Interesting lots of Warsaw insurgents – Home Army soldiers in German captivity (1944-1945) in Polish and world historiography have not been fully developed scientifically yet. One of the reason for it may be a great dispersion of source materials, which are kept in various archives, museums and societies’ collections such as the New Acts Archives, the Archives of Prisoners of War Museum in Łambinowice – Opole, the Archives of the Institute of National Remembrance – Commission for Pursuing Crime against the Polish Nation, the Museum of Warsaw Uprising – a branch of Historical Museum of Warsaw, the Museum of the Home Army in Cracow, the Museum of the Polish Army in Białystok, the Archives of the Oberlagen Society – the Home Army Soldiers World Association – the District of Warsaw. The conducted so far research on Warsaw insurgents’ lots in German captivity concentrated on two subjects: the problem of women and youth prisoners or just mentioned the problem. Their authors were mainly the prisoners themselves. Therefore there is still the need of deep and scientific research of the issue and compile the knowledge on Warsaw insurgents in captivity.
