Statistical Office data on the age structure of farm owners, with particular emphasis on young farmers – up to 45 years and ARMA data on EU support for young farmers’ farms. In addition to the analysis of the demographic structure of rural society and EU payments for young farmers, as a basis for evaluating this instrument of EU agricultural policy was used the rate of participation of the number of completed applications (group of real beneficiaries) in the total number of farm owners younger then 45 years old (group of potential beneficiaries). It has been shown that such EU aid deepens territorial disparities in Polish agriculture – it has the highest positive impact on agriculture with a high level of development (mainly Kujawsko-Pomorskie and Wielkopolskie Voivodeships), with low impact on the regions of South-Eastern Poland – low level of agriculture.

Modernizacja polskiego rolnictwa w znacznej mierze zależy od przemian struktury agrarnej [Rudnicki 2001; Rudnicki et al. 2002]. Przekształcenia te obejmują strukturę własnościową (proces prywatyzacji ziemi) oraz strukturę obszarową (proces koncentracji ziemi). Cechy te – w warunkach polskiej przestrzeni charakteryzującej się rozdrobnieniem oraz przeludnieniem agrarnym – stanowią najbardziej wadliwy segment rolnictwa [Bański, Stola 2002; Głębocki 2005]. Ze względu na silne oddziaływanie powyższych parametrów na pozostałe cechy wewnętrzne (organizacyjno-techniczne, produkcyjne, strukturalne, społeczne) warunkiem nieodzownym w procesie rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego obszarów wiejskich oraz podnoszenia dochodów rodzin rolniczych jest poprawa przeciętnej powierzchni indywidualnego gospodarstwa rolnego.

The article is an attempt at the analysis of changes in the agricultural structure of the rural municipality (commune) of Brzuze, Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, Poland. It includes changes in the size distribution of agricultural holdings, which are categorised into six area groups. The examination of the ownership structure regards the land under ownership of residents of other administrative units (i.e. beyond the boundaries of the village where their land is situated). For the purposes of the study the data on farm tax as of 1995 and 2014 were used. Upon the analysis it has been concluded that there is an advancing process of agrarian fragmentation caused by a growing number of agricultural holdings (rise from 761 to 865) with a simultaneous decrease in their acreage (fall from 7,333 ha to 6,967 ha), which results in the shrinkage of their average acreage (decline from 9.6 ha to 8.1 ha). It has been demonstrated that over 25% of the total area of the taxable land within the commune under analysis belong to people who do not live in the village of land location. Granted that, the following categorisation has been suggested, whereby the land is owned by residents of: another village within the commune (11.7% of the total acreage of the land at issue); another commune within the poviat (16.7%), another poviat within the voivodeship (26.1%); and another voivodeship (45.5%). The results were presented in a cartographic form (commune divided into villages). The processes taking place in the studied unit weaken its agricultural function, which is taken over by the largest agricultural holdings (in acreage above 15 ha). What is the major cause of these changes is the growing tourist function of the commune

Content available remote Stochastic semigroups and their applications to biological models

Some recent results concerning generation and asymptotic properties of stochastic semigroups are presented. The general results are applied to biological models described by piecewise deterministic Markov processes: birth-death processes, the evolution of the genome, genes expression and physiologically structured models.

We study a non-linear age-structured discrete-time population model and give necessary and sufficient conditions for stability of a positive stationary point. In the case of semelparous species we show that the population converges locally to a population consisted only of individuals at one age. It means that the long-time behaviour of the population depends only on an one-dimensional transformation g. If the reproduction age is an even number we prove that the positive stationary point is unstable and numerical simulations suggest that in this case almost all trajectories behave asymptotically as trajectories corresponding to g.

The paper presents a low sensitive design strategy of analog filter pairs based on a gyrator-capacitor prototype circuit. The prototype circuit is synthesized with the use of topological analysis described in detail in the paper. A set of nonlinear algebraic equations is formulated by matching of coefficients obtained from the symbolic analysis with coefficients from the given transfer functions. Algorithms and programs are elaborated to implement the prototype circuit in switched-current (SI) technique. The elaborated algorithms and programs are illustrated in 3rd order filter pair example.

Artykuł przedstawa mało wrażliwościową strategię projektowania analogowych par filtrów opartą na układzie żyratorowo-pojemnościowym. Prototyp układu jest syntezowany z użyciem analizy topologicznej opisanej szczegółowo w artykule. Zostaje sformułowany układ nieliniowych algebraicznych równań przez dopasowanie współczynników otrzymanych z analizy symbolicznej ze współczynnikami z funkcji transmitancji. Omówione i zaprezentowane zostają na przykładzie pary filtrów trzeciego rzędu algorytmy i programy do implementacji prototypu układu wykonanego w technice przełączanych prądów (Sl).

Content available remote Fragmentation-coagulation models of phytoplankton

We present two new models of the dynamics of phytoplankton aggregates. The first one is an individual-based model. Passing to infinity with the number of individuals, we obtain an Eulerian model. This model describes the evolution of the density of the spatial-mass distribution of aggregates. We show the existence and uniqueness of solutions of the evolution equation.

The paper presents an approach to design, which combines Handel-C, VHDL and C++ languages. Engineers can take advantages of Handel-C language, which covers a gap between popular high level language, like C++ and low level hardware description languages, like VHDL or Verilog. This approach makes design processes more efficient and faster. The design flow is explained based on error diffusion algorithm. To verify the method, the Celoxica RC-1000 card, with Xilinx XCV1000-6 FPGA, was chosen as a hardware target platform.
