Pandemia wirusa SARS-COVID-2 spowodowała w Polsce do dnia 6.07.22. zakażenie 6,018 mln (w tym ozdrowienia 5,335 mln), śmierć ponad 116 tys. osób. Właściwe odżywianie i kontrolowana suplementacja diety w okresie zagrożeń, mogą zapobiec infekcji i przyspieszyć leczenie. Przedstawiono założenia zbilansowanej diety dla dorosłych (wg. Komitetu Nauk o Żywności PAN) oraz zalecenia suplementacji (wg Norm PZH) witaminami i solami mineralnymi w dawkach zapobiegających przedawkowaniu. Omówiono również zalecenia odżywiania niemowląt i dzieci.

The SARS-COVID-2 pandemic had causedin Poland by 6/07/22. infection of 6,018 million (including recovery 5.335 million), death of over 116 thousand people. Proper nutrition and dietary supplementation during times of danger can prevent infection and accelerate healing. Assumptions of a balanced diet for adults (according to Com.Nutr.S. PAN) and recommenda-tions for supplementation (according to PZH Standards) with vitamins and mineral salts in doses preventing overdosing are given. Nutritional recommendations for infants and children were also discussed.

W artykule przybliżono czytelnikowi wiedzę z zakresu historii szczepień, rodzajów odporności organizmu oraz typów szczepionek. Przeanalizowano ponadto uregulowania prawne z zakresu szczepień obowiązkowych i zalecanych w Polsce.

Vaccinations are the most effective prophylactic method in control of infectious diseases. Vaccination allows both the supervision of infectious diseases’ dissemination and, in many cases, their eradication. This paper introduces the reader to the knowledge of the history of vaccination, types of immunity and vaccines. The legal regulations concerning mandatory and recommended vaccinations in Poland were also analyzed.

Obawy związane z koronawirusem spowodowały. ze w mediach społecznościowych pojawiło się wiele niemedycznych porad, jak wzmacniać układ odpornościowy, aby nie zachorować. Mimo że obecnie nie dysponujemy potwierdzonymi dowodami naukowymi wskazującymi, jakoby pojedynczy naturalny produkt spożywczy lub suplement diety stymulowały istotnie ludzki układ odpornościowy lub zapobiegały zakażeniom powodowanym przez SARS-CoV-2, to istnieje wiele skutecznych zachowań, strategii żywieniowych i treningowych, które mogą zmniejszać narażenie na patogeny i ograniczać immunosupresję, a przez to najprawdopodobniej redukować ryzyko wystąpienia choroby. Artykuł zawiera informacje na temat najistotniejszych czynników, których wpływ na funkcjonowanie układu immunologicznego w literaturze naukowej jest najlepiej udokumentowany.

Panic over coronavirus has led to many non-medical advice in social media on how to boost the immune system to avoid getting sick. There is currently no proven scientific evidence supporting use of a specific natural food or supplement to improve the human immune system or prevent SARS CoV-2 infection. However, there are many effective behaviours, nutritional and training strategies that can reduce exposure to pathogens and limit immunosuppression and thus reduce the risk of disease. This study provides information on the most relevant factors that affect the immune system in the scientific literature.

W artykule przedstawiono badanie odporności na udary elektryczne wybranych dwóch ograniczników przepięć stosowanych w kolejowych układach elektronicznych. Przedstawiono metodykę pomiarową, stanowisko laboratoryjne wg normy PN-EN 61000-4-5 oraz dopuszczalne poziomy narażeń zawarte w normie kolejowej PN-EN 50121-3-2. W artykule zaprezentowano przykładowe wyniki badań oraz przeprowadzono ocenę otrzymanych wyników według obowiązujących unormowań.

The article presents the test of immunity to electric surges of two surge arresters used in railway electronic systems. Metering methodology, laboratory stand according to PN-EN 61000-4-5 and exposure levels included in the railway standard PN-EN 50121-3-2 are presented. The article presents examples of research results and an evaluation of the obtained results according to the applicable regulations.

W artykule przedstawiono metodę oceny odporności urządzeń elektronicznych na wysokoenergetyczne impulsy elektromagnetyczne przeprowadzoną przez pracowników LAB-KEM WEL WAT. Ocena odporności urządzeń elektronicznych pomaga zrozumieć próg podatności tych urządzeń na środowisko impulsów elektromagnetycznych o wysokich mocach (ang: High Power Electromagnetic – HPEM). Ocena ta skupia się na określeniu progu wytrzymałości sprzętu komputerowego (nośników danych) podczas pracy tych urządzeń w środowisku HPEM.

Assessment immunity of electronic equipment will help you understand the susceptibility threshold of these devices onthe high power electromagnetic pulses environment (called High Power Electromagnetic - HPEM). This assessment focuses on determining the upper limit of strength the computer equipment (storage devices) in the HPEM environment.

The article presents the results of studies on the effects of lightning current through various types of lightning cross connectors forming a comprehensive lightning protection system. The tests were conducted to demonstrate that the H class current described in EN 62561-1 for protection level I is insufficient to adequately assess the suitability of the connector for use in an explosive atmosphere where it may be a source of ignition of the explosive atmosphere.

W artykule przestawiono wyniki badań skutków przepływu prądu piorunowego przez różnego rodzaju złącza odgromowe łączące elementy tworzące kompleksowy system ochrony odgromowej. Badania przeprowadzono celem wykazania, iż prąd według klasyfikacji H opisanej w normie PN-EN 62561-1 dla poziomu ochrony I jest niewystarczający celem właściwej oceny przydatności złącza do stosowania w strefie zagrożonej wybuchem, gdzie może stanowić źródło zapłonu atmosfery wybuchowej.

Znajomość zagadnienia wpływu hiperbarii tlenowej na ustrój ludzki i zwierzęcy posiada duże znaczenie teoretyczne i praktyczne. Wynika to z faktu, że hiperbaria tlenowa znajduje coraz szersze zastosowanie w leczeniu różnych chorób. Niestety nasza wiedza na temat wpływu hiperbarii, w tym hiperbarii tlenowej, na reakcje immunologiczne organizmu ludzkiego i zwierzęcego jest w dalszym ciągu niewystarczająca i niepełna. Instytut Medycyny Morskiej Wojskowej Akademii Medycznej w Gdyni od kilku lat prowadzi badania poświęcone tej dziedzinie. W ramach badań w zakresie immunologii prowadzone są eksperymenty z udziałem zwierząt (króliki, świnki morskie) i ludzi (nurkowie i kandydaci na nurków). Wpływ hiperbarii tlenowej w przedziale ciśnień od 2,8 do 3,1 ata badany jest podczas ekspozycji jednorazowych i wielokrotnych. Badanie ujawniło istotne zmiany w odpowiedzi immunologicznej zarówno u zwierząt, jak i u ludzi.

Knowledge of the impact of hyperbaric conditions, especially hyperbaric oxygen, on human and animal organisms, is of great theoretical and practical importance, particularly in reference to the increased application of hyperbaric oxygen for therapeutic purposes. It must be said that unfortunately our knowledge on the impact of hyperbaria, including oxygen hyperbaria, on the immunological response of the animal and human organisms is still not sufficient and is incomplete. The Institute of the Naval Medicine of the Naval Academy in Gdynia has been carrying out tests in this field for some years now. The tests have been carried out on animals (rabbits, guinea pigs) as well as on humans (commercial divers, scuba divers, and candidates to these activities) within immunology investigations. The impact of hyperbaric oxygen at pressures ranging between 2.8 and 3.1 ata, in single or multiple expositions, have been tested as well as the relations between hyperbaria in air and the different conditions of the exposure.The study revealed important shifts in the immunological response of both the animals and humans.

The examination of electromagnetic susceptibility of electronic devices is an important part of the process of design, development and construction of the electronic device. Surge is one of the types of electromagnetic interference and all the electronic devices must be tested on this type of interference according to international standards. Surge often occurs at the atmospheric disturbances such as lightning or at disorders in the energy of the high voltage network. The surge can cause failure of devices or even its permanent damage or destruction, in case the electronic device has insufficient electromagnetic immunity.

The article presents the results of the effects of the lightning current flow through all kinds of lighting connectors. The study was conducted as a warning for investors who want to "save" during the construction of the new facility by avoiding the purchase of appropriate lighting protection system. Those connectors can initiate an explosion in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Omówiono typy zniszczenia tego rodzaju materiałów wynikające z różnej kruchości zbrojenia. Zaprezentowano rodzaje przełomów występujące podczas rozciągania i ściskania kompozytu w zależności od kierunku pobierania próbek. Omówiono kryteria zniszczenia stosowane do oceny odporności materiałów kompozytowych dla różnych wariantów obciążenia.

Mechanical properties of different resins and fibres commonly used as components of composite materials are presented in the paper. Failure modes of such kind of materials, depending on brittleness of reinforcement are discussed. Fracture under tension and compression is studied reflecting the specimen orientation with respect to its extraction direction. Failure criterions applied to examination of composites resistance for various loading combinations are discussed.

Przeanalizowano sytuację przykładowego przedsiębiorstwa i zaproponowano środki niwelowania strat spowodowanych embargo.

The following article presents the phenomenon of the Russian embargo as an example of political sanctions and its impact on corporate logistics systems. Indicated distribution logistics and supply logistics as two of the least resistant cells in the company. It also shown the action plans for logistical support such as product differentiation, acquiring new business partners, creating a crisis management system or reliance upon funding from the European Union. Examines the position of the example company and suggests methods to eliminate losses due to the embargo.

Zaproponowano zastosowanie techniki termowizyjnej do oceny poprawność konstrukcji i działania urządzeń elektronicznych. Technikę termowizyjną zastosowano do badania elementów ochronnych zasilacza AC/DC w czasie standardowych badań odporności na udary oraz do badania modułów GSM pracujących pod kontrolą nadrzędnego programu sterującego i płyty głównej centrali systemu przeciwpożarowego. Pomiary termowizyjne zastosowano do oceny przyrostu temperatury ww. urządzeń.

In the paper there is proposed use of infrared thermography for assessing the validity of construction and operation of electronic devices. The most important advantages of this technique are the short time of studies and the ability of direct evaluation of results. It was found that for electronic devices it was appropriate to record infrared imagings in various states of their operation. Comparison of temperature increments from different states of operation enables validation of constructions from the heat discharge point of view. Investigations were performed for AC/DC power supplies, a GSM module, and the motherboard of a fire-fighting system using the camera VIGOcam v50. For AC/DC power supplies (Fig. 1) it was proposed to record infrared imagings during the surge immunity test (the standard EN 61000-4-5) in order to evaluate the quality of protective elements, varistors. From the imaging of the power supply immediately after the first surge (Fig. 2b) it was possible to evaluate the temperature increment on the varistor. It was stated that the accepted temperature increments on the varistor could be equal up to 30°C. The research results for the GSM module (Fig. 3) and the motherboard of the fire-fighting system (Figs. 4 and 5) are presented as imagings of the devices operating in a standby regime and with a full power. The areas with increased emission were identified. It was found that infrared thermography is very useful in the assessment of temperature distributions.

The resistance of the supply chain requires from organizations forming it both of attributes : flexibility as well as adaptivity. In the article I joined in the discussion in the significance of computer assisting material flows from a perspective of the ability to increase adaptivity of individual links and the resistance of the entire supply chains.

Kształtowanie łańcuchów powinno odnosić się do budowania wartości, zarówno dla klienta, jak i innych zainteresowanych, np. mieszkańców. Koszty nie mogą być jedyną kategorią w tworzeniu łańcuchów dostaw skazanych na sukces. Przedsiębiorstwa budujące łańcuchy dostaw, w niedalekiej przyszłości, muszą wypracować takie zasady, które spowodują harmonię między nimi, klientami a innymi interesariuszami.

So far, fixed approach to the design and operation of supply chains, taking into account first of all savings and minimize costs, from the point of view of the customer is working against him. Chains, should refer to creating value for both the client and other stakeholders, such as residents. Costs can not be the only category in developing supply chains convicted of success. Companies that build supply chains in the near future, the need to develop policies that will result in the harmony between them, customers and other stakeholders.

Macrophages remove foreign material from the body and are recruited to sites were there are particles present. Multinucleate giant cells from by the fusion of macrophages. In the presence of particles, macrophages produce various chemical mediators, known as cytokines, as well as enzymes. Some of the cytokines are pro-inflammatory (for example, IL1Beta, IL6 and TNFalpha) while others promote giant cell formation (GM-CSF, M-CSF, TGF). The presence of these cellular products can be shown by examining tissue sections with immunohistochemistry and by western blotting. The message (mRNA) for the synthesis of these molecules can be demonstrated by in situ hybridization and the polymerase chain reaction. Macrophages process ingested material and present it as antigen to lymphocytes. Antigen-presenting macrophages play an important part in the initiation of metal sensitization. Surface receptors and their counterligands are expressed on macrophages and lymphocytes during antigen presentation. The particles present in tissues around joint prostheses have been isolated and characterized. Over 95% of these are less than 1 micron (ECD) in size. Transmission electron microscopy has revealed nanoparticles of metal in the range 15-20 nm. Such particles are too small to be phagocytosed. Hydroxyapatite, diamond-like carbon (nano-diamond) and metal particles are being studied and results compared with those of particles in the micrometer range. There is a different response to different nanoparticles.
