This paper deals with the problem of vocal artifacts concerning tongue clicks and the production of plosive consonants by the laryngectomized patients, who after surgical larynx removal use the socalled pseudowhisper on a daily basis. Since these unusual disturbances, not so frequently occurring in correct speech, impede the further processing of the pseudowhisper into a more comprehensible form, the efficient methods have been drawn up to reject these artifacts. Functioning of the algorithms along with their mathematical principles is presented in detail in this work.

Artykuł dotyczy problemu artefaktów głosowych związanych z mlaśnięciami, a także z emisją spółgłosek wybuchowych przez osoby laryngektomowane, które po chirurgicznym usunięciu krtani posługują się tzw. pseudoszeptem. Ponieważ te nietypowe zakłócenia, nie występujące często w mowie prawidłowej, utrudniają dalszy proces przetwarzania pseudoszeptu do postaci bardziej zrozumiałej, opracowano skuteczne metody ich redukcji. Szczegółowo przedstawione działanie algorytmów wraz z ich matematycznym opisem.

This article presents a specialized speech-aid system meant for people with impairment of speech organs, who are either mute or whose speech is hardly intelligible due to surgical operations involving partial or full laryngectomy. Our experimental, prototype system, called "Blue Voice", enables these people to communicate with the society again, thus is bringing them back to the normal life and activity. Blue Voice is named after the Bluetooth wireless telecommunication standard, which is used for communication of the Blue Voice components. Our system is a modern electronic (digital) alternative to various classical and rather cumbersome mechanic-pneumatic devices, which are still commonly used for improvement of intelligibility of esophageal talkers.
