The article is dedicated to development of the methodological approach to determine the most effective ways and areas of investments use aimed at reducing the negative impacts of pollution. This takes into account the reality that the level of pollution is different for different areas (regions), and the degree of negative impact is due to two main factorsvolume of gas emissions and the number of residents living in these territories. Taking into account the lack of quantitative laws regarding the impact of pollution on human lives the expediency to limit some qualitative considerations that significantly contribute to the solution of the problem are developed in the article. The paper develops analytic approach, which is based on establishing the parameters that characterize the essence of the developed phenomenon. The state of air pollution in particular is seen as the main factor that significantly affects the residents’ life quality. At one and the same degree of negative pollution, its effect will depend on the number of residents living in the area. As our research continues with the assessment of air pollution reduction state, where two indicators were developed – harmful gas components in the air and population density in the area. Based on the hypothesis of parabolic type, the corresponding functional relation between the parameters proves, that the product of assumed parameters determines the priority of pollution reduction in some areas. The conducted proposed approach to interpretation of dust pollution on the example of regions of Poland is developed.

Przedsiębiorcy realizujący projekty zmierzające do ochrony środowiska naturalnego mogą uzyskać dofinansowanie z wielu funduszy unijnych. Obecnie największym instrumentem finansującym tego typu projekty jest Program Operacyjny Infrastruktura i Środowisko, z którego można otrzymać wsparcie na uzyskanie certyfikatów zarządzania środowiskowego ISO 14001 i systemu EMAS, a także ekoznaków. Przedsiębiorcy mogą również uzyskać wsparcie w ramach regionalnych programów operacyjnych, działań i konkursów organizowanych przez Narodowy i Wojewódzkie Fundusze Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej, w ramach Programu Rozwoju Obszarów Wiejskich, a także kredytów preferencyjnych z BOŚ SA.

Entrepreneurs pursuing projects related with environmental protection are able to obtain financing from various EU funds. The biggest tool currently providing financing for such projects is the Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment, which supports the achievement of environmental management certification ISO 14001, EMAS and Eco-Marks. Entrepreneurs can also receive assistance under the regional operational programs, activities and competitions organized by both the National and Provincial Funds for Environmental Protection and Water Management, Rural Development Program and in form of preferential loans from BOŚ SA.

W artykule przedstawiono ekoinnowacje jako jeden z instrumentów służących realizacji zasad trwałego i zrównoważonego rozwoju w skali przedsiębiorstwa i w odniesieniu do gospodarki regionu, a przez to przydatnego w procesie wdrażania zasad zrównoważonego zarządzania zasobami wodnymi na poziomie regionu.

The article presents eco-investments as one of the tools serving the realisation of principles of durable and sustainable development on the level of enterprises and with regard to the regional economy, thus useful in the process of sustainable development in water resources management implementation on the level of the region.
