In recent decades, the concept of strategic management at universities has attracted more and more attention. There is a significant increase in the awareness of the importance of well-developed development concepts, both among university employees and management staff. Numerous research studies also discuss the need for changes in that presented area. Unfortunately, the analysis of the literature on the subject shows that more attention is paid to the strategy development phase than to its implementation. There are also few studies examining the influence of factors on the strategy implementation at universities. The area of research was related to factors influencing the process of strategy implementation. This article presents the detailed results of the survey of analysis, which covered the opinions of management and employees influencing the strategy implementation at universities in Poland. The main objective of the study was to measure the operational risk of factors influencing the process of strategy at universities and to specify the factors with the highest operational risk level. The study was conducted using the PAPI (Paper and Pencil Interview) technique, based on the research questionnaire. The method of collecting data in an open (explicit) and standardized manner was used there. For this purpose, a standardized research questionnaire was used.
The aim of the pilot study was to determine whether student travel mapping can be an effective method supporting the improvement of services at a university in the context of creating value for students and their participation in creating this value. In-depth qualitative research was carried out, consisting in conducting semi-structured interviews with students. The study used the customer journey mapping (CJM) method. Students’ experiences related to their interactions with the university were identified from the moment of making the decision to start studying at the university to the moment of formally obtaining student status. The experiments covered the period during the restrictions related to the covid-19 pandemic were in force. Research has shown that journey mapping can be a useful method supporting the improvement of processes related to student service during the recruitment process. It allows for an in-depth analysis of experiences, which shows not only the problems arising at the points of contact, but also feelings and emotions. The use of CJM can help University employees understand students and better adapt service-related processes to their real needs and expectations.

The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of organizational development on organizational effectiveness at Jordanian universities, mediating by resistance to change. The researchers used the descriptive analytical method to scan members’ opinions. Moreover, the researchers designed and distributed a questionnaire to Jordanian universities’ academic staff members. The study’s sample consists of (436) academic staff members. The results show that continuous development has a statistically negative significant impact on resistance to change, and individual resistance has a statistically positive significant impact on organizational resistance. Furthermore, resistance to change played a partially mediating role between organizational development and organizational effectiveness. This study subsides by filling a gap in organizational development literature in the higher education sector, in which empirical studies on the relationship between organizational development, organizational effectiveness and resistance to change have been inadequate until now. This study appears to be the first study that empirically tests the indirect relationship between organizational development and organizational effectiveness via resistance to change.

In particular, the aim of the research was to determine whether these functions are applied to selected systems and how they are presented to users. It will also be presented the issue of the implementation of open access model in this type of databases.
Andrzej Frydecki (1903–1989), architekt i jeden z założycieli Wydziału Architektury Politechniki Wrocławskiej, rozpoczął karierę zawodową pod koniec lat 20. XX w. we Lwowie. W czasie kilkunastoletniej działalności zaprojektował kilkadziesiąt domów jedno- i wielorodzinnych, budynki użyteczności publicznej, kościoły, obiekty kultury i zdrowia. Po wojnie architekt związał swoje losy ze stolicą Dolnego Śląska, gdzie kształcił nowe kadry inżynierskie i opracował wiele projektów, m.in. dla wrocławskich uczelni. W prezentowanym artykule przedstawiono prace Frydeckiego z przełomu lat 40. i 50. XX w. Wszystkie pokazane budowle zostały zaprojektowane w stylistyce bliskiej modernizmowi, ich realizację uniemożliwiły zatem względy ideologiczne, gdyż w 1949 r. do polskiej architektury wprowadzono nową metodę projektową – realizm socjalistyczny.

Andrzej Frydecki (1903–1989), an architect and one of the founders of the Faculty of Architecture at Wrocław University of Technology, began his career in the late 1920s in Lviv. During several years of professional activity he designed dozens of single- and multi-family houses, public buildings, churches, cultural and health care objects. After the end of the Second World War he became associated with the capital of Lower Silesia, where he educated young architects and prepared many projects, e.g. for Wrocław universities. The article presents architectural designs of Frydecki of the late 1940s and 1950s – erected buildings such as the new headquarters and laboratory halls of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Wrocław University of Technology, as well as not so well known concepts, which were not realized (student dormitories, concepts of the technical university campus development, seats of the Faculties of Electrical Engineering and Aviation). All the shown buildings were designed in the style close to modernism; their realization was impossible for ideological reasons as in 1949 in Poland there was implemented a new method of architectural design – the socialist realism.

In the 19th century, in Poland divided among Russia, Austria and Prussia, the occupants hindered access to education for Poles. Fighting the restrictions, the Poles organized scientific institutions, published texts enabling self-study and founded high and academic private schools. In the Polish Kingdom in 19th century these schools were mostly clandestine, becoming legal at the beginning of 20th century. In Galicia, polonized high schools and universities in Lwów and Kraków educated students, including women, from all occupied territories. Many studied abroad. People educated in the second half of 19th century rebuilt the system of higher education in Poland Reborn.

W XIX w., w Polsce podzielonej między Rosję, Austrię i Prusy, zaborcy utrudniali Polakom dostęp do wykształcenia. Walcząc z ograniczeniami Polacy organizowali instytucje naukowe, wydawali publikacje ułatwiające samokształcenie, zakładali średnie i wyższe szkoły prywatne.

Artykuł dotyczy krytycznej analizy rozwoju i dorobku nauk geologicznych w okresie dwudziestolecia międzywojennego. Janem Nowakiem, dotyczących rozwoju geologii w Niemczech.

This article presents a critical analysis of the development and achievements of geological science during the interwar period. It was the time when Polish geologists who were gaining experience, winning approval and academic degrees abroad, returned to the country. They were working at the universities in Warsaw, Cracow, Lvov, Poznan and Vilnius as well as in the State Geological Institute in Warsaw and Oil-Institute in Borislav. Despite many achievements as the discovery of new deposits of ore, iron, phosphorites, hard coal, crude oil and natural gas, the geological sciences struggled at the time with many difficulties and adversity. During the analysis of the Polish geology achievements in the interwar period, certain feeling of discomfort occurred, when comparing after the professor Jan Nowak with the development of geology in Germany.
The article presents the possibility of using selected methods of multivariate analysis in the design of comparative ranking of universities. The set of potential diagnostic variables created by the Chapter of ranking of universities in Poland – ranking of “Perspektywy” and “Rzeczpospolita” by their informative value was verified. The classical and median coefficient of variation to analyze discriminative ability the variables were used, and the parametric method proposed by Z. Hellwig to investigate the degree of correlation of the variables was used. For the construction of university ranking one of the methods of multidimensional comparative analysis – miara Hellwiga was used.

Starting from Michael Rendell and his team's "Managing tomorrow's people", this paper sets out to build a possible future of leadership in Romanian universities. We can ask ourselves if Romanian universities could exist in a Blue, Green and Orange World. How would they look like and how efficient would "corporate" universities be, assuming that the Blue World would prevail in the next 10 years. What should their development strategies be and what labor markets would absorb its graduates? What if universities would be in the Green or Orange World? What leaders should they have then? The analysis of the three worlds is made on the axes of individualism-collectivism and integration-fragmentation. We ask ourselves if we can keep the same coordinates for Romanian universities or is it necessary to consider other cultural dimensions. Could it be that universities in the future will only live in a virtual environment? The question is if such a context could be favorable to the university's mission or will it strictly offer the education from the specialization point of view. Will universities be what they are today or will they just be integral parts of large corporations, who, through these universities, will educate and train their employees? If we accept the Green World, a world open for ecologists, it is most likely that universities will focus mainly on research, leading to nearly the extinction of the professional education component. Actually, such a world leaves the individual in their own home, being let to work in their own environment, in order to avoid extra pollution and to stop them from using the car or any other means of transport. As a result, social interactions are confined to the virtual environment and only in rare and special cases is there a face to face encounter. For the Orange World, the challenges are even greater. If the labor market goes back to the guild era, we notice that there is no more need for individual professional paths and that guilds will be responsible for training and development as well as finding and recruiting the necessary resources. As members of such guilds, employees access professional gateways offered by the network of guilds. Starting from these questions we try to construct possible scenarios for a Romanian reality.
