On some operations on finite affine planes applied to the theory of regular configurations

We consider some operations on affine planes which resemble the construction of a derived affine plane at a point of the Benz plane. We call them Benz-contractions (B-contractions) , distinguishing between chain contractions and generator contractions. We prove that the Pappos-Pascal configuration is the B-contraction of the affine plane of order 4 and we relate it to the Havlicek-Tietze configuration. We present a new (HT)o-configuration and research some problems of embeddability for (P-P), (H-T), and (HT)o. We propose a method of finding (n - 2) regular configurations on an arbitrary affine plane of order n. Among them are pairs of configurations with dual type and each such a pair can be completed with one point and n -f 1 lines to the initial plane. We prove that for an arbitrary n odd, the non-existence of the symmetric configuration ( n2-1/2, n+1/2) the non-existence of the projective plane of order n. On the basis of Gropp's article flOj, we solve some current problems concerning the existence of non-symmetric configurations with a natural index.

There are three kinds of Benz planes: Mobius planes, Laguerre planes and Minkowski planes. A Minkowski plane satisfying an additional axiom is connected with some other structure called a nearaffine plane. We construct an analogous structure for a Laguerre plane. Moreover, our description is common for both cases.

The paper deals with some variants of Pappus's axiom on an affine plane. The consequences of the acceptance of this axiom in projection formulation in affine geometry were analyzed. It has been shown that classical affine formulation results from such a form of the Pappus' axiom.

Pracę poświęcono wariantom aksjomatu Pappusa na płaszczyźnie afinicznej. Przeanalizowano konsekwencje przyjęcia tego aksjomatu w sformułowaniu rzutowym w geometrii wykreślnej. Wykazano, że z takiej postaci aksjomatu Pappusa wynika sformułowanie klasycznie afiniczne.

In the article, there have been discussed polar conics, which can be obtained on the assumption that a pole and polar line are given as well as three non-collinear points; two of them are fixed and the third one is mobile. The so-called boundary parabolas, which divide the plane of the polar conics into several areas, have been defined. Depending on which area of the mobile point belongs to an adequate affine, the type of the polar conics is determined. Four macro-constructions within the Cabri program have been made, which simplify and speed up the execution of drawings and diagram.

Opisano stożkowe biegunowe, które otrzymuje się przy założeniu, że dane są: biegun, biegunowa oraz trójka niewspółliniowych punktów, z których dwa są stałe, a trzeci ruchomy. Określono tak zwane parabole graniczne, które dzielą płaszczyznę stożkowych biegunowych na strefy. W zależności od przynależności ruchomego punktu do danej strefy uzyskuje się odpowiedni afiniczny typ stożkowych biegunowych. Wykonano także cztery makrokonstrukcje w programie graficznym Cabri, ułatwiające sporządzanie odpowiednich rysunków.
