Increasing the role of sustainable production benefits in transforming manufacturing towards the sustainable organisation. The proposed model integrates two dimensions, namely, the Sustainable Business Model (SBM) and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and defines it as the SBM-ERP. This paper focuses attention on determining SBM-ERP based on the literature research, Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (F-AHP) method and the results of the analysis on the experiences with the implementation of the ERP system in manufacturing. It was determined that the proprietary approach allows the company’s sustainable manufacturing activities to be organised and monitored, based on real-time data and information, as updated and included in the ERP system. We also emphasized the practicality of the proposed approach for managers of manufacturing companies with an implemented ERP system.

This article describes the Integrated Military Information System (IMIS), which is being gradually introduced in the Ministry of National Defense. The modern IMIS system is intended to form the foundations of effective management of the Air Force logistics. At present, military units often have to carry out their tasks in a coalition or allied environment and the integrated information system is a key to ensuring a successful outcome of these activities. This author also focus on airbase tasks on the example of 42 Aviation School Airbase in Radom. The article also describes the implementation effects of IMIS on enhanced functioning of the airbase logistics in this process.

Artykuł koncentruje się na kwestiach dotyczących korzyści wdrożenia systemu informatycznego na przykłądzie branży kurierskiej. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest ukazanie konieczności stosowania rozwiązań informatycznych wspomagających obsługę skomplikowanych usług branży KEP, a także analiza korzyści wynikających z jego zastosowania na przykładzie polskich oddziałów firmy kurierskiej. Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika, że na etapie wprowadzania systemu ERP i jego wdrażania w podmiocie badań sprawdzana była funkcjonalność, jak i błędy kontrolne – 78% respondentów potwierdziło, że czynności te są wykonywane systematycznie w firmie. Wraz ze wdrażaniem systemu ERP starano się jak najbardziej zachować wysoką jakość realizacji działań, zgodnie z normami zarządzania jakością, występowanie tego typu działań potwierdza 59% badanych. Przeważają następujące formy zastosowania ERP: tworzenie statystyk sprzedaży – 35% oraz kalkulowanie cen sprzedaży – 34%. Wprowadzony system ERP jest przydatny według 72% pracowników firmy kurierskiej

The article focuses on issues regarding the benefits of implementing an IT system on the courier industry. The aim of this paper is to show the need of the use of IT solutions supporting the complex services of the KEP branch, as well as to analyze the benefits resulting from its use on the example of Polish branches of a courier company. The research shows that at the stage of implementing the ERP system in the research subject, functionality and control errors were checked. On the basis of the conducted research we can say that 78% of respondents confirmed that these activities are performed systematically in the company. Along with the implementation of the ERP system, efforts were made to maintain the highest quality of implementation of activities. In accordance with quality management standards, the presence of such activities is confirmed by 59% of respondents. The following forms of ERP application prevail: creation of sales statistics – 35% and calculation of sales prices – 34%. The introduced ERP system is useful according to 72% of employees of the courier company.

Appropriate management of waste streams is a very important part of business operations as it is reflected in the reduction in the flow and use of materials. It also minimizes negative impact on the environment. The article discusses the capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics NAV in the management of reverse logistics processes. We also developed a system supporting reverse logistics as a module for Microsoft Dynamics NAV. It automatically counts waste dividing them into appropriate groups. At the time of writing there was no direct support for waste management in the Dynamics NAV system.

It also examples of implementations of such a system in selected enterprises sector metal were presented. W artykule poruszono zagadnienia odnoszące się do stosunkowo nowego, szczególnie w Polsce, zagadnienia, jakim jest to odnoszące się do systemów pick by voice. W trakcie realizacji tematu starano się odpowiedzieć na trzy pytania badawcze, które dotyczyły tego, w jaki sposób funkcjonują te systemy, w jakich obszarach logistyki są najczęściej wykorzystywane, a także jakie korzyści mogą być uzyskiwane w następstwie ich stosowania przez poszczególne przedsiębiorstwa. Praca została podzielona na dwa główne rozdziały. W pierwszym podjęte zostały zagadnienia odnoszące się do kwestii terminologicznych, bowiem wyjaśniono istotę pojęcia voice picking, jak również terminów, które dotyczą procesów i czynności wspomaganych przez te systemy, czyli komisjonowania oraz kompletowania zamówień. W tej części pracy omówiono ponadto najważniejsze elementy i cechy systemów pick by voice. Z kolei w drugim rozdziale skupiono się kolejno na opisaniu obszarów zastosowań tych systemów, jak również korzyści, które są generowane w następstwie ich wykorzystywania.

This paper describes the issues relating to the relatively new, especially in Poland, the issues, which is related to the pick by voice systems. It identified three research questions that concerned that, in the operation of the systems in which areas of logistics are most commonly used, and what benefits can be derived as a result of their use by individual companies. The work is divided into two main sections. In the first undertaken on the issues relating to the question of terminology is explained the essence of the concept of voice picking, as well as the terms that apply to processes and activities supported by these systems, or picking and picking orders. This section also discusses the most important elements and features a pick to voice systems. On the other hand, in the second chapter of focus in order of describing the application areas of these systems and the benefits that are generated as a result of their use.

One of the areas of the company, which must continually improve are the logistical processes. Without them the company could not deliver the product to the customer, carry out the tasks of production, or make orders. IT systems is a major factor in improving the business. Hence the extremely important role of information systems in modern business practice, in particular in the logistics industry. The article presents the use of selected information systems in the logistics industry based on data from the Central Statistical Office. The analysis covered the period from 2007 to 2014.

Rozbudowane systemy informatyczne już od dłuższego czasu odgrywają coraz większą rolę w życiu gospodarczym. Objawia się to we wszystkich formach działalności przedsiębiorstw, w tym również w logistyce. Systemy IT są istotne nie tylko w aktywności logistycznej pojedynczych podmiotów gospodarczych, lecz usprawniają także funkcjonowanie w ramach zintegrowanych łańcuchów dostaw. W artykule podjęto rozważania dotyczące właściwego doboru systemu informatycznego dla operacji logistycznych. Zostaną w nim porównane wybrane systemy IT dedykowane logistyce: ich zakres funkcjonalności i cechy użytkowe, a także możliwość wykorzystania w konkretnych typach przedsiębiorstw. Podstawowym celem artykułu jest analiza przydatności poszczególnych systemów ERP w głównych obszarach działalności logistycznej: gospodarce magazynowej, transporcie, jak również w wybranych obszarach powiązanych z logistyką przedsiębiorstwa. Uszczegółowieniem rozważań jest próba wyboru rozwiązania najlepszego.

Extensive IT systems have had an increasingly important role in economic life since long time. It is visible in all forms of business operations, including logistics. IT systems are important not only in the logistics activities of individual operators but also improve the functioning in the framework of integrated supply chains. In the article, the Author considers the proper selection of IT systems for logistics operations. The selected IT systems dedicated to the logistics have been compared: their of functions range and functional characteristics, as well as the ability to introduction in the specific types of businesses. The main aim of this article is to analyze the suitability of each of ERP systems in key areas of logistics activities: warehousing, transport, as well as in selected areas related to logistics companies. The considerations of the best solution choice is the consideration clarification.

Such systems contain mechanisms to assist in the management of all structures in the company and are based on forecasting and planning processes. The successful implementation of an ERP system usually brings the company a lot of benefits, ranging from improving the information flow through to improved profitability increase.

Wymiana danych pomiędzy systemami jest bardzo złożonym procesem. Jest to wypadkowa ogromnej różnorodności narzędzi komunikacyjnych, różnic w strukturze systemów, sposobów przechowywania danych itp. Dlatego też pożądana przez przedsiębiorców integracja systemów staje się równie ważnym wyzwaniem co samo posiadanie systemów. Integracja systemów jednak odpowiedzialna jest tylko za wymianę informacji. Pojęciem szerszym od integracji jest interoperacyjność. Traktowana jako własność systemów, pozwala nie tylko na wymianę informacji, ale także wzajemne zrozumienie między nimi. W niniejszej pracy przedstawiono koncepcję zastosowania warstwy pośredniczącej w wymianie informacji, która mogłaby zapewnić interoperacyjność systemów w przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym. Struktura aplikacji została oparta na trzech elementach: przekształcaniu, weryfikacji kompletności i walidacji danych, które mogą być wymieniane pomiędzy systemami ERP i MES. Każdy z tych elementów jest omówiony w pracy. Aplikacja wykorzystuje jednolity model danych w oparciu o dedykowany język B2MML.

The exchange of data between systems is a very complex process. This is the resultant of a huge variety of communication tools, the differences in the systems' structure, data storage, etc. Therefore, integration of systems - highly desired by businesses - becomes equally important challenge as the possession of the systems. Systems integration, however, is responsible only for the exchange of information. Wider notion from integration is interoperability. Treated as a systems property, allows not only to exchange information but also mutual understanding between them. The paper presents the concept of middleware application that could provide the interoperability of enterprise systems. The application structure was based on three aspects: the transformation, completeness verification and validation of data that can be exchanged between ERP and MES systems. Each of these aspects is discussed in this paper. The application uses a unified model of data based on a dedicated language B2MML.

Nowadays, the development of new products is supported by the use of an ERP system in an increasing number of companies. An ERP system reflects business processes in an enterprise, including the field of logistics concerning supply, production and distribution. A typical ERP system comprises of an enormous amount of data that can be used for the improvement of project parameters estimation, such as project duration and cost. The ERP database includes data from previous projects, which is also connected with the logistics processes, e.g. the delay of material delivery by suppliers. The paper investigates the use of an ERP database to identify the factors in the field of logistics that significantly influence on new product development.
