Artykuł przedstawia problem wykorzystywania prywatnych zbiorów publikacji po zakończeniu działalności zawodowej. Wskazano na brak procedur umożliwiających przekazanie prywatnego księgozbioru do biblioteki uczelni po przejściu na emeryturę.

The article presents the problem of preserving private collections of publications after the end of professional activity. It pointed to the lack of procedures for transferring a private book collections to university libraries after retirement.

It was analyzed the influence of factors on the structural strength and durability of adhesive compounds in the roots of the book blocks. On the basis of differential-thermal, X-ray structural and microscopic analysis of hot-melt adhesives and paper, from which book blocks are made, it was investigated their structural build and physical-chemical interaction at the macro and micro levels, the features of the formation of adhesive compounds were revealed.

Przeanalizowano wpływ czynników na wytrzymałość strukturalną i trwałość związków adhezyjnych w grzbietach wkładów książek. Na podstawie analizy różnicowo-termicznej, rentgenowskiej i mikroskopowej klejów termotopliwych i papieru, z którego wykonano wkłady książkowe, zbadano ich strukturalną budowę oraz współdziałanie fizykochemiczne na poziomach makro- i mikropodstawowych, zmodelowano osobliwości tworzenia połączeń klejowych.

Stosowana interpretacja definicji zabawki, w odniesieniu do książek przeznaczonych dla dzieci, skutkuje brakiem wykonywania przez producentów oceny bezpieczeństwa, opartej o analizę zagrożeń, wyspecyfikowanych w Dyrektywie 2009/48/WE. W sprzedaży mogą zatem znajdować się niebezpieczne książki, co potwierdzają notyfikacje systemu RAPEX. W publikacji przedstawiono wyniki badań i oceny bezpieczeństwa użytkowania książek-zabawek wykonanych z papieru i tektury, wprowadzanych na rynek polski. Badania zrealizowano w akredytowanym Laboratorium Inżynierii Materiałowej i Środowiska Instytutu KOMAG w latach 2009-2018, zgodnie z opracowaną autorską metodyką. Wyniki badań wykazały, że zagrożenia związane z użytkowaniem książek-zabawek wynikają z ich konstrukcji oraz zastosowanych materiałów, w których wykorzystywane są substancje chemiczne, zaliczane do niebezpiecznych dla zdrowia. Opisany tryb postępowania podczas przeprowadzania oceny bezpieczeństwa powinien znaleźć zastosowanie w realizacji obowiązków producentów książek dla dzieci, wynikających z wymagań Dyrektywy 2009/48/WE.

Definition of toy does not cover the books intended for children, what results in not assessing the books for conformity with the safety requirements included in the Directive 2009/48/EC (Toy Safety Directive). That is why, dangerous books can be available on the market, what has been confirmed by RAPEX notifications. Test results and assessment of safety use of books made of paper and cardboard that are available on the Polish market are presented. The tests were conducted in the accredited Laboratory of Material Engineering and Environment in the KOMAG Institute within years 2009-2018 according to the methodology developed by the authors. Test results showed that hazards associated with using the book toys result from their design and materials, containing hazardous chemicals, used for their manufacture. The procedure for assessing the books safety, resulting from requirements of Directive 2009/48/EC, described in this publication should be used by manufacturers of books intended for children.

The article outlines the history of the publishing house Przedświt, operating illegally outside the scope of censorship (in the so-called second circulation) in the years 1982–1989. The publishing house oriented at the publishing of valuable books – not only those that could not appear legally – was a peculiar phenomenon on the map of underground printing and publishing. A special distinction of Przedświt were also artistic covers, designed by well-known graphic artists. The article covers both issues related to activities of underground publishing houses or repression by the authorities of Popular Republic of Poland, as well as short biographical entries of employees and associates, and a list of books published by the publishing house with a short summary of each. The content of the article for the most part is based on spoken sources – memories of people involved in publishing.
