With the world’s attention on future energy needs focused on LNG; the unprecedented growth phase and globalization era of LNG Shipping activities are inevitable.Along with that the acute shortage of qualified /experienced LNG Sea Officers to manage, operate and maintain the existing and upcoming LNG Tankers is a crucial issue to LNG Shipping Industry as they are the onsite guardian that safeguard and set the standards for the onboard HSSE Assurance. Hence the write-up is an attempt to recommend a recently developed (tailor-made), tested/proven, practical and cost effective solution i.e a Survey Questionnaire based rapid Safety Assurance Assessment Model to safeguard, sustain and further improve any LNG Tanker’s Safety Assurance. The Assessment Model was crafted out after an in depth and width study/research into existing and potential future Safety Regimes applicable to an LNG Tanker (including its current Management Approach (Internal Control) – challenges ahead, needs to reform, etc.).The Assessment Model has also taken into consideration the foreseen challenges from the “humans on-site” with reference to already seen and proven historical perspective and impact of human behaviors onto an LNG Tanker’s Safety Assurance.

W związku ze wzrostem zapotrzebowania na energię elektryczną, konieczne jest prowadzenie badań nad możliwością zapewnienia paliwa dla elektrowni. Energetyka krajowa bazuje na węglu i nie należy przewidywać radykalnych zmian w strukturze wytwarzania energii. Posiadane zasoby węgla brunatnego i kamiennego pozwalają również na sformułowanie postulatu o ważnej roli tych paliw w zapewnieniu bezpieczeństwa energetycznego. Znaczenie węgla zależy jednak od jego konkurencyjności w stosunku do innych nośników energii, ale także od właściwych decyzji dotyczących udostępniania złóż. Prowadzone do tej pory analizy wskazują na to, że węgiel może stanowić bazę bezpieczeństwa energetycznego, jednak pod warunkiem przestrzegania zasad zrównoważonego rozwoju.

In connection with the increase of electric energy demand it is necessary to conduct investigations into the possibility of ensuring fuel for power plants. The Polish power industry is based on coal and no radical changes in the energy production structure are anticipated. The brown and hard coal resources being in possession allow also to formulate the postulate relating to the important role of these fuels in the energy safety assurance. The significance of coal, however, depends on its competitiveness in relation to other energy carriers, but also on appropriate decisions concerning deposit opening. The analyses conducted till now indicate that coal can constitute the basis of energy safety, however, on condition that the rules of sustainable development will be obeyed.
