Large-signal input characteristics of three DC–DC converter types: buck, boost and flyback working in the discontinuous conduction mode (DCM), obtained by precise large signal PSpice simulations, calculations based on averaged models and measurements are presented. The parasitic resistances of the converter components are included in the simulations. The specific features of the input characteristics in the DCM and the differences between the continuous conduction mode (CCM) and DCM are discussed.

Large-signal input characteristics of three DC–DC converter types: buck, boost and flyback working in the continuous conduction mode (CCM), obtained by simulations and measurements are investigated. The results of investigations are presented in the form of the analytical formulas and the exemplary results of the measurements and two forms of simulations: based on the full description of the converter components and on the averaged models. The parasitic resistances of the converter components are included in the simulations and their influence on the simulation results is discussed.

Poniższy artykuł przedstawia porównanie mechanizmów komunikacji i synchronizacji oferowanych w aplikacjach wielowątkowych oraz analogicznych rozwiązań opartych o komunikację międzyprocesową. Porównanie teoretyczne zestawiono z praktycznymi klasycznymi problemami synchronizacji. Porównano dostępność mechanizmów komunikacji i synchronizacji w bibliotece Boost i w komunikacji międzyprocesowej IPC. Przedstawiono subiektywną ocenę stopnia trudności implementacji i porównanie wydajności.

The following article presents a comparison of multithread and multiprocess communication and synchronization. The theoretical comparison was supported by the solutions of practical, classical synchronization problems. The availability of communication and synchronization mechanisms in the Boost library and in IPC interprocess communication was compared.A subjective assessment of the difficulty in implementation and applications performance was also presented.

Realization of a low temperature combustion concept in homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engines is a cutting-edge technology that offers clean combustion in parallel with high thermal efficiency. Low combustion temperature prevents from NOx formation whereas homogeneous mixture assures smokeless exhaust. However, achieving the production feasibility by HCCI technology is hampered by high pressure rise rates and the resulting combustion noise at a high load operation. This paper explores combustion timing parameters that are capable of maintaining permissible levels of pressure rise rates under a high load regime. On the basis of experimental data collected at a high load HCCI operation, pressure rise level was correlated with combustion duration. Furthermore, combustion duration has been found to scale with in-cylinder volume, for which 50% of mass fraction burned appeared. The results showed quantitatively limitations of engine load, pointing out on required combustion timings to achieve acceptable combustion harshness depending on engine load.

This paper presents the research results of a multilevel switched capacitor DC-DC converter (MLSCC). The converter, for power electronic applications, can operate in ZCS mode by utilizing resonant circuits for recharging the switched capacitors. The main focus of this article is an in-depth original analysis of the waveforms and the converter voltage ratio. The concept of the converter is verified by simulation results of the circuit in MATLAB/Simulink Sim Power Systems. The formulas given in the mathematical analysis are evaluated for example parameters of the components with the use of numerical approach in MATLAB software. Plot sets are presented in order to judge the influence of the parameters on converter performance. All non-expected relations are explained based on mathematical analysis. The possibilities of the design optimization are identified and presented based on the anticipated results. The present analysis is important for the converter design process and can be used for numerical multi-object optimization to further improve the converter design.

Content available remote Classification and Comparison of BPFC Techniques: A Review
EN
Power factor correction (PFC) techniques play an important role in green power and energy-saving technology. Based on conventional boost PFC, many novel topologies and control strategies of bridgeless PFC(BPFC) have been proposed, and BPFC reduces the number of devices, the losses and improves the power density as well. In this paper, it discusses and investigates a variety of low conduction losses and high power factor performance of the BPFC topological structures and identifies their merits and limitations by comparing and analysing bridgeless boost PFC,bridgeless buck PFC ,bridgeless sepic PFC and Bridgeless cuk PFC. And the trends of bridgeless PFC techniques are analyzed in the meantime. For the selection, application, and the later structural optimization of Bridgeless PFC techniques which are used in the smart grid, distributed energy and green power and other equipments.
