A turbulent manufacturing market, especially in the metal industry, determines the quality of products and the level of production efficiency, which contributes to a company's market position and competitiveness. The aim of the study was to develop a model to define a manufacturing company’s current market position using KPIs in relation to a key product - gearbox casting. The company's position was defined in terms of the relationship occurring between technological capabilities and market position. An additional aim of the study was to identify critical determinants and, ultimately, to identify conditions for strengthening market position. As a test of the proposed model, the position of the analysed company (in terms of technological capabilities and market position) was defined as “Search for occasions”- box 9 within the 3x3 matrix. Technological determinants that weaken the company’s position (low level of maintenance capacity and long production cycle time) and determinants with a strong negative impact on market position (low level of human resource development) were identified. An element of novelty is the use of KPIs as variables determining the position of the company within the3x3 matrix, which is indicative of a specific technological position in the market. Further lines of research will concern the determination of appropriate KPIs in relation to the identified critical areas of the company. Subsequent steps will concern the implications of the model in relation to the company’s other key aluminium alloy castings.

Do podstawowych procesów dystrybucji fizycznej zaliczane są obsługa klienta, magazynowanie i utrzymywanie zapasów oraz transport produktów. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest analiza procesu obsługi klienta przedsiębiorstwa z branży elektroinstalacyjnej. Do analizy tego procesu wykorzystano mapę procesu oraz analizę wskaźnikową. W opracowaniu scharakteryzowano kanały dystrybucji produktów oraz dokonano oceny istniejących kanałów dystrybucji. Zamiarem dalszych badań będzie analiza gospodarki magazynowej oraz transportu w tym samym podmiocie badań.

The basic processes of physical distribution include customer service, storage and maintenance of inventory and product transport. The aim of this study is to analyze the customer service process of a company from the electrical installation industry. The process map and the index analysis were used to analyze this process. The study characterized product distribution channels and assessed existing distribution channels The next stage of research will be the analysis of warehouse management and transport.

W roku 2016 Ministerstwo Gospodarki Morskiej i Żeglugi Śródlądowej ogłosiło przetarg na opracowanie analizy zagrożeń pożarowych dla portów morskich o kluczowym znaczeniu dla gospodarki kraju. Przedmiotem zamówienia było wykonanie usługi polegającej na przeprowadzeniu analizy stanu ochron przeciwpożarowej w polskich portach morskich o podstawowym znaczeniu dla gospodarki narodowej (Gdańsk, Gdynia, Szczecin, Świnoujście), o których mowa w ustawie z dnia 20 grudnia 1996 r. o portach o przystaniach (Dz. U. z 2010 r. Nr 33 poz.179)[numer sprawy BDG.V.ZP.2510.10.2016.RB]. Postępowanie było powtórzeniem nieskutecznego postępowania przeprowadzonego rok wcześniej jeszcze przez Ministerstwo Infrastruktury i Rozwoju. Zamówione opracowanie miało posłużyć do wydania rozporządzenia ministra standaryzującego na wzór portów lotniczych zasady organizacji zabezpieczenia przeciw pożarowego w dużych portach morskich w Polsce ponieważ aktualnie każdy port posiada własne rozwiązania ww. zakresie. Zamawiający wymagał przy tym opracowania analizy systemowej i indeksowej oraz odpowiedniego zobrazowania graficznego na podkładach mapowych dla wszystkich czterech portów.

In 2016, the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation announced a tender to develop a fire hazard analysis for seaports of key importance for the country's economy. The object of the contract was to provide a service to analyze the state of fire protection in Polish seaports of key importance for the national economy (Gdańsk, Gdynia, Szczecin, Świnoujście), referred to in the Act of 20 December 1996 on ports with marinas (Dz. U. of 2010 No. 33, item 179). The proceedings were a repetition of ineffective proceedings carried out a year earlier by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development. The ordered study was to be used to issue a decree of a minister standardizing airport-like rules for the organization of fire protection in large seaports in Poland, because currently each port has its own solutions. range. The ordering party required the development of system and index analysis as well as the appropriate graphical imaging on map foundations for all four ports.

Mapa strumienia wartości (Value Stream Map) jest jednym z podstawowych narzędzi koncepcji oszczędnego wytwarzania ( lean manufacturing). Sporządzenie mapy strumienia wartości nie powinno być samo w sobie głównym celem firmy. Kluczowa jest bowiem jej analiza, której podstawowym rezultatem winno być opracowanie koncepcji usprawnienia strumienia wartości (przekłada się to na obniżenie kosztów). W pracy autor zaproponował metodę analizy wskaźnikowej mapy strumienia wartości. Oparta jest ona o dwa podstawowe wskaźniki wynikające z wspomnianej mapy: wskaźnik czasu przepływu (Flow Time Indicator) oraz wskaźnik płynności przepływu FSI (Flow Smoothness Indicator). Na przykładach pokazano sposób obliczania i interpretacji obu wskaźników. Artykuł zakończono krótką informacją o aspektach praktycznych przemysłowego zastosowania analizy.

The value stream map is one of the basic tools of the lean manufacturing concept. Creating a value stream map should not be in itself the main goal of the company. The key is its analysis, the main result of which should be the concept of streamlining the value stream (this translates into lower costs). In the work, the author proposed a method of index analysis of the value stream map. It is based on two basic indicators resulting from the above-mentioned map: flow time indicator (Flow Time Indicator) and FSI flow smoothness indicator (Flow Smoothness Indicator). The examples show how to calculate and interpret both indicators. The article was concluded with a brief information on the practical aspects of the industrial application of the analysis.

W artykule przedstawiono propozycję oceny stopnia zagrożenia wybuchowego, związanego z obecnością gazów palnych w niektórych otworach badawczych i badawczo wyprzedzających, wierconych w wyrobiskach kopalń rud miedzi LGOM. Do oceny przedmiotowego zagrożenia wykorzystano nowe wskaźniki, charakteryzujące poziom zagrożenia gazami palnymi w danym otworze lub w sąsiedztwie tego otworu oraz uśredniony poziom wystąpień gazów palnych w otworach wykonanych w danym obszarze (sekcji) kopalni. Zamiarem autorów było opracowanie prostej metody wskaźnikowej, umożliwiającej szybką ocenę rozpatrywanego zagrożenia w praktyce kopalnianej.

The proposal of explosive hazard evaluation connected with occurrence of inflammable gases in some research and protection drill holes in Polish copper mines is presented in the paper. New evaluation indexes which describe the level of explosive hazard in particular drill hole or drilling cavity and averaged level of occurrence of inflammable gases in drill holes in given area (section) of mine were used. Authors’ aim was to develop a simply method based on index analysis which enables quick explosive hazard evaluation.
