W pracy przedstawiono podstawowe informacje o projektowaniu obliczeniowym i programowaniu wizualnym. Przedstawiono krótką klasyfikację projektowania obliczeniowego. Wskazano na konieczność stosowania programowania w projektowaniu obliczeniowym. Języki wizualne, wykorzystywane w środowiskach CAD przygotowanych do projektowania obliczeniowego, są dość chętnie stosowane przez projektantów na każdym etapie tworzenia projektu. Przedstawiono przykład programowania wizualnego do modelowania konstrukcji powłokowej.

This paper presents basic information about computational design and visual programming. A brief classification of computational design is presented. The necessity of using programming in computational design is indicated. Visual languages, used in CAD environments prepared for computational design, are quite readily used by designers at every stage of design development. An example of visual programming for modelling a shell structure is presented.

The relationship between cultural and geographic parameters in algorithmic design – sample algorithm

The article presents selected issues related to the role of cultural and geographic parameters in architectural and urban design. The author defines the groups of parameters and analyses a relationship between them and its influence on design process. The relationship between the groups of parameters is presented at the example of evolutionary algorithm that searches for proper location for Roman military camp. Presented algorithm is an example of possible usage of the relationship between the groups of parameters in modern algorithmic design where cultural factors are used for evaluation of geographic parameters.

Artykuł przedstawia wybrane zagadnienia związane ze znaczeniem parametrów kulturowych i geograficznych w projektowaniu architektonicznym i urbanistycznym. Autor definiuje grupy parametrów oraz analizuje zachodzącą między nimi zależność i jej wpływ na proces projektowania. Relacja pomiędzy grupami parametrów została przedstawiona na przykładzie algorytmu poszukującego lokalizacji dla historycznego obozu rzymskiego. Prezentowany algorytm jest przykładem możliwości zastosowania zależności pomiędzy grupami parametrów we współczesnym projektowaniu algorytmicznym, gdzie czynniki kulturowe mogą zostać wykorzystane w celu ewaluacji parametrów geograficznych.

This articles explores possibilities of employing algorithmic design techniques in the design of high-rise building located in a city downtown. Complexity of such designs creates a perfect test field for verification of usefulness of algorithmic design in architecture. Examples of algorithmic design procedures are being presented both for the initial stage of the design when extensive analysis are being performed as well as for the conceptual design stage when it is utilized for finding design solutions. Creation of algorithmic procedure controlling the design allows to streamline and extend solution finding design process. Automation of the process of solution searching requires optimization to be employed. Presented algorithmic design procedures are being illustrated with the design projects created by ASK WAPW master students.
