Projekt „Modernizacja transformatorów blokowych w ESP Porąbka – Żar” jest pierwszym w historii Zakładu Transformatorów EthosEnergy Poland S.A. kompleksowym zadaniem obejmującym nie tylko prace związane ściśle z wyprodukowaniem transformatorów, ale również szereg prac modernizacyjnych układów pomocniczych. W ramach projektu konieczne było zaprojektowanie, produkcja, transport oraz instalacja nowych transformatorów oraz szeregu urządzeń wspomagających, takich jak układ chłodzenia czy system przeciwwybuchowy SERGI.

The project “Modernization of GSU transformers in Porąbka – Żar pumped-storage power station” is the first comprehensive project of the Transformer Product Line which comprises not only manufacturing of transformers but also assembly and many ancillary works. To succeed there was necessary to design, manufacture, transport and commission the transformers as well as many auxiliary components e.g. water cooling system or SERGI anti-explosion system.

W artykule opisano największą europejską elektrownię szczytowo-pompową Dinorwig w Wielkiej Brytanii. Poza celami budowy i funkcjonowania opisano zasady działania obiektu, podkreślając rekordowo krótkie czasy niezbędne do uruchomienia elektrowni tak do pracy turbinowej, jak i pompowej. Szczegółowo opisano konstrukcję elektrowni: górny zbiornik retencyjny, jezioro napiętrzone będące zbiornikiem dolnym i samą podziemną elektrownię o mocy 1728 MW wraz z derywacją ciśnieniową. Na zakończenie podkreślono niezwykle ważną rolę, jaką odgrywa i będzie odgrywała elektrownia Dinorwig w brytyjskim systemie energetycznym.

The article describes the largest European pumped storage water power plant - Dinorwig in Great Britain. Besides the goals of construction of the plant, it describes the principles of its functioning, underlining record times required to launch the power plant in the turbine, as well as the pump mode. The article also describes details of the power plant construction: the upper retention reservoir, the dammed lake constituting the lower reservoir and the underground power plant of the capacity of 1728 MW with pressure derivation. In conclusion, the author underlines the particularly important role that the Dinorwig power plant plays and will play in the British power supply system.

For the problem of integrating wind power in a large scale, constructing an objective function which minimize the total production cost of the pumped storage and thermal power unit. Improved harmony search algorithm with examples are applied in solving the objective function,and the case analysis the change of the operation cost of wind storage system and greenhouse gas emission with different power demand and wind speed forecasting scenes. The results show that the increase of wind power installed capacity can reduce the operation cost of wind storage system and reduce greenhouse gas emission. At the same time,it also can effectively smooth wind power output and lower the volatility of the wind power integration.

Artykuł dotyczy zagadnienia tworzenia dużych ferm wiatrowych i kontroli kosztów wytwarzania energii. Proponowany algorytm minimalizacji strat, poddaje analizie czynniki taki jak koszty magazynowania energii, emisja gazów cieplarnianych przy różnym stopniu zapotrzebowania energetycznego i prędkości wiatru. Przedstawiono wyniki badań oraz wnioski.

In the paper the author focuses attention on the problem of the influence of lateral density changes in topographical masses on gravity and geoidal height computation. In computing the geoidal heights, the density is usuall modelled by the mean crust density p0=2670kg.m-3. The density of water in lakes differs significantly from this value. To answer the question of how large an error can be caused by this onfluence we divide it into primary, secondary and idirest effects. An estimation has been made for an artificial lake near the pumped-storage power station in Zarnowiec, Gdansk district.

The paper presents problems which arised in the 20-years period of exploitation of the pumped-storage power station Porąbka-Żar. It discusses also observed failings of design and construction of that object, particularly concerning the turbin sets, as well as the carried out modernizing works which improve the safety conditions of work of the station. There is also presented an analysis of damages to-the plant which occurred within the past period of exploitation of the power station and the undertaken preventive measurs.
