiębiorstwa stale poszukują sposobów tworzenia przewagi konkurencyjnej. W procesie budowania tej przewagi ważną rolę pełni koncepcja logistyki. Ewolucja tej koncepcji wskazuje na coraz częstsze orientowanie się przedsiębiorstw na rozwój łańcuchów dostaw, w których procesy logistyczne mają kluczowe znaczenie. Jednym z rodzajów łańcuchów dostaw, które zasługują na szczególną uwagę, są krótkie łańcuchy dostaw, odgrywające istotną rolę w sektorze rolno-spożywczym. To właśnie w tym sektorze szybkie dotarcie produktu do ostatecznego klienta dzięki krótkiemu łańcuchowi jest często kwestią najważniejszą. Z jednej strony bowiem zapewnia zaspokojenie potrzeb i oczekiwań klientów w odniesieniu do określonych produktów, z drugiej natomiast umożliwia osiąganie wymiernych korzyści przez producentów i dostawców tych produktów. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja przesłanek i przejawów oddziaływania koncepcji logistyki na rozwój krótkich łańcuchów dostaw w sektorze rolno-spożywczym. Artykuł ma charakter koncepcyjny. Na początku przybliżono istotę logistyki postrzeganej jako koncepcja zarządzania przepływami towarów i informacji, a także przedstawiono fazy jej rozwoju. Następnie zaprezentowano istotę i znaczenie krótkich łańcuchów dostaw, mając na uwadze najważniejsze charakterystyki sektora rolno-spożywczego. Ostatnia część została poświęcona przesłankom i przejawom oddziaływania koncepcji logistyki na rozwój krótkich łańcuchów dostaw.

Firms are permanently looking for ways leading to the competitive advantage creation. The concept of logistics plays an important role in the process of building such an advantage. The evolution of the logistics concept shows that firms are increasingly focused on the supply chains formation and development, including the key importance of the logistics processes in supply chain. One of the types of supply chains that deserve the special attention are the short supply chains, playing a significant role in the agri-food sector. It is in this sector that the fast time of product delivery to the end customer is often of the utmost importance. It ensures that the needs and expectations of customers are met. It also enables tangible benefits to be achieved by producers and suppliers. The aim of the article is to identify the most important premises and symptoms of the logistics concept impact on the development of short supply chains in the agri-food sector. The article is of a conceptual nature. Firstly, the nature of logistics as the concept of the goods and information flow management, as well as the logistics concept development were presented. Then the article presents the essence and significance of the short supply chains, bearing in mind the most important characteristics of the agri-food sector. The last part of the article comprises premises and symptoms of the logistics concept impact on the short supply chains development.

An attempt to combine the issue of food supply chains, the market of traditional products and food quality schemes was undertaken. The aim of the article was to indicate and discuss the most important factors influencing functioning of food supply chains in the context of food quality schemes existing in the European Union and on the domestic market. The following factors: food quality systems in force, added value in the entire food supply chains, requirements and nature of demand (consumer choices), challenges of the concept of sustainable development, collaboration and cooperation of the participants in the supply chain were discussed in the article. Attention was also paid to other elements (beyond the scope of this study) that are important in the development of food supply chains and in undertaking further research.

Krótki łańcuch dostaw oznacza łańcuch dostaw, który obejmuje ograniczoną liczbę podmiotów gospodarczych zaangażowanych we współpracę, przynoszący lokalny rozwój gospodarczy . Celem artykułu była ocena przepisów dotyczących krótkiego łańcucha dostaw żywności i próba ustalenia czy regulacje prawne sprzyjają jego rozwojowi. Z uwagi na ograniczone ramy opracowania rozważania skupiały się przede wszystkim na sprzedaży bezpośredniej. W pierwszej kolejności przedstawiono prawne zasady sprzedaży bezpośredniej produktów pochodzenia roślinnego, zwierzęcego oraz działalność marginalną, lokalną i ograniczoną produktów pochodzenia zwierzęcego. Potem zaprezentowane nowe możliwości rozwoju krótkiego łańcuch dostaw żywności przetworzonej przez producentów rolnych od stycznia 2016 r. z uwagi na uchwalenie nowych regulacji prawnych. Artykuł kończy podsumowanie.

A short supply chain is a supply chain that includes a limited number of operators involved in cooperation, bringing local economic development. The aim of the article is to evaluate the legal rules on the short supply chain of foods and to determine whether the regulations are conducive to its development. Due to the limited scope of the article the discussion focuses primarily on direct sales. Firstly, it presents legal rules concerning the direct sales of products of a plant and animal origin as well as marginal, local and restricted activity of animal products. Then, it discusses new opportunities for the development of the short food supply chain processed by agricultural producers from January 2016 due to the adoption of new regulations. The article concludes with a summary.
