The application of artificial intelligence methods in polyethylene film production process control

The paper presents the design of a fuzzy controller whose task is intelligent, linguistic rule based control of thickness of the extruded polyethylene film. The structure of the fuzzy controller was developed; then, its model was built in MATLAB SIMULINK program and simulations were run to verify its performance under laboratory conditions. Based on the investigation, it can be concluded that the developed controller enables precise adjustment of polyethylene film thickness, taking into account disturbances caused by internal and external factors.

W artykule przedstawiono możliwości stosowania języka Visual Basic for Application do kontroli pracy kombajnu ścianowego na przykładzie opracowywanej aplikacji. Opisano również założenia pełnej aplikacji oraz jej funkcjonalność. Podkreślono również potrzebę stosowania analiz pracy maszyn w kontekście kontrolnej funkcji zarządzania.

This paper presents the possibilities of using Visual Basic for Application to control the work of the shearer on the example of the developed application. The assumptions of the full application and its functionality are also described. The paper also emphasized the need to use machine analysis in the context of control management functions.

Omówiono rosnące znaczenie statystycznego sterowania procesami produkcyjnymi oraz zasady budowy systemów typu Six Sigma. Przedstawiono ideę narzędzi statystycznych nowego typu, jakimi są systemy uczące się, dotychczas nie stosowane w tego typu systemach. Zaprezentowano działanie tzw. naiwnego klasyfikatora Bayesa i przedyskutowano możliwości jego zastosowań w praktyce produkcyjnej.

Growing significance of statistical process control and principles of the Six Sigma type systems are discussed. An idea of new type of statistical tools, i.e. learning systems is presented. Functioning of naive Bayesian classifier is shown and its practical capabilities are discussed.
