Global environment as a factor of changes in organization and modern management concepts

Purpose: The aim of the study is to present a changing global environment for businesses, to use modern elements of management, IT and telecommunications as necessary elements in the face of the pandemic and global crisis, to sustain the functioning of businesses, organisations, economies and states. Design/methodology/approach: On the basis of the collected statistical data, own research and surveys, observations and literature, conclusions have been drawn concerning trends of changes in the organisation and the application of modern management concepts and forms of management. The study presents the functioning of enterprises taking into account their further environment, especially economic and social, against the background of the current problems of the EU and the world economy. The study also presents the problems of modern global economy, pandemic and sustainable development. Findings: Study presents selected elements of governance and trends of change in the organisation. What matters most for companies is marketing, finance, profit, strategies, personnel, innovation, modern methods and forms of organisation, etc. However, elements of IT and modern management methods already have an important and growing position, especially in the face of the pandemic, remote work and the global crisis. Technological and macro-economic changes, new methods of management, shrinking natural resources in the world at the turn of the 20th and 21st century, looking for substitutes, all these set out the directions for the development of companies. In addition, socio-political and epidemiological changes, computerisation and automation, cause changes in the functioning of enterprises, both large and small.

Purpose: The article attempts to determine what contemporary globalization is and what opportunities and threats this process creates (in terms of global threats to enterprise information systems). Design/methodology/approach: The management of information security and counteracting cyber-attacks is an important aspect of the functioning of enterprises in the 21st century. In this sense, this article will analyse the threats resulting from the dynamic development of information technology, based on the results of research conducted on a sample of Polish enterprises. Findings: This publication is an attempt to identify the basic threats resulting from the fact that the organization operates in a digitized global reality. Research limitations/implications: It seems that the threats mentioned in the article will be gaining momentum and will be evaluated in the unpredictable today direction. Social implications: The 21st century brought a completely new look at the processes of globalization and management of a modern enterprise. It turns out that information has become the basic tool of competitive struggle in the global market. For this reason, the management of information security and counteracting cyber-attacks is an important aspect of the functioning of enterprises in the 21st century. Originality/value: The article addresses current problems of cyberspace security in the context of globalization. It can be useful for company managers as well as for conducting research in this field.

In the article solving of a research problem presented in the introduction of the article is described. The aim of the article is to explore and verity the hypothesis that the complete structure of the Safety Network is the tool towards greater stability of the financial system. The research was based on a methodology that included descriptive and comparative analysis. The bibliography of the article consist of scientific works, as well as reports and expertise knowledge. The results of the research present the new structure of the safety network institutions that can be applied to the business practice and the theory of the financial markets. This arrangement broadens the structure and functions of the Safety Network and should result in better stability of the financial system, especially in relation to crisis.

Celem artykułu jest określenie wpływu podstawowych czynników i uwarunkowań rozwoju gospodarki globalnej na sferę transportu i logistyki w UE. Charakteryzując podstawowe procesy, tendencje i zjawiska występujące współcześnie w układzie gospodarki globalnej w aspekcie ich oddziaływania na światowy sektor transportu, dokonano oceny ich wpływu na rozwój europejskiego systemu transportowego i logistycznego, postrzeganego w kontekście realizacji strategicznych celów polityki transportowej UE. Cele te wiążą się z budową jednolitej europejskiej przestrzeni transportowej i logistycznej, opartej na zasadach wynikających z wdrażanej strategii zrównoważonego rozwoju transportu. Ocena ta przedstawiona została w głównej mierze na podstawie analizy rozwoju najbardziej umiędzynarodowionego w skali globalnej obszaru działalności transportowej, tj. transportu morskiego. Na tej podstawie określono szanse i zagrożenia, jakie niesie globalizacja dla rozwoju wspólnej przestrzeni transportowej i logistycznej UE.

The author’s main aim is to characterize the impct of the key factors and determinants of the development of the global economy on EU transport and logistics sector. Presenting the main processes and tendencies being fund in the contemporary global economy in view of their impact on the word transport sector, their influence on European transport and logistics system has been assessed. The European transport system has been regarded in terms of strategic goals set up by the EU transport policy. These goals are oriented on establishing single European transport and logistics area based on principles of sustainable development strategy. The analysis is based on the maritime transport which is viewed as the globally most internationalized mode of transport. As a result, the chances and barriers generated by globalization processes to the development of the single European transport and logistics area have been determined.

Światowy handel oraz transport morski stanową ważne segmenty (subsystemy) globalnego systemu logistycznego. Transport morski, jako jedno z jego ogniw, oddziałuje aktywnie na sprawność i efektywność procesów logistycznych i elastyczność przepływów strumieni towarowych w skali globalnej. Sfera jego oddziaływania jest przy tym bardzo rozległa, obejmując nie tylko rynki frachtowe oraz inne powiązane z nimi rynki transportowe i towarowe, ale również pozostałe segmenty globalnych łańcuchów i sieci dostaw, w tym rynki zaopatrzenia i zbytu. W wielu wypadkach – w zależności od rodzaju i charakteru globalnego łańcucha dostaw – procesy transportowe stanowią nawet 70–80% wszystkich procesów i operacji realizowanych w jego ramach. Wymiar zadań i funkcji logistycznych transportu morskiego, postrzeganych przez pryzmat globalnego systemu logistycznego, jest więc bardzo szeroki, wielofunkcyjny i znaczący w aspekcie sprawności przebiegu wszystkich procesów w układzie łańcucha dostaw ocenianych zazwyczaj w kategoriach czasu i kosztów ich realizacji.

Global shipping sector and especially container transport activity as a vital segment of freight market is constantly influenced by great deal of turbulent situations. The author has presented the role and functions of the world maritime transport and container transport in the contemporary global economy. The mechanism of functioning of the maritime container market has been analyzed and the main types and forms of crisis occurrences affecting this market as well as the basic reasons of their coming into being have been viewed. Special attention has been paid to the hard predictable changes on supply markets, especially connected with the sharp rise in bunker prices. Their character and strength have been determined and their impact on the effectiveness of the short and long term container shipping activity performed by shipowners. Essential strategies used by ship operators under turbulent conditions have been presented and analyzed.. They have been viewed and assessed from both shippers and shipowners point of view. Implications resulting from their implementation in international maritime sector and indirectly in the global trade have been examined as well.

W artykule przedstawiono innowacyjny system zarządzania logistycznymi łańcuchami dostaw funkcjonujący w warunkach gospodarki globalnej. Szczególną uwagę skupiono na nowej koncepcji certyfikacji strategicznych dostawców determinującej ekonomiczną efektywność i wysoką konkurencyjność światowych łańcuchów dostaw. Podkreślono rolę i znaczenie partnerskich i interaktywnych, relacji biznesowych łączących pierwotnych dostawców, kolejnych pośredników i końcowych odbiorców. Szerzej omówiono tendencje przechodzenia od anonimowych dostawców do certyfikowanych partnerów biznesowych. Rozważania zilustrowano wybranymi przykładami z gospodarki japońskiej i a amerykańskiej. W zakończeniu sformułowano wnioski końcowe obrazujące światowe trendy kształtowania logistycznych łańcuchów dostaw w dobie gospodarki elektronicznej.

This article presents an innovative management system of logistics supply chain in the global economy. Particular attention is focused on the new strategic concept of certification of suppliers which determines the economic efficiency and global competitiveness of supply chains. Highlights the role and importance of partnerships and interactive business relationships connecting the primary suppliers, dealers and the subsequent end-users. Widely discussed trends in the transition from anonymous suppliers to certified business partners. The considerations are illustrated with selected examples of Japanese and U.S. economies. In the final conclusions were reflecting global trends shaping the logistics supply chain in the age of electronic commerce.

Pod wpływem tendencji postępującej globalizacji gospodarek należy liczyć się z konkurencją zintegrowaną w skali światowej. Oznacza to, że koncepcja konkurowania zróżnicowana odpowiednio do warunków działań firm na rynkach lokalnych podlega ujednolicaniu przez pewne standardy światowe. Z określenia przez standaryzację kierunek przemian dostosowawczych w Polsce jest taki sam, jak w gospodarce światowej gospodarce rynkowej. Według natomiast podstawowego standardu tej gospodarki, od poziomu jakościowego kadr zależy zdolność przedsiębiorstwa do konkurowania. Brak zaangażowania polskiej przedsiębiorczości w procesy rozwoju pracowników jest z tego punktu widzenia pesymistycznym prognostykiem.

Under the influence of progressive economies globalisation one must be aware of competition integrated in global range. It means that strategy of competition previously differentiated for separate local markets undergoes the unification by certain world standards. The direction of adaptation transformations in Poland is generally the same as in global market economy. However, according to the basic standard of this economy the company's competition ability depends on the quality of its staff. From this point of view, no engagement of Polish enterprise in employees' development is a pessimistic forecast.
