Purpose: The aim of the article is to show e-learning as a system for disseminating knowledge about managing the sustainable development of chemical organizations. Design/methodology/approach: A qualitative methodology was selected, which enables the study of the importance of an e-learning platform in managing knowledge about sustainable development in a chemical enterprise. Findings: Literature studies allowed to development of the concept of an e-learning platform, the components of which are the processes of searching, discounting, and protecting knowledge about sustainable development, necessary for effective management in a chemical company. Originality/value: Disseminating knowledge about sustainable development among employees of a chemical company is of practical importance. This article aims to fill a research gap in the field of acquiring, discounting, and protecting knowledge using an e-learning platform.

Ethical leadership is of significant importance in every organization and the organizational practice in general, because the leaders who encourage ethical behaviour and activity inspire others to follow their example. Ethical leadership and the implementation of ethical programmes in organizations exist as specific, yet direct ways towards sustainable development, sustainable communities, and sustainable regions, if they contain elements of sustainability. However, it is necessary to initiate an expert discourse with the social partners, begin cooperation with top teams, and formulate common strategies regarding competencies of the leaders and experts in ethics. The aim of our article is to clarify the relevant theoretical framework as well as the concept of sustainability, determine ethical principles and goals, and last but not least, justify their relevance in the context of organizational practice, sustainable development, and sustainable communities.

Przywództwo etyczne w praktyce organizacyjnej w każdej organizacji jest bardzo ważną kwestią, ponieważ przywódcy, którzy zabiegają o etyczne postępowanie i zachowanie, jednocześnie motywują do tego samego innych. Przywództwo etyczne i wdrażanie strategii etycznych w organizacjach mogą być specyficznymi, lecz prostymi drogami do zrównoważonego rozwoju, zrównoważonych społeczności i zrównoważonych regionów, jeśli uwzględniają aspekty zrównoważonego rozwoju. W związku z tym konieczne jest rozpoczęcie specjalistycznego dyskursu, nawiązanie współpracy z czołowymi zespołami, rozwijanie dialogu z partnerami społecznymi i sformułowanie wspólnych strategii dotyczących kompetencji liderów i ekspertów w dziedzinie etyki. W niniejszym artykule Autorka postara się wyjaśnić ramy teoretyczne i koncepcję zrównoważo-nego rozwoju, określić zasady etyczne i cele oraz uzasadnić ich znaczenie z perspektywy praktyki organizacyjnej, zrównoważonego rozwoju i zrównoważo-nych społeczności.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstw zgodnie z zasadami zrównoważonego rozwoju. Przedstawiono istotę zrównoważonego rozwoju jako sposobu na ograniczenie destrukcyjnej działalności gospodarczej przedsiębiorstw. Wskazano na społeczne i ekologiczne problemy, przed jakimi stoją współczesne przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjne. Określono wpływ zrównoważonego rozwoju na działalności biznesową przedsiębiorstw. Zaprezentowano koncepcję zrównoważonego marketingu przedsiębiorstw.

The purpose of the article is to present to method for the assessment of the process maturity with regard to the aspects of sustainability. The authors discuss the steps of the method and present test results for a selected group of remanufacturing companies in automotive sector.

Coraz mniej czasu pozostało nam do 1 maja 2004 r. Będziemy wtedy świętować podwójnie: Święto Pracy i święto przystąpienia do Unii Europejskiej. Od naszego przygotowania zależy, które z tych świąt będzie obchodzone radośniej. Obecnie w polskim prawie w zakresie gospodarki odpadami pozostają obszary nieuregulowane, nie wspominając już o niezbędnej nowelizacji ustawy o obowiązkach przedsiębiorców. Niezależnie od zapewnień przewodniczącego Sejmowej Komisji Europejskiej o wysiłkach czynionych przez polskich parlamentarzystów w dziedzinie dostosowania prawa polskiego do europejskiego nie możemy się spodziewać, że w momencie wejścia do Unii Europejskiej wszystko już będzie dobrze.

The paper presents the cleaner production goals and definitions, the source reduction as the most valuable pollution prevention method and two case studies of the cleaner production implementation. The implementation of the cleaner production technologies offers a chance to realize the concept of the sustainability development. To realize the sustainability development we need to achieve a consensual agreement for the protection of the environment which has been proposed by The Natural Step Theory TNS. There are two suggested ways of the production systems transformation using pollution prevention. The first one is the eco-efficiency, the second one - the system changes. This leads to the concept of the coefficient ,,10", one of the basic ideas of the sustainability development. It could be assumed that in the 21st century there will be observed a few jump-like system renewals resulting from a long-term research on the time scale every 20 years. These will lead to new fundamental societal and economic ecosystems.
