The article investigates the problems of the investment management digital transformations at the enterprise, where the instrumental basis based on the system economic theory and integrated IT risk management theory are allocated. The purpose of the study is to develop a recursive and convergence methodology of the investment management of the enterprise digitalization processes. The components of the process of investment digitalization of enterprises are structurally reflected and a deterministic 5-component model of developing a recursive and convergence management methodology based on the digital economy is formed. It is determined that the recursive and conversion methodology is based on the understanding of investment management digital transformations at an enterprise as a complex system, characterized primarily by the diversity and heterogeneity of the constituent elements, numerous internal and external connections, which causes a variety of their interaction, changes in the composition and state of the system. The recursive model provides management of the investment of digitalization in the enterprise as a sequential transition between processes of one level only after all the cycles provided for the current process are implemented. However, such a coherent sequence is possible at the expense of effective information support of each process, which should be implemented on a convergence basis. The precondition for its implementation in the field of digital technologies is civilizational development, consequences of globalization and digitalization.

Celem artykułu jest zidentyfikowanie uwarunkowań wykonywanego zakresu działań logistycznych podczas obsługi zwrotów i reklamacji oraz ukazanie możliwości wdrożenia nowoczesnych technologii systemowych w zarządzaniu procesami logistycznymi. Podjęty do rozwiązania problem badawczy został sprecyzowany następująco: „W czym przejawia się istota zarządzania procesem logistycznym zwrotów i reklamacji w oparciu o infrastrukturę IT w przedsiębiorstwie?”. Przy opracowaniu artykułu wykorzystano metodę badania treści dokumentów oraz metodę analizy, w tym analizy statystycznej i krytyki piśmiennictwa. W pierwszej części artykułu zaprezentowano wyniki badań dotyczące wymogów i standardów współczesnego zarządzania logistycznego przez pryzmat jego wybranych systemów oraz funkcji i zadań przypisanych tym systemom. Druga, zasadnicza część artykułu dotyczy znaczenia i wymogów wobec infrastruktury IT wykorzystywanej w procesach logistycznych zwrotów i reklamacji. Wyeksponowano w tej części także wpływ środowiska RFID na funkcjonowanie procesów logistycznych zwrotów i reklamacji w przedsiębiorstwach handlowych.

The aim of the article is to identify the conditions of the scope of logistics activities performed during the handling of returns and complaints, and to show the possibility of implementing modern system technologies in the management of logistics processes. The research problem undertaken was specified as follows: "What is the essence of managing the logistics process of returns and complaints based on IT infrastructure in the enterprise?" While preparing the article, the method of examining the content of documents and the method of analysis, including statistical analysis and literature review, were used. The first part of the article presents the results of the research on the requirements and standards of modern logistics management through the prism of its selected systems as well as the functions and tasks assigned to these systems. The second, main part of the article concerns the importance and requirements for IT infrastructure used in the logistics processes of returns and complaints. This section also highlights the impact of the RFID environment on the functioning of logistics processes for returns and complaints in commercial enterprises.

Logistyka ukierunkowała się na rynek. Obsługa klienta i jej odpowiedni poziom zaczęły zyskiwać miano priorytetów w działaniach przedsiębiorstw. Wymusiło to obserwowane dziś na rynkach zjawisko powstawania sieci logistycznej, znaczną integrację wielu przedsiębiorstw i organizacji w ramach jednego łańcucha dostaw, znaczne zwiększenie roli najnowszych technologii w działaniach logistycznych. Obserwowane zmiany sprawiły, że współcześnie wiele podmiotów obecnych na rynku logistykę traktuje jako swoistą szansę strategiczną. Niestety, zbyt mało wiemy jeszcze o problemie wykorzystania logistyki jako ważnego elementu uzyskiwania przewagi konkurencyjnej, stąd też celem artykułu jest przedstawienie możliwości logistyki w poprawie pozycji przedsiębiorstw na konkurencyjnym rynku oraz ukazanie jej znaczenia dla organizacji.

Logistics focused on the market, customer service and its appropriate level began to become priorities in activities. It was forced by the phenomenon of the formation of a logistic network observed in the markets today, the significant integration of many enterprises and organizations within one supply chain, and a significant increase in the role of the latest technologies in logistics activities. Due to the observed changes, many entities present on the market nowadays treat logistics as a kind of strategic opportunity. Unfortunately, we still know too little about the problem of using logistics as an important element of gaining a competitive advantage, therefore the aim of the article is to present the possibilities of logistics in improving the position of enterprises in a competitive market and to show its importance for the organization.

Purpose: Nowadays, the creative industry is a dynamically developing area in the economies of many regions and even whole countries. Enterprises of the creative industry are able to increase the value of life of many people, as well as generate the broadly understood welfare. In this case, it is worth to identify peculiarity of innovative processes and risk management in this kind of enterprises. Design/methodology/approach: In the article, there is described peculiarity of the creative industry in the national economy in Poland in the area of innovative activities. An analysis of the impact of risk on these activities is presented. The paper presents the results of a survey carried out in four industries that are compatible with the Polish Classification of Activity (advertising, architecture & urbanity, IT & software, design). The leading research tool was the CATI questionnaire. To test the statistical significance methods of non-parametric statistics were used. Findings: On the basis of the research results’ analysis, it can be concluded that risk management under the conditions of functioning of enterprises from the creative industry in Poland is not an inherent element of the decision-making processes in the sphere of innovative activities. Originality/value: The article addresses the issue of managing innovation processes in enterprises of the creative industry – with a particular focus on risk management. This issue has not been sufficiently analysed in the Polish and international scientific literature yet. The article also provides a guidance on how to manage risk in innovative processes in the creative industry.

Purpose: In order to maintain the highest possible quality of services, more and more often the enterprises make use of proven optimization methods that allow them to maintain competitiveness on the market. One of these methods is spatial placement of workstations that influences the functioning of enterprises. There are many techniques of placing workstations, depending on the business activity run by the company. Design/methodology/approach: This article presents the use of Bloch-Schmigalla triangular method to improve the placement of office workstations in a commercial industry enterprise. The method used allowed to improve the functioning of the company by shortening the time for forwarding of all documents and information. Findings: The use of Bloch-Schmigalla triangular method allowed for quick placement of workstations, new placement of workstations. As a result, the workstations will not be as loaded and specific tasks will be performed faster. The time saved can be used to complete other tasks. Thanks to Bloch-Schmigalla triangular method, the distances between the workstations are equal. Before, the distances between several of the workstations were greater than in the case of other ones. Research limitations/implications: The major limitation of the paper is that it is based on one case of an. In the future, it will be necessary to conduct studies in more organizations so as to find out if the same result can be achieved. Originality/ value: The article concerned the use of the Bloch-Schmigalli method to improve the positioning of office spaces in a commercial industry company. Until now, this method has not been used to improve the quality of work in office positions.

Purpose: The primary aim of the article is to present, examine and discuss an alternative approach to the eco-innovation measurement of enterprises, based on the methodology of life cycle assessment (LCA). Design/methodology/approach: The simplified three-step approach, based on the LCA methodology, was applied to perform the analysis. It consists of the following subsequent stages: environmental assessment, environmental profile of an enterprise and contribution analysis. The environmental profile of the enterprise was calculated using the ReCiPe Midpoint (H) method. Findings: A medium size enterprise manufacturing rubber granulates (ethylene-propylene-diene monomer, EPDM and styrene-butadiene rubber, SBR) was covered by the research. The research proved that the analysed enterprise has the most detrimental impact on the environment in the following impact categories: marine ecotoxicity, natural land transformation and freshwater ecotoxicity. These result predominantly from SBR rubber granulate production. Consequently, due to the specificity of the manufacturing process to be more eco-innovative, the enterprise needs to apply more energy-efficient technologies. Originality/value: This is a fully original research paper that validates an alternative approach to measure and stimulate the implementation of eco-innovation at the micro-level. It complements the currently existing methodologies by taking life cycle and the supply chain perspective into consideration, and thus supports decision-makers in the implementation of the principles of circular economy

Purpose: Corporate Social Responsibility should have its origin in law enforcement and consist in the implementation of additional, voluntary practices, reaching further than statutory obligations. These practices should be permanent, strategic, long-term, they are to support the development of enterprises in different areas of operation. The objective of this article is an attempt to present the results of the research into practices of corporate social responsibility in management processes of contemporary enterprises located in southern Poland in the Silesian Voivodeship. Design/methodology/approach: The empirical research was conducted on the basis of anonymous data obtained from the surveys. The target group of the surveyed enterprises was the entities established in the area of southern Poland in the Silesian Voivodeship. Findings: The surveyed enterprises seem to partially take into account corporate social responsibility as the concept of management of business entities, according to which enterprises conduct business activities taking into account not only own profits but also social and environmental interests in their surrounding. The idea and the principles of corporate social responsibility, at the level of the surveyed companies forming logistic structures, while constituting the link of the supply chain, marginally related to raising the awareness of their operations, both leading to the maintenance of relationships with business partners and the actions oriented towards the inside of the organization. Originality/value: This paper provides research results on CSR practices in enterprises of southern Poland, taking into account logistics area and analysis of selected correlations.

Content available remote Impact of micro-stoppages on overall equipment effectiveness measure

The basic activity carried out in the aluminium sections manufacturing market is the extrusion process. The large demand for aluminium products makes it very important for entrepreneurs to achieve the highest possible production effectiveness, expressed in product tons manufactured within a unit of time. The recognition of the factors affecting the machine operation time losses is a valuable source of information that creates the opportunity to introduce changes improving production effectiveness. One of the identified factors affecting production effectiveness, specified through the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) measure, are micro-stoppages, the impact of which is rarely noticeable due to the difficulty in their recording. However, it is extremely important due to the total machine operation time losses. For the purpose of analysing micro-stoppages in selected machines in this paper, the authors used testing tools for the quantitative statistical analysis as well as Pareto charts.

Celem artykułu jest przeanalizowanie realizacyjnego aspektu działalności organizacji pod kątem doskonalenia jakości zamierzonego przedsięwzięcia. Wdrożenie i utrzymanie systemu zarządzania jakością – to jedno. Skuteczna i efektywna realizacja zleconych zadań – to drugie. Teoretycznie nie ma tutaj konfliktu, wszak w sprawnej firmie łatwiej wykonać dobry produkt. Ale utrzymanie systemu to obowiązek najwyższego kierownictwa, a realizacja zlecenia to obowiązek służb wykonawczych. Tu nie zawsze występuje idealna harmonia. Aby wesprzeć służby wykonawcze, z pomocą przyszli specjaliści od realizacji zleceń, jakimi są duże przedsięwzięcia, pojedyncze zamówienia czy innowacje procesowe lub produktowe. Dlatego autorzy zaproponowali kilka wybranych modeli realizacji przedsięwzięć oraz ich cechy decydujące o przydatności do konkretnego zastosowania.

The purpose of the article is to analyze the implementation aspect of the organization’s activities in terms of improving the quality of the intended enterprise. The implementation and maintenance of a quality management system is one thing. Effective and efficient implementation of the tasks assigned is the second. Theoretically, there is no conflict here, after all, it is easier to make a good product in an efficient company. But maintaining the system is the responsibility of top management, and the execution of the order is the responsibility of the executive services. There is not always perfect harmony here. Therefore, specialists in the implementation of orders, such as large projects, individual orders or process or product innovations, came to the assistance of executive services. Therefore, the authors proposed several selected models of project implementation and their features determining the suitability for a particular application.

The article systematizes the conceptual apparatus, which is used in domestic and foreign literature in the study of phenomena and processes in the field of innovation. The term «digitalization» and its influence on both the micro- (interna! environment of the enterprise) and the macro level (external environment of the enterprise) are studied. The results of innovative activities of enterprises due to digitalization are investigated. The evolution of the category of «innovation» is considered, as well as the fundamental theory of innovation. An author's definition of i nnovation in an enterprise in the context of digitalization is proposed based on a synthesis of scientific thoughts and the use of critical thinking.

W artykule usystematyzowano aparat pojęciowy, który jest wykorzystywany w literaturze krajowej i zagranicznej do badania zjawisk i procesów w dziedzinie innowacji. Badany jest termin „digitalizacja" i jego wpływ zarówno na poziom mikro (środowisko wewnętrzne przedsiębiorstwa), jak i na poziom makro (środowisko zewnętrzne przed­siębiorstwa). Badane są wyniki innowacyjnych działań przedsiębiorstw związanych z digitalizacją. Rozważana jest ewolucja kategorii „innowacji", a także podstawowa teoria innowacji. Zaproponowana przez autora definicja innowacji w przedsiębiorstwie w kontekście cyfryzacji oparta na syntezie podejść naukowych i krytycznego myślenia.

The purpose of the study, which is of a case-study nature, is to present the scope and the role of the process of shaping positive relations with local and regional community, as part of the implemented and being constantly developed, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Using a technique of direct interview, empirical data was obtained via a questionnaire incorporated as a research tool. The results of the study were interpreted using the induction and deduction method. The results reveal that the analysed Company has been building very positive relationships with its social environment for many years. It has been actively involved in providing both financial and material assistance, in relation to the local and regional community. It provides jobs and activates its employees into development of volunteering for the benefit of external stakeholders, i.e. the society. These activities have contributed to the continuous strengthening of the Company’s market position, its brand, and, as a result, to the increase in its value. The enterprise under consideration is a good example to be followed by other business entities operating in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship.

The article aims to fulfill the following two objectives: determine and critically assess the percentage of innovative enterprises within the total number of both Polish industrial enterprises and Polish service enterprises; verify the research hypothesis that the universality of innovation implementation is relatively low, that innovation is diversified in industrial and service enterprises, and that innovation depends on the size of the enterprise and the type of innovation. The article was prepared using the following research methods: cognitive and critical analysis of the literature on the subject, statistical and comparative analysis of empirical secondary material from the Polish Central Statistical Office (GUS), and the projection method. The innovativeness of enterprises was analyzed in terms of enterprise size and type of innovation. Innovation was treated as an indirect measure of the level of managerial activity in shaping innovation policy. In order to verify the hypothesis, the empirical secondary material of the Polish Central Statistical Office was used to analyze the innovative activity of enterprises between 2012 and 2014 and between 2015 and 2017. The results of the analysis confirmed the research hypothesis.

Cooperation with banks is an integral element of enterprisal operations. However, the needs, as well as models of cooperation can be diverse. The goal of the paper is to present and identify the nature of relationships between enterprises and banks. On the basis of literature studies and analysis of examples from practice, the paper presents existing models of enterprise-bank cooperation, both theoretical and those observed in practice. Attention is also paid to the problems observed in this sphere and the need of further changes, necessary to improve cooperation between enterprises and banks.

Under the conditions of the constant changes taking place in the technological, social and economic spheres, one of the desired features of the healthcare system is innovation. Broadly understood innovation is the basic method of overcoming competitive struggle under the system of market regulation in Poland. The goal of the healthcare sector is to provide services that are of high quality and that are available to all who need them in specific areas. Innovative activity in the healthcare sector has to lead to the building of competitive advantage by increasing operational efficiency and providing health service quality. The maintenance and enhancement of market place has led to the support and stimulation of new services, new products and the taking on of best organizational and marketing solutions. The article aims to generate an understanding of the financing sources of the healthcare sector innovation activity in the Łódzkie province. The studies refer to the cooperation of enterprises from the healthcare sector in creating innovations, including the selection of financing sources of innovative undertakings.

Koncepcja dynamicznych kompetencji stanowi paradoks w zarządzaniu, ponieważ bazuje na dwóch pozornie wykluczających się elementach: sztywnych rutynach organizacyjnych i dynamicznych kompetencjach. Rutyny zapewniają powtarzalność i stabilność działań, natomiast dynamiczne kompetencje umożliwiają elastyczne dostosowanie się firmy do wymogów otoczenia. Autorka stawia tezę, że w turbulentnym otoczeniu przedsiębiorstwa powinny wykorzystywać dynamiczne kompetencje dla zdobycia i utrzymania przewagi konkurencyjnej, w sposób rutynowy zmieniając rutyny organizacyjne. Zależności między tymi elementami autorka prezentuje w proponowanym modelu powstawania kompetencji dynamicznych.

The dynamic competences conception is a paradox in management, because it is based on two seemingly dissonant elements: fixed organizational routines and dynamic competences. The routines provide repeatability and stability of operations, whereas dynamic competences allow a flexible adaptation of a company to an environment. Author proposes a thesis, that in a turbulent environment companies should use dynamic competences to gain and keep a competitive advantage, changing the organizational routines in routine way. The dependency between these elements is presented in the proposed model of the creation of dynamic competences.

Celem artykułu jest zbadanie poziomu innowacyjności polskich przedsiębiorstw w latach 2011- 2016. Przedstawione wyniki porównano z danymi przedstawionymi w pracy Baruka [2012, ss. 66-79]. Z analizy porównawczej wynika, że poziom innowacyjności polskich przedsiębiorstw jest niski. Poziom innowacyjności Polski w badanym okresie charakteryzował się tendencją spadkową.

The aim of the article is to examine the level of innovativeness of Polish enterprises in the years 2011-2016. The presented results were compared with the data presented in Baruk’s work. The post-equivalent analysis shows that the level of innovativeness of Polish enterprises is low. The level of innovativeness of Poland in the analysed period was characterised by a downward trend.
