Efektywność energetyczna i optymalizacja zużycia energii to zagadnienia podnoszone coraz częściej praktycznie we w wszystkich dziedzinach życia. W sposób szczególny dotyczy to budynków i ich infrastruktury, które są jednym z najbardziej energochłonnych obszarów funkcjonowania współczesnego człowieka. Użytkownicy budynków, zwłaszcza tych użyteczności publicznej czy biurowców, łatwo przyzwyczajają się do oferowanego w nich wysokiego komfortu, a ponadto korzystają powszechnie ze zdobyczy współczesnej techniki multimedialnej, grzewczej, wentylacyjnej itp. Sytuacja ta wymaga nowego podejścia do fazy projektowania tego typu obiektów, ich modernizacji i dostosowania do współczesnych wymogów, nie tylko w zakresie komfortu, ale też bezpieczeństwa i efektywności energetycznej. Dlatego konieczne są badania dostępnych już i nowych funkcjonalności systemów automatyki budynkowej, umożliwiających optymalizację użytkowania energii elektrycznej, cieplnej i innych mediów w budynkach, bez utraty odpowiedniego poziomu komfortu ich użytkowania.

Energy efficiency and energy consuption optimization are two more and more important issues in economy, technology and industry. They concern especially the buildings and their infrastructure devices – the most energy-intensive objects. For buildings and their users three questions are important: comfort, safety and optimal cost (investment and operation). To satisfy them, new ways of design and infrastructure subsystems integration are needed. Since it is important to reserach and developement on buildings automation systems and their functionalities as a tool for energy consumption optimization and inteligent measurement systems implementaion – Smart Metering. For this kind of research at AGH-UST in Krakow specialized Laboratory of Energy Efficiency and Building Automation – AutBudNet has been established.

W artykule przedstawiono idee inteligentnego budynku oraz istniejące jego definicje. Pokazano etapy rozwoju tych budowli w nawiązaniu do pojawiających się na rynku nowych technologii. Zaprezentowano również podstawowe systemy automatyki, bezpieczeństwa i informacji. Omówione zostały również podstawowe systemy integrujące systemy automatyki i bezpieczeństwa jak: BMS, SMS, BMCS. Pokazano również zalety stosowania zintegrowanych systemów automatyki budynku.

The article presents ideas of intelligent buildings and its current definitions. It shows periods of development of these buildings with reference to new technology appearing on market. It also presents basic automation, security and information systems. The basic integrating of the automation and security systems as BMS, SMS, and BMCS have been also discussed. The article also presents the advantages of using integrated systems of the building automation.
