W artykule przedstawiono wyniki integracji chmur punktów pozyskanych z wykorzystaniem naziemnego skanera laserowego oraz smartfona z sensorem LiDAR. Kompletny zbiór danych posłużył do inwentaryzacji ściany obiektu zabytkowego klasztoru Franciszkanów. W 2023 r. powtórzono pomiar, wykorzystując naziemny skaner laserowy i smartfon iPhone 12Pro, aby sprawdzić, czy wykonane prace przyniosły pożądany efekt i zahamowały dalsze odchylenia ścian.

The article presents the results of the integration of point clouds obtained using a terrestrial laser scanner and a smartphone with a LiDAR sensor. The complete data set was used to inventory the wall of the historic Franciscan Monastery. In 2019, at the request of the parish priest, the building was measured due to the observed deviation of the building walls caused by the subsidence of the foundations of the building and revitalization works began, consisting in strengthening the ground under the foundations of the church. A number of works were carried out to stop the process of settling the foundations of the monastery, and the missing fragments of the wall were added and supplemented, which had a significant impact on the stability of the building. In 2023, the measurement was repeated using terrestrial laser scanner and iPhone 12Pro to check whether the applied works had the desired effect and inhibited further deviations of the walls. A complete, integrated data set was also used to visualize the wall after conservation treatments.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the process of generating 3D models based on object databases. They are made for various types of buildings, sites and objects, and their task is to represent all the structural and architectural features of the object using parametric models. The BIM technology involves the preparation of the model that is already at the design stage of the building, in such a way that it is used during conceptual and implementation works, as well as during its final operation. However, a BIM model of existing objects can also be generated. Historic buildings are a special group of objects The HBIM (Heritage Building Information Modeling) model is used not only as an inventory of the object in its current state, but also as a background and a tool for visualising the object in its restored state, or as a source of information about the building itself for conservation, renovation and documentation purposes. Such a model can be created based on various types of source data. The basis for the development of the BIM model can be formed by data acquired during the inventory of the facility using surveying methods, laser scanning and photogrammetry. This paper presents the process of data acquisition of a historic object using the example of Lamus Dworski with the use of TLS and UAV. The study also includes the process of HBIM modeling of the object using point clouds as well as photographic documentation and data recorded in the monument card.
Contemporary measurement techniques facilitate the rapid and highly precise development of three-dimensional models of any spatial object. Terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) stands as one of the most precise methodologies. Nevertheless, instances arise wherein restrictions imposed by the terrain configuration or infrastructure design impede the acquisition of comprehensive information regarding its geometry. In such scenarios, the optimal resolution lies in the integration of data sourced from diverse measurement instruments. In the context of working with large objects, the optimal approach to capturing comprehensive data, particularly pertaining to the upper parts, involves utilising an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The high resolution of images acquired at a low altitude enables the generation of a point cloud with remarkable accuracy, delivering a satisfactory outcome. When it comes to the modelling of special objects, such as brine graduation towers, the selection of suitable software that facilitates the creation of realistic three-dimensional models is of paramount significance. The study utilised the integration of data acquired from a low altitude using the DJI Air 2S Fly More Combo unmanned aerial vehicle. Diverse mission types were employed, and the data was subsequently recorded using a terrestrial Leica ScanStation P40 laser scanner. The research was conducted on a brine graduation tower situated above the Nowa Huta reservoir in Kraków. The tower’s dimensions necessitated the incorporation of TLS and UAV data. This study analyses three 3D models of the brine graduation tower in Nowa Huta. The models were generated using various computer programmes, namely MeshLab, Agisoft Metashape, and Cyclone 3DR, each of which demonstrated specific capabilities and suitability for modelling a special object like a brine graduation tower. The accuracy of the constructed three-dimensional model of the tower was determined by comparing sections that were measured in the field on the structure between photographic points marked by discs and the equivalent points on the model. Eighteen sections were measured, yielding a mean error of 0.039 m.

Jeśli mamy do czynienia z dużymi obiektami, najlepszym wyborem do uzupełnienia danych, szczególnie górnych partii obiektu, jest zastosowanie bezzałogowej platformy latającej (ang. UAV). W badaniach wykorzystano integrację danych pozyskanych z niskiego pułapu z bezzałogowej platformy latającej DJI Air 2S Fly More Combo – wykorzystując różnego rodzaju misje, z danymi zarejestrowanymi naziemnym skanerem laserowym Leica ScanStation P40. Badania prowadzone były na tężni solankowej zlokalizowanej nad Zalewem Nowohuckim w Krakowie, której gabaryty wymagały zastosowania integracji danych TLS i UAV.
Currently, the modelling of historic buildings is most often performed on the basis of data obtained by terrestrial laser scanning. It ensures both the speed of information acquisition and the high accuracy of the final elaboration. However, there are situations in which the terrain layout or the structure of the building limits the possibility of obtaining full information on its shape. In such situations, the solution is to integrate data from various measurement devices. In the case of creating a full 3D model of large buildings, one of the ways to supplement the data, especially the roof of the building, is to use data from airborne laser scanning. The research used the integration of airborne laser scanning data with data recorded with the Leica ScanStation P40 terrestrial laser scanner. Combined point clouds were used for 3D modelling of two different historic buildings in Krakow. Modelling was performed with the Bentley CAD software and in Leica Cyclon 3DR and 3DReshaper. The accuracy of data integration was determined and the advantages and disadvantages of using the above-mentioned software for 3D modelling of architectural objects were shown. The result of the study is a 3D model of St. Florian’s Gate and the Palace of Art in Krakow.

Since 2019 in Poland, the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography (abbrev. in Polish, GUGiK) has made available on-line free of charge collections obtained from airborne laser scanning and their derivatives. These data enabled the conversation (transformation) of the existing resource of geodetic maps (a set of data collected in 2D space) into spatial objects and their 3D visualization. The purpose of this paper is to present the data transformation performed and to assess the quality of the implemented process. In addition, it was checked whether the collected data can be directly used to build a three-dimensional (3D) database - constituting a product attractive to specialists in the field of civil engineering. This is an important finding, knowing that the geodetic service performs measurements in relation to the horizontal and altitude network, i.e. nowadays, three coordinates of the measured objects are determined. The work uses the sets provided by GUGiK, as well as vector sets collected at the Faculty of Geoengineering at UWM in Olsztyn. The sets were obtained from direct measurements carried out as part of measurement's student practices, from which databases with recorded objects using two and three coordinates were developed. The results obtained in this study indicate that it is possible to transform the existing resource of measurement data and geodetic maps into a new form of presentation - spatial (3D) presentation - more readable for professionals using BIM technology (Building Information Modelling), as well as more friendly to citizens interested in using these data.
Currently, the possibilities offered by measurement techniques allow development of both cities in the form of 3D models as well as models of small and large architecture objects. Depending on the needs, the scale of an examined object or the intended use of the final product, geodesy finds ready-made measurement methods. If one wants to work out a 3D model of a building object in detail, the most accurate way is to use laser scanning technology. However, there are situations in which limitations resulting from the terrain layout or the structure of the building preclude to obtain full information about its shape. In such situations, the solution is to integrate data from various measurement devices. If creating a full 3D model of large buildings, the best choice to complete data, especially the roof of the object, is to use an unmanned aerial platform, because the resolution of images made on a low altitude is good enough to obtain a satisfactory effect in the form of a point cloud. The research used integration of data obtained at low altitude from two unmanned aerial vehicles, Fly-Tech DJI S1000 and DJI Phantom 3 Advanced - using various types of missions - with data recorded with the Leica ScanStation P40 terrestrial laser scanner. The data was integrated by giving them a common coordinate system - in this case the 2000 system, for the grid points measured in the field with the GNSS technique, and the use of Cyclone, Metashape and Pix4D software for this purpose. Combined point clouds were used for 3D modelling of the sacred object with Bentley CAD software. The accuracy with which data integration was performed and errors resulting from the use of various measurement techniques were determined. The result of the study is a 3D model of the Church of Our Lady of Consolation, located in Krakow at the Sportowe estate.

W badaniach wykorzystano integrację danych pozyskanych z niskiego pułapu z dwóch bezzałogowych platform latających, Fly-Tech DJI S1000 i DJI Phantom 3 Advanced - wykorzystując różnego rodzaju misje - z danymi zarejestrowanymi naziemnym skanerem laserowym Leica ScanStation P40.
3D maps are becoming more and more popular due not only to their accessibility and clarity of reception, but above all, they provide comprehensive spatial information. Three-dimensional cartographic studies meet the accuracy requirements set for traditional 2D stu-dies, and additionally, they naturally connect the place where the phenomenon occurs with its spatial location. Due to the scale of the objects and difficulties in obtaining comprehensive data using only one source, a frequent procedure is to integrate measurement, cartographic, photo-grammetric information and databases in order to generate a comprehensive study in the form of a 3D map. This paper presents the method of acquiring and processing, as well as, integrating data from TLS and UAVs. Clouds of points representing places and objects are the starting point for the implementation of 3D models of buildings and technical objects, as well as for the con-struction of the Digital Terrain Model. However, in order to supplement the spatial information about the object, the geodetic database of the record of the utilities network was integrated with the model. The procedure performed with the use of common georeferencing, based on the global coordinate system, allowed for the generation of a comprehensive basemap in a three-dimensional form.
The geographic information system (GIS) has become a very popular and useful tool to aggregate and process spatial data. In this paper, the implementation of data obtained during survey seasons at the El Fuerte de Samaipata (Bolivia) archaeological site and results of data analysis on the GIS platform are presented. In addition to the thematic layers, a description of the sectors and archaeological relics was added to the whole system. The implemented layers are related to orthoimages created from terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) and from close range photogrammetry (in visual, spectral, and infrared light), raw photos of petroglyphs, a highly detailed vector plan of the site, conservation risk maps, new spatial divisions, description layers, and a digital terrain model (DTM) based on the results of TLS. Such a system, with an implemented DTM, allows rainwater runoff and its impact on the archaeological site to be analysed. Thus, the paper presents a study on some hydrological conditions of the Samaipata rock. It is part of the larger research project “Architectural examination and complex documentation of Samaipata (El Fuerte de Samaipata/Bolivia) site from the World Heritage List”. The results of this study are considered mainly from the point of view of conservation recommendations and strategies. Same aspects, however, may influence future studies on the chronology and cultural affiliation of the Samaipata rock carvings.

Oprócz warstw tematycznych do całego systemu dodano opis sektorów i zabytków archeologicznych. Te same aspekty mogą jednak wpłynąć na przyszłe badania dotyczące chronologii i przynależności kulturowej rzeźb skalnych Samaipata.

The purpose of entity resolution (ER) is to identify records that refer to the same real-world entity from diferent sources. Most traditional ER studies identify records based on string-based data, so the ER problem relies mostly on string comparison techniques. There is little research on numeric-based data. Traditional ER approaches are widely used in many domains, such as papers, gene sequencing and restaurants, but they have not been used in an earthquake disaster. In this paper, earthquake disaster event information that was collected from diferent websites is denoted with numeric data. To solve the problem of ER in numeric data, we use the following methods to conduct experiments. First, we treat numbers as strings and use string-based approaches. Second, we use the Euclidean distance to measure the diference between two records. Third, we combine the above two strategies and use a comprehensive approach to measure the distance between the two records. We experimentally evaluate our methods on real datasets that represent earthquake disaster event information. The experimental results show that a comprehensive approach can achieve high performance.

Inaczej niż współczesne dane topograficzne, opracowana mapa przedstawia lasy zgodnie z polską definicją prawną i jest w ten sposób porównywalna do wcześniejszych opracowań topograficznych. Nasze wyniki wskazują, że różne współczesne bazy danych zaniżają lesistość Karpat polskich, natomiast fuzja różnych zbiorów danych poparta wiedzą ekspercką pozwala na uzyskanie kompletnej i rzetelnej informacji o współczesnym rozmieszczeniu lasów w tym regionie.
Nowadays, because of the smaller and smaller chances of discovering new hydrocarbon deposits with abundant resources as well as significant technological advance, the proper strategy of reservoir management connected with simultaneous optimization of its production parameters is the key element in the process of development the most economically advantageous variant of reservoir management and field development. In Polish Oil and Gas Company, the project called as “Digital reservoir” based on the interactive IAM platform was initiated, thanks to which the work of all upstream segments was integrated, starting from geophysics, geology through reservoir engineering, production engineering, process engineering ending with the economic model that allows for verification of the economic efficiency of the investment. This paper presents the methodology of integration all of the above elements and the results of the IAM system implementation with further production forecasts, on the example of selected natural gas reservoirs in the Polish Lowlands being PGNiG S.A. assets.

This paper shows how big data analysis opens a range of research and technological problems and calls for new approaches. We start with defining the essential properties of big data and discussing the main types of data involved. We then survey the dedicated solutions for storing and processing big data, including a data lake, virtual integration, and a polystore architecture. Difficulties in managing data quality and provenance are also highlighted. The characteristics of big data imply also specific requirements and challenges for data mining algorithms, which we address as well. The links with related areas, including data streams and deep learning, are discussed. The common theme that naturally emerges from this characterization is complexity. All in all, we consider it to be the truly defining feature of big data (posing particular research and technological challenges), which ultimately seems to be of greater importance than the sheer data volume.
Współczesne modele geologiczne 3D mają charakter innowacyjny w kompleksowym podejściu do rozpoznania wgłębnej budowy struktur i jednostek geologicznych.

Recent techniques of 3D geological models building present an innovative approach to integrated subsurface mapping of geological structures. Multiple sources of geological and geophysical data have been used in complex 3D modeling from both digital databases as well as analogue archives. Structural framework of the model supplemented with lithological and petrophysical data discretized in spatial grids is used for resources assessment and modeling of geological and hydrogeological processes. The 3D geological model of the Łanięta salt diapir has been developed as a case study for refinement of known structure and lithological variation of the salt dome with use of borehole data, cross sections and 2D seismic interpretation as well as petrophysical and geochemical analysis. The study has been focused on application of the geologically-constrained 3D geophysical inversion of gravity data for delineation of undrilled parts of the structure. The free-air correction of gravity data have been used for modeling of the structure from the terrain surface down to the depth of 1 km below sea level. Both regional and local gravity surveys were used in two steps approach. The low resolution regional model has been created for 3D trend model of density distribution in the first step. It was followed by the high resolution, detailed inversion of local gravity data. The 3D inversion constrained by borehole control points presents density variation of modeled structure. A significant challenge of presented approach of gravity inversion is an adequate differentiation of density in the salt diapir. The delineation of large density contrast of halite and anhydrite rock in the highly deformed internal diapir structures is problematic and it depends mostly on available borehole or seismic data on lithological succession and spatial distribution.

The article presents the possibilities of using modern digital photogrammetry in inventorying difficult to measure objects based on bell tower construction of the church St. Stanislaw Kostka in Warsaw. This work describes two integrated object measurement techniques - terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) and images from Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). After processing the obtained data average RMS errors for the individual coordinates are: X = 0.03 m Y = 0.02 m, Z = 0.04 m. Practical experiment was focused on the inside structure of bell tower to obtain its exact reproduction. The final generated product which are - cross sections through the point cloud allow for a comparison of the current and archival state of documentation. The data allows also to an inventory of the internal design of the bell tower. The article shows that the usage of the latest methods of measurement makes obtaining accurate and reliable data of the object. Resulting material was handed over to the next step of processing and then used to create a 3D model. This model was the base for creating possibilities of repairing the bell tower. This work was realized in a cooperation of authors and SkySnap company who acquires and processes data from UAV.
The paper discusses a testing method for a point cloud colorization algorithm. The point cloud colorization process is described in the context of photogrammetric and laser scanning data integration. A parallel algorithm is described following a theoretical introduction to the problem of LiDAR data colorization. The paper consists of two main parts. The first part presents the testing methodology via two aspects: (1) correctness of the color assigned to a given point, (2) testing of interpolation methods. Both tests are used on synthetic and natural data, and the results are discussed. The second part consists of a discussion of correctness factors associated with point cloud colorization as a typical case of process correctness in data integration. Three important factors are discussed in the paper. The first is correctness of the external orientation of the given image. The second is the ratio of the density of the point cloud and the GSD of the image. The third is the relative angle between the image and the scanned plane. All of the results are presented in the paper and the optimal range of the relevant factors is also discussed.

The article presents and discusses the attributes of information security, based on standards contained in the Annexes to the Convention on International Civil Aviation and ISO standards. Subsequently it describes Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) System, basing on information exchange and being one of the data sources for advanced air traffic operation systems. In order to assure proper airport data processing and exchange, the aspect of data security was considered, and what followed classification criteria and requirements for data consistency levels in particular classes as well as requirement of CRC application were described. At the end an attempt to determine which data class and which CRC algorithm are to be chosen as adequate to the airport’s operational services needs was made. The results showed that the issue of ensuring integrated airport’s data security must be approached in a complex way, integrating principles, methods, solutions and algorithms defined in ICAO and ISO standards, which will be the subject of authors’ future study.

The last few years have seen a very dynamic development of the Internet worldwide. This is related to the rapid growth of the amount of information stored in its resources. The vast amount of data, impossible to be analyzed by man, is the reason why finding and selecting valuable information from a large number of results returned by search engines has recently become the task very difficult. Another problem is the low quality of the data contained in a large part of the results returned by search engines. This situation poses serious problems if one searches for detailed information related to the specific area of industry or science. In addition, the lack of effective solutions, allowing for continuous monitoring of WEB in terms of the search for emerging information while maintaining the high quality of the returned results, only aggravates this situation. Due to this state of affairs, a solution highly welcome would be a system allowing for continuous monitoring of the WEB and searching for valuable information from the selected Internet resources. This paper describes a concept of such a system along with its initial implementation and application to search for information in the foundry industry. The results of a prototype implementation of this system were presented, and plans for its further development and adaptation to other sectors of the industry were outlined.
The presented paper shows the diversity of photogrommetric approaches by introducing a problem of camera interior orientation, data georeferencing. data integration and the issue of automatic object surface modelling. The authors discuss the abovementioned issues on the example of the work carried out at the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography, Warsaw University of Technology referring to solutions practiced in Computer Vision. This article is an example of introduction of photogrammetry as a discipline open to achievements of close fields of science, which is widely applied in practice.
