The article is important for people with disabilities in relation the problems that plague them in carrying out everyday places. For many patients, work is an opportunity to break away from everyday problems and function on the basis of meeting subsequent goals related to professional work.

Companies operating on the market have to cope with a variety of crisis situations which may adversely affect their development and jeopardise the achievement of their objectives. A crisis situation may, on the one hand, have a negative impact on the development of the company, but, on the other hand, it may provide a stimulus and have a constructive effect on its functioning. One of the factors influencing the ability to function of a business, including crisis situations, is its organisational culture. Therefore, a company responding to the situation should assess the conditions both in its environment and inside it and verify the artefacts, the system of values and the main principles that are the basis for building an organisational culture. Many companies that are dealing with a crisis situation decide to undertake a conscious process of cultural transformation. However, it requires the management to take appropriate actions and the time of a crisis situation is a test for many companies – whether in such a difficult moment something can still be done with the organisational culture, or whether the entrepreneurs can only wait for its inevitable impact on the functioning of the company. The subject of this article is the impact of a crisis situation on changes occurring within the organisational culture. The study attempts to evaluate the role of organizational culture in crisis situations based on the current state of knowledge and crisis events related to COVID-19

Przeanalizowano odpowiedzi 350 pracowników zatrudnionych w 9 działających w Polsce przedsiębiorstwach chemicznych, aby określić poziom zaufania tych osób wobec rozwiązań z zakresu sztucznej inteligencji obecnych w ich miejscach pracy. Badanie wykazało, że poziom ten jest umiarkowanie wysoki.

Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja podstawowych efektów stosowania ICT w polskich przedsiębiorstwach prowadzących działalność innowacyjną (notowanych na rynku NewConnect). W badaniu wykorzystano technikę CASI (badanie na próbie 60 innowacyjnych przedsiębiorstw). Zastosowano metody: analizy, syntezy, dedukcji oraz indukcji.

The results of a comparative analysis of companies operating on the Polish market in 2020 and 2021 are included. The analysis takes into account the quantitative and qualitative aspects resulting from the collected data. Działalność gospodarcza podlega szybkim zmianom. Wpływ na to mają przede wszystkim coraz większe wymagania konsumentów oraz bardzo powszechne wprowadzanie narzędzi informatycznych. Otoczenie, w którym funkcjonuje przedsiębiorstwo jest bardzo dynamiczne. Można też stwierdzić, że dynamika tych zmian coraz bardziej przyśpiesza. To wszystko powoduje, że aby pozostać na rynku i odgrywać na nim znaczącą rolę, przedsiębiorstwa muszą się zmieniać i korzystać z nowoczesnych rozwiązań. Jednym z obszarów, który podlega szybkim zmianom jest logistyka. Dzieje się to głównie za sprawą funkcji tego obszaru działalności gospodarczej. Logistyka spełnia bowiem role służebne wobec podstawowych działalności przedsiębiorstwa. Zarządzający dostrzegają znaczenie logistyki. W przypadku stosowania dosyć jednolitej technologii przez producentów, to właśnie logistyka może decydować o sukcesie przedsiębiorstwa. Dlatego ważna jest znajomość aktualnych trendów dotyczących logistyki, a także innowacji, które są wprowadzane lub w niedalekiej przyszłości będą adaptowane w przedsiębiorstwach.

Celem artykułu jest zidentyfikowanie uwarunkowań wykonywanego zakresu działań logistycznych podczas obsługi zwrotów i reklamacji oraz ukazanie możliwości wdrożenia nowoczesnych technologii systemowych w zarządzaniu procesami logistycznymi. Podjęty do rozwiązania problem badawczy został sprecyzowany następująco: „W czym przejawia się istota zarządzania procesem logistycznym zwrotów i reklamacji w oparciu o infrastrukturę IT w przedsiębiorstwie?”. Przy opracowaniu artykułu wykorzystano metodę badania treści dokumentów oraz metodę analizy, w tym analizy statystycznej i krytyki piśmiennictwa. W pierwszej części artykułu zaprezentowano wyniki badań dotyczące wymogów i standardów współczesnego zarządzania logistycznego przez pryzmat jego wybranych systemów oraz funkcji i zadań przypisanych tym systemom. Druga, zasadnicza część artykułu dotyczy znaczenia i wymogów wobec infrastruktury IT wykorzystywanej w procesach logistycznych zwrotów i reklamacji. Wyeksponowano w tej części także wpływ środowiska RFID na funkcjonowanie procesów logistycznych zwrotów i reklamacji w przedsiębiorstwach handlowych.

The aim of the article is to identify the conditions of the scope of logistics activities performed during the handling of returns and complaints, and to show the possibility of implementing modern system technologies in the management of logistics processes. The research problem undertaken was specified as follows: "What is the essence of managing the logistics process of returns and complaints based on IT infrastructure in the enterprise?" While preparing the article, the method of examining the content of documents and the method of analysis, including statistical analysis and literature review, were used. The first part of the article presents the results of the research on the requirements and standards of modern logistics management through the prism of its selected systems as well as the functions and tasks assigned to these systems. The second, main part of the article concerns the importance and requirements for IT infrastructure used in the logistics processes of returns and complaints. This section also highlights the impact of the RFID environment on the functioning of logistics processes for returns and complaints in commercial enterprises.

Logistyka ukierunkowała się na rynek. Obsługa klienta i jej odpowiedni poziom zaczęły zyskiwać miano priorytetów w działaniach przedsiębiorstw. Wymusiło to obserwowane dziś na rynkach zjawisko powstawania sieci logistycznej, znaczną integrację wielu przedsiębiorstw i organizacji w ramach jednego łańcucha dostaw, znaczne zwiększenie roli najnowszych technologii w działaniach logistycznych. Obserwowane zmiany sprawiły, że współcześnie wiele podmiotów obecnych na rynku logistykę traktuje jako swoistą szansę strategiczną. Niestety, zbyt mało wiemy jeszcze o problemie wykorzystania logistyki jako ważnego elementu uzyskiwania przewagi konkurencyjnej, stąd też celem artykułu jest przedstawienie możliwości logistyki w poprawie pozycji przedsiębiorstw na konkurencyjnym rynku oraz ukazanie jej znaczenia dla organizacji.

Logistics focused on the market, customer service and its appropriate level began to become priorities in activities. It was forced by the phenomenon of the formation of a logistic network observed in the markets today, the significant integration of many enterprises and organizations within one supply chain, and a significant increase in the role of the latest technologies in logistics activities. Due to the observed changes, many entities present on the market nowadays treat logistics as a kind of strategic opportunity. Unfortunately, we still know too little about the problem of using logistics as an important element of gaining a competitive advantage, therefore the aim of the article is to present the possibilities of logistics in improving the position of enterprises in a competitive market and to show its importance for the organization.

Purpose: The aim of the article is to analyse and evaluate the influence of logistics supply chain strategies on the results of enterprises implementing them and creating a supply chain on the example of selected Polish manufacturing and trading enterprises. It presents the theoretical aspects of logistics supply chain strategies in contemporary market conditions. A research methodology has been described and a brief description of the studied population has been made. The results of the research concerning logistics supply chain strategies used in practice by the surveyed enterprises has been presented and an attempt to assess the influence of logistics supply chain strategies on the results of enterprises implementing them and creating a supply chain has been made. Design/methodology/approach: The article is based on the study of literature and own empirical research. The results of author’s own empirical research presented in the article come from more extensive studies concerning the analysis of logistics systems and logistics process management of Polish manufacturing and trading enterprises in the years 2014-2016 in the context of building the competitiveness of enterprises. The research was conducted in 2017 by face-to-face interviews with managers responsible for logistics in the surveyed companies using a questionnaire. 298 manufacturing and trading enterprises from north-eastern Poland were examined (55.4% from the Warmia-Masuria Province and 44.6% from the Podlasie Province), characterized by a diversified competitive position on the market. Findings: Contemporary manufacturing and trading enterprises can use logistics both as a main element to achieve the intended competitive position and as an element to strengthen the adopted by the company method to achieve the intended competitive position. The conducted studies confirmed that the implementation of the adequate to the conditions logistics supply chain strategy allows the enterprise to increase the adjustment of operations to requirements and expectations of customers, respond properly to market challenges, achieve the set goals, implement innovations, increase sales revenues with the same or better financial liquidity than competitors’, reduce costs and reduce capital involvement, and consequently, achieve the competitive advantage and intended competitive position of enterprises creating the supply chain. The most frequently implemented logistics strategy in the best enterprises was the supply chain management strategy. In the majority of the best enterprises, an emergent logistics strategy was implemented, which was in a constant stage of creation and development, and was characterized by a quick response to changing customer requirements, environmental conditions and competitors’ activities. Research limitations/implications: More and more logistics managers manage logistics processes on the scale of the enterprise and the entire supply chain. Creating and implementing a logistics strategy in the supply chain is a very complex process. The article presents only selected aspects of logistics supply chain strategies. The issue of logistics supply chain strategies requires further, in-depth research. Practical implications: The article proposes logistics managers of Polish manufacturing and trading enterprises practical suggestions for using logistics supply chain strategies to achieve the intended competitive advantage. Originality/value: The article fills a cognitive gap regarding logistics supply chain strategies. An extensive review of the literature on logistics supply chain strategies in contemporary market conditions has been made. The article also fills an empirical gap. It presents the results of studies concerning selected aspects of logistics supply chain strategies used in practice by the surveyed manufacturing and trading enterprises. The research results presented in the article can be used by logistics managers of Polish manufacturing and trading enterprises.

Purpose: The aim of the article is to analyse key logistics challenges in the enterprise management in contemporary conditions on the example of selected manufacturing and trading enterprises. On the basis of the literature studies, the author has presented contemporary trends in enterprise management and analysed key logistics challenges related to them. The research methodology has been described and the examined population has been briefly characterized. The results of the research concerning key logistics challenges in the management of the surveyed manufacturing and trading enterprises have been presented. Design/methodology/approach: The article is based on the study of literature and own empirical research. The results of the author’s empirical research presented in the article come from more extensive surveys conducted in 2017 regarding the analysis of logistics systems and logistics processes management in Polish manufacturing and trading enterprises in 2014-2016 in the context of building enterprise competitiveness. The research was conducted by the use of direct interview method with managers responsible for logistics in the surveyed companies using the author’s detailed questionnaire. 298 small, medium and large enterprises were examined from Warmia-Masuria Province (55.4%) and Podlasie Province (44.6%), characterized by a diversified competitive position on the market. Findings: The conducted research confirmed that meeting the contemporary challenges of enterprise management depends more and more on logistics. Logistics activities and logistics solutions enabled the surveyed companies to create competitive advantage, increase profit, profitability and enterprise value, and build competitiveness. Logistics managers from the best surveyed companies combined a strategic approach for creating a comprehensive concept of logistics activities and solutions with a quick and adequate response to permanently changing market conditions. Due to the limited volume of the article, only selected aspects of key logistics challenges in the management of the surveyed enterprises were presented. Research limitations/implications: The literature emphasizes that logistics will have an ever growing influence on enterprise management, which is also confirmed by the empirical studies; more and more logistics managers, including in Polish companies, administer logistics processes on the scale of an enterprise and the entire supply chain, or on the scale of an enterprise including opportunities and threats resulting from the existence of a network of co-operators and opportunities associated with establishing relationships with new co-operators. The issues presented in the article require further, in-depth research. Practical implications: The results of theoretical and empirical studies presented in the article have a practical significance. The author offered logistics managers of Polish manufacturing and trading enterprises practical suggestions for using logistics in the process of enterprise management and presented key challenges related to them. Originality/value: The article fills the cognitive gap regarding the issues of key logistics challenges in enterprise management in contemporary conditions. The author carried out a comprehensive literature review on contemporary trends in the enterprise management and analysis of key logistics challenges related to them. The article also fills the empirical gap. It presents the research results concerning key logistics challenges in management of the surveyed manufacturing and trading enterprises. The research results presented in the article can be used by logistics managers of Polish manufacturing and trading enterprises.

Purpose: Nowadays, the creative industry is a dynamically developing area in the economies of many regions and even whole countries. Enterprises of the creative industry are able to increase the value of life of many people, as well as generate the broadly understood welfare. In this case, it is worth to identify peculiarity of innovative processes and risk management in this kind of enterprises. Design/methodology/approach: In the article, there is described peculiarity of the creative industry in the national economy in Poland in the area of innovative activities. An analysis of the impact of risk on these activities is presented. The paper presents the results of a survey carried out in four industries that are compatible with the Polish Classification of Activity (advertising, architecture & urbanity, IT & software, design). The leading research tool was the CATI questionnaire. To test the statistical significance methods of non-parametric statistics were used. Findings: On the basis of the research results’ analysis, it can be concluded that risk management under the conditions of functioning of enterprises from the creative industry in Poland is not an inherent element of the decision-making processes in the sphere of innovative activities. Originality/value: The article addresses the issue of managing innovation processes in enterprises of the creative industry – with a particular focus on risk management. This issue has not been sufficiently analysed in the Polish and international scientific literature yet. The article also provides a guidance on how to manage risk in innovative processes in the creative industry.

Purpose: The purpose of this work is to presents the concept of innovation and its function in an enterprise. The sources and types of innovations have been described in this work. Innovation strategies used in enterprises were also presented. Design/methodology/approach: Due to the cognitive nature of the article, the aim of the work will be achieved using the method of analyzing the literature on the subject. Literature studies include Polish and foreign publications. Findings: Innovations are a multi-faceted concept and relate to various areas of a company’s operation – products, distribution channels, business processes, service methods, relationship with business partners, marketing and strategic alliances, etc. Nowadays, innovations are the most compelling way to gain a competitive advantage in the market. Innovation strategy depends on the type and size of the enterprise, as well as a company’s financial capabilities. Thanks to financing innovative activities, a company has a chance to achieve long-term growth. In today’s world, it is difficult to survive without innovations. Innovative enterprises have become the driving force of the economy. Originality/value: The article is a review of the literature on innovation. This work can help entrepreneurs who want to innovate their companies and achieve long-term growth. Managers can choose the optimal innovation strategy appropriate for the enterprise.

Purpose: Corporate Social Responsibility should have its origin in law enforcement and consist in the implementation of additional, voluntary practices, reaching further than statutory obligations. These practices should be permanent, strategic, long-term, they are to support the development of enterprises in different areas of operation. The objective of this article is an attempt to present the results of the research into practices of corporate social responsibility in management processes of contemporary enterprises located in southern Poland in the Silesian Voivodeship. Design/methodology/approach: The empirical research was conducted on the basis of anonymous data obtained from the surveys. The target group of the surveyed enterprises was the entities established in the area of southern Poland in the Silesian Voivodeship. Findings: The surveyed enterprises seem to partially take into account corporate social responsibility as the concept of management of business entities, according to which enterprises conduct business activities taking into account not only own profits but also social and environmental interests in their surrounding. The idea and the principles of corporate social responsibility, at the level of the surveyed companies forming logistic structures, while constituting the link of the supply chain, marginally related to raising the awareness of their operations, both leading to the maintenance of relationships with business partners and the actions oriented towards the inside of the organization. Originality/value: This paper provides research results on CSR practices in enterprises of southern Poland, taking into account logistics area and analysis of selected correlations.

The basic activity carried out in the aluminium sections manufacturing market is the extrusion process. The large demand for aluminium products makes it very important for entrepreneurs to achieve the highest possible production effectiveness, expressed in product tons manufactured within a unit of time. The recognition of the factors affecting the machine operation time losses is a valuable source of information that creates the opportunity to introduce changes improving production effectiveness. One of the identified factors affecting production effectiveness, specified through the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) measure, are micro-stoppages, the impact of which is rarely noticeable due to the difficulty in their recording. However, it is extremely important due to the total machine operation time losses. For the purpose of analysing micro-stoppages in selected machines in this paper, the authors used testing tools for the quantitative statistical analysis as well as Pareto charts.

Currently, the industry is called as Industry 4.0, Internet of Things, Industrial Internet of Things, where devices, machines, information, organizations and people are connected to the network. Every day meet new solutions for Industry 4.o can be met, but in parallel with these solutions there are also threats in the field of security of industrial networks. Such threats have been called cyber-attacks or cyber threats. Cybersecurity is the global name of a field aimed at counteracting all types of threats on the web. Cybersecurity is to raise awareness, inform, control and introduce solutions to counteract cyber threats. Enterprises, organizations dealing with the promotion of Industry 4.0, IoT, IIoT, form the appropriate groups, departments, companies whose goal is to counteract all types of cyber-attacks. At present, the thesis can be formulated that cybersecurity of the broadly understood network is more important than the implementation of Industry 4.0. The publication will attempt to present the threats that cybersecurity enterprises must face and the ways and methods to counter them.

The right use of creativity and innovation in business leads to increased competitiveness and development in your company. The progressive use of modern technologies and their presence in the economy causes problems in managing these assets and defining intangible property and their protection, which is directly related to the basic processes of making important decisions in the development of the enterprise. Everyday industrial designs (most often: e.g. new packaging designs), trademarks (e.g. product names, advertising slogans, logos) and other technical solutions (utility models, recipes or inventions), which are the result of creative work in company. The lack of protection of the above intellectual (industrial) goods as a consequence often leads to the appropriation of the idea by the competition and their commercialization on the market without the participation of enterprises.

Pojęcie to jest bardzo istotnym filarem w filozofii Lean Management. Muda określa wszelkie działania, czynności oraz rzeczy, które nie wytwarzają wartości dodanej, a są znaczącą stratą dla naszych biznesów.

The paper aims to test the hypothesis whether high tariffs lead to a high efficiency of electricity suppliers. The authors test this hypothesis on a case of 29 Ukrainian electricity distribution companies. Using the data envelopment analysis and correlation coefficients, grouping the super-efficiency scores, the authors found that in most regions of Ukraine the increase in tariffs no longer leads to increased efficiency. This indicates a weakness of tariff policy in most of the electricity distribution companies. The case showed that rising tariffs can cause a decline in revenue, net income and an increase in accounts payable. This does not allow the electricity distribution companies to provide high efficiency. Apart from this, despite improving the financial performance of most companies, the electricity distribution industry in Ukraine as a whole remains unprofitable. However, the high percentage of foreign investors in this industry indicates a significant potential for increasing the efficiency of Ukrainian energy companies. The government control of the electricity distribution companies more often provides medium efficiency, while the management by foreign investors often provides a high efficiency. The absence of the major owner and the presence of blocking stakes in any investor (government, domestic or foreign investors) has a negative impact on the efficiency of energy companies. Although the case is limited to one country and 29 companies, this study can serve as a model for wider testing of the research hypothesis in other markets and countries.

Celem artykułu jest przetestowanie hipotezy, czy wysokie taryfy prowadzą do wysokiej efektywności dostawców energii elektrycznej. Autorzy testują tę hipotezę na przykładzie 29 ukraińskich dystrybutorów energii elektrycznej. Korzystając z analizy obwiedni danych i współczynników korelacji, grupując wyniki super efektywności, autorzy stwierdzili, że w większości regionów Ukrainy wzrost taryf nie prowadzi już do wzrostu efektywności. Wskazuje to na słabość polityki taryfowej w większości przedsiębiorstw zajmujących się dystrybucją energii elektrycznej. Analiza pokazała, że rosnące taryfy mogą spowodować spadek przychodów, dochodu netto i wzrost zobowiązań. Nie pozwala to firmom zajmującym się dystrybucją energii na zapewnienie wysokiej efektywności. Poza tym, pomimo pewnej poprawy wyników finansowych większości firm, cała branża dystrybucji energii elektrycznej na Ukrainie jest nierentowna. Jednak wysoki odsetek inwestorów zagranicznych w tej branży wskazuje na duży potencjał wzrostu efektywności ukraińskich firm energetycznych. Kontrola rządu nad spółkami dystrybucyjnymi energii elektrycznej częściej zapewnia średnią efektywność, podczas gdy zarządzanie przez inwestorów zagranicznych daje często wysoką efektywność. Brak głównego właściciela i obecność pakietów blokujących u któregokolwiek inwestora (rządowego, krajowego lub zagranicznego) ma negatywny wpływ na efektywność spółek energetycznych. Chociaż przypadek ogranicza się do jednego kraju i 29 firm, to badanie może służyć jako model do szerszego testowania hipotezy badawczej na innych rynkach i w innych krajach.
