Occupational health and safety management in "small size" enterprises, with particular emphasis on hazards identification

The article presents the element of occupational health and safety management in enterprises, with particular emphasis on the identification of occupational hazards. The factors that may be a source of occupational hazards have been classified and divided. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of occupational hazards on work safety in the opinion of employees of micro and small enterprises. The research was carried out using the proprietary questionnaire. The results were verified by means of a direct interview with elements of observation. The research was compared with the trends prevailing in the enterprises of the European Union countries according to the results of the research conducted by EU-OSHA. Polish respondents considered physical and psychophysical factors to be the main occupational hazards. The results turned out to be very similar to those presented by EU-OSHA in its publicly available reports. The basic principle of occupational health and safety management, i.e. identification of occupational hazards, is reliability and correctness. Identification of occupational hazards gives the opportunity to take correct and effective corrective and preventive actions reducing occupational risk, for example through the effective use of personal protective equipment, or a more detailed treatment of both introductory and instructional training. The article also highlights the migration of individual occupational hazards, which depends on many factors, both professional and nonprofessional.

Niniejszy artykuł jest ostatnią częścią rozważań na temat czynników szkodliwych w środowisku pracy, a konkretnie w górnictwie odkrywkowym. Jak powszechnie wiadomo, ich występowanie jest nieuniknione, a sugerowane propozycje rozwiązań stanowią jedynie wstęp do głębszej analizy tematu i skutecznych działań w konkretnych warunkach. Po charakterystyce hałasu (,,Kruszywa" nr 3/18, s. 58-61) i pyłów (,,Kruszywa" nr 4/18, s. 82-85) nadszedł czas na drgania.

This article is the last part in a series about noxious agents in work environment, specifically in surface mining. As is generally known, these agents are inevitable, and the suggested proposals of solutions are only an introduction to an in-depth analysis and introducing effective measures in specific conditions. Finally, following noise and dust, it is time for addressing vibrations.

Codziennie miliony pracowników są narażone na czynniki szkodliwe w miejscu pracy oraz wszelkie ryzyko z nimi związane. Tytułowe trzy czynniki są niewątpliwie utrapieniem dla branży górniczej. Niniejszy artykuł ma na celu przybliżenie zagrożeń spowodowanych hałasem. Kolejne dwa obejmą pozostałe czynniki. Skala zjawiska jest ogromna. Warto przyjrzeć się każdemu z osobna, próbując odpowiedzieć na pytanie: czy można temu zaradzić.

Every day millions of workers are exposed to noxious agents in the workplace and all the risks associated with them. The three agents listed in the title are undoubtedly a nuisance for the mining sector. The paper aims to present hazards caused by noise. Another two articles will cover the other two agents. The scale of the phenomenon is huge. It is worth to take a closer look at every agent separately and attempt to answer the question if it can be prevented.
