Użytkownik pojazdu znajdujący się wewnątrz pojazdu podczas wypadku chroniony jest przez nadwozie, które ogranicza możliwość doznania urazów podczas zderzenia. Jeśli osoba znajdująca się wewnątrz samochodu nie jest zapięta w pas bezpieczeństwa, to dozna obrażeń w następstwie silnego i gwałtownego uderzenia o elementy wnętrza pojazdu. Osoby zapięte w pas bezpieczeństwa mogą również doznać obrażeń, ale ich nasilenie powinno być mniejsze, ponieważ użytkownik pojazdu, będąc związanym z fotelem nie ma możliwości swobodnego przemieszczania się w kierunku oddziałujących na jego ciało sił bezwładności. W artykule na podstawie studium zaistniałego wypadku drogowego zaprezentowano wybrane elementy analiz umożliwiających ustalenie czy dana osoba podczas wypadku była zapięta w pas bezpieczeństwa. Szczegółową analizę przeprowadzono dla pasażera pojazdu.

The being user of the vehicle inside the vehicle during the accident is being protected by the body-work which the possibility of sustaining injuries while colliding is limiting. If the being person inside the car isn't done up into a seat belt will sustain injuries as a result of strong and violent hitting on elements of the inside of the vehicle. Persons done up into a seat belt can also sustain injuries, but increasing them should be smaller, since user of the vehicle being associated with the armchair there is no possibility of the free migration towards inertial forces having an influence on his body. In the article based on the study of existing road traffic accidents chosen elements of analyses enabling to establish whether a given person during the accident was done up into a seat belt were presented.

The article shows the effectiveness of the Swedish safety systems in transport. The introduction of new methods of transport management has made it one of the safest in Europe. In the article shown to minimize the risk of a hazardous event and thus a significant reduction in the number of deaths due to effective management methods.

Artykuł ukazuje skuteczność zastosowanych w Szwecji systemów bezpieczeństwa w transporcie. Wprowadzenie nowych metod zarządzania transportem uczyniło go jednym z najbezpieczniejszych w Europie. W artykule ukazano minimalizację ryzyka wystąpienia niebezpiecznych zdarzeń a co za tym idzie znaczne zmniejszenie liczby ofiar śmiertelnych dzięki skutecznym metodom zarządzania.

Wypadki drogowe uznaje się za jeden z największych problemów zdrowia publicznego. W 2010 roku w Polsce, miało miejsce 38 832 wypadków drogowych. Zginęło w nich 3 907 osób, a 48 952 zostało rannych. Liczne badania, prowadzone na świecie pokazały, iż niektórzy uczestnicy wypadków drogowych oraz ich rodziny doświadczają problemów natury psychicznej, a u wielu, konsekwencje, jakie pojawiają się po wypadku zaburzają ich funkcjonowanie społeczne. Niniejszy artykuł zawiera informacje dotyczące psychicznego i społecznego funkcjonowania ofiar wypadków drogowych. Przebadano również 8 osób, które zgłosiły się do Ośrodka Interwencji Kryzysowej w Łodzi, celem uzyskania pomocy psychologicznej.

Road traffic accidents are considered as one of the biggest public health problems. In 2010 in Poland, there were 38 832 accidents. 3 907 people were killed in it, and 48 952 were injured. A lot of studies conducted worldwide have shown that many road accidents participants and their families, experiencing mental problems, and the consequences of the accidents disturb their social functioning. The article contains the information concerning the psychosocial functioning of accident victims. The study included eight people who have experienced psychological difficulties after the accident and came for help to the Crisis Intervention Center in Łódź.

The article discusses the subject of road safety by means of the analysis of road traffic accidents with particular emphasis on accidents involving tram fleet in terms of the planned tramway investment program for the years 2008 - 2013 in Silesian Agglomeration. Due to the nature of the location of tracks in the road or in their direct neighborhood, accidents involving tram fleet are included in the majority of road accidents. This article presents a summary of road accidents involving the tram fleet, and their cost compared to all road accidents in the years 2006 - 2008 in Silesia.
