The article describes the selected criteria for websites usability, which should be meted by the official city websites. As regards quality conditions the main emphasisis putted on end users, those who enjoy offices websites. This publication contains the results of four Poland urban sites, which organized Euro 2012 tournament in Gdansk, Poznan, Warsaw and Wroclaw.

W artykule omówiono nową funkcję map w internetowych serwisach geoinformacyjnych. Zgodnie z teorią komunikacji mapy definiuje się jako przekaz informacji pomiędzy nadawcą a odbiorcą komunikatu, ale mogą być one także graficznym interfejsem użytkownika programu. Mapa staje się często swoistym kartograficznym interfejsem komunikacyjnym, dla którego kluczową rolę odgrywa informacja przestrzenna. Rozszerzenie funkcjonalności graficznego interfejsu strony internetowej umożliwia zaawansowaną integrację i zarządzanie geodanymi oraz użytkowanie i utrzymanie usług geoprzestrzennych, nie tylko geowizualizację w internecie.

A new function of maps on geoinformation websites is presented in this paper. Following the theory of communication, a map is defined as the transfer of information between the creator and the recipient, but it may be also a graphical user interface. The map often becomes just the cartographic interface, for which the spatial location is the basic information. Development of website user interface functionality allows to introduce advanced methods of geodata integration, management and webservices use and maintenance, not only cartographic geovisualization in Internet.
