The objective of this study was to determine growth parameters, such as age–length and length–weight relationships, as well as condition factors and sex ratio, of the Carassius gibelio (Bloch, 1782) population in Lake Marmara (western region of Turkey), which is one of the most important fishing areas. Fish were caught on a monthly basis by gillnets and trammel nets (mesh size 10–50 mm) between March 2012 and February 2013. A total of 1058 specimens (809 females and 249 males) were examined. The female–male ratio was 1:0.31. The maximum age was determined as VI and V for females and males, respectively. The total length of females and males ranged from 10.0 to 27.5 cm and from 10.2 to 24.0 cm, respectively. Their weight varied from 17.1 to 378.4 g and from 17.7 to 244.9 g, respectively. Length–weight relationship parameters were a = 0.014 and b = 3.040 for females and a = 0.015 and b = 3.039 for males. Von Bertalanffy growth parameters of the C. gibelio population were as follows: L∞ = 35.86 cm, k = 0.189 year−1, t0 = −1.238 years. Minimum and maximum condition factors were 1.56 for females in October and 1.82 in May and 1.67 for males in September and 1.94 in January.

This study aimed at analyzing the length-weight relationship and the condition factors of Boleophthalmus pectinirostris originating from the Maro estuary, Merauke Regency, Papua Province, Indonesia. This study was conducted for three months, starting from July to September 2018. This study used a purposive sampling method. The sampling of B. pectinirostris was carried out at two stations by using traps and capturing manually. 80 fish of B. pectinirostris were caught during the study. The length size of males 6.5 to 17.5 cm and weight 1.7 to 44.0 g, while the length of females 9.0 to 22.0 cm and weight 5.4 to 91.4 g. The results showed that the length-weight relationship of B. pectinirostris male reached W=0.0112L2.8562 and W = 0.0099L2.8885, while females W = 0.0062L3.0907 and W = 0.0052L3.1211. The length and weight relationship of B. pectinirostris showed negative allometric for male (b<3) and positive allometric for female (b>3). The condition factor value of B. pectinirostris for males and females ranged from 0.837 to 2.266, and 0.689 to 1.259, respectively.

The biometric characteristics and reproductive biology of the nereid polychaete Pseudonereis anomala were studied monthly from August 2009 to July 2010 at two ecologically different sites (Abu-Qir and El-Mex) on the Alexandria coast, south-eastern Mediterranean Sea. The maximum body length and weight showed different values at the two sites: 9.8 and 11.9 cm, and 0.77 and 1.3 g respectively. The formula of the length-weight relationship indicated allometric growth, whereas the regression equation between length to the 6th segment and weight reflected isometric growth. Immature individuals were the major component of the worm population at the two sites, making up 69.1% at Abu Qir and 66.9% at El Mex; the respective percentages of males and females at these sites were 5.8-8.1% and 22.8-27.3%. Spawning was observed all the year round with female fecundity conspicuously lower at Abu-Qir (annual average: 26556 ± 999 eggs per female) than at El-Mex (annual average: 47955 ± 2916 eggs per female). However, oocyte size was greater at Abu Qir (diameter: up to 250 µm) than at El Mex (diameter: up to 220 µm).
