Content available remote An alternative and easy approach to fixed point results via simulation functions
EN
We discuss, extend, improve and enrich results on simulation functions established by several authors. Furthermore, by using Lemma 2.1 of Radenović et al. [Bull. Iran. Math. Soc., 2012, 38, 625], we get much shorter and nicer proofs than the corresponding ones in the existing literature.

The purpose of this paper is to study convergence of a newly defined modified S-iteration process to a common fixed point of two asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive type mappings in the setting of CAT(0) space. We give a sufficient condition for convergence to a common fixed point and establish some strong convergence theorems for the said iteration process and mappings under suitable conditions. Our results extend and improve many known results from the existing literature.

In this paper, we discuss some important and interesting remarks on the concept of occasionally weakly compatible (owc) mappings, which is an active and interesting area of research in the present era. Also, we discuss here the lapses of several authors in quoting the definition of owc maps and provide the corrected proof by including some additional conditions on their results.

Content available remote Hybrid fixed point theorems in symmetric spaces via common limit range property
EN
In this paper, we point out that some recent results of Vijaywar et al. (Coincidence and common fixed point theorems for hybrid contractions in symmetric spaces, Demonstratio Math. 45 (2012), 611–620) are not true in their present form. With a view to prove corrected and improved versions of such results, we introduce the notion of common limit range property for a hybrid pair of mappings and utilize the same to obtain some coincidence and fixed point results for mappings defined on an arbitrary set with values in symmetric (semi-metric) spaces. Our results improve, generalize and extend some results of the existing literature especially due to Imdad et al., Javid and Imdad, Vijaywar et al. and some others. Some illustrative examples to highlight the realized improvements are also furnished.

The purpose of this paper is to prove common fixed point theorems for a family of mappings in symmetric spaces using the property (E.A) and weak compatibility or occasionally weak compatibility. Our results extend some recent results.
EN
The purpose of this paper is to prove a common fixed point theorem for a set of four mappings on a complete metric space, using weak compatibility and a general implicit relation without appeal to continuity. Our results improve and generalize all the results obtained by A. Djoudi in a paper published in 2003.

In this article, the existence of a unique common fixed point of two families of compatible maps of type (P) on a complete metric space and a common fixed point theorem for four mappings on a metric space are proved. These theorems are an improvement over the theorems generalizes Banach Fixed Point Theorems [1], Kannan Fixed Point Theorem [12], Edelstein Fixed Point Theorem [6], Boyd and Wong's Fixed Point Theorem [2], Ćirić's Fixed Point Theorems [3], Das and Naik's [5].

The existence of coincidence points and common fixed points for six mappings satisfying certain contractive conditions without exploiting the notion of continuity in cone metric spaces is established. Our results generalize, improve and extend several well known comparable results in the literature.

The purpose of this paper is to establish a strong convergence of an implicit iteration process to a common fixed point for a finite family of quasi-contractive operators. Our theorems give an armative response to a question raised by [Xu and Ori, Numer. Funct. Anal. Optim. 22 (2001) 767-773 ].

Content available remote Fixed points for set and single valued maps without continuity
EN
In this paper we prove some common fixed point theorems for single valued and set valued mappings on a metric space. The theorems use minimal type commutativity and strict contractivity conditions with no continuity requirements. The theorems extend previous results on delta-compatible and continuous maps of [1] and [11] to a wider class of weakly compatible mappings not necessarly continuous. Also, a common fixed point theorem which applies to a sequence of set valued mappings is given.
